I immediately stopped going there after my first visit due to the excessive amount of money with hidden fees they charged. I don t recommend that place to anyone I will also warn my personal dentist who is very respectful to stop referring Bandala dental immediately. Respond to Bandala group: Not everyone carries hundreds of dollars in their pockets to pay such big bills, and your office charge an extra 3% for using a credit card, it s call a surprise. Even though I found your service that was done by a trainee by the way very expensive I did not get frustrated, I have been very honest and sent the payment from my HSA account to your office but ...another surprise the payment has been returned without explanation. I checked with my HSA and they confirm that the payment has been refused by your office, I never had any problems before and now you send me a letter treating me to send a collector.

Honestly, I am not sure how aware Dr. Bandala is of the issues I have had as Treycee is the "gatekeeper". She is the receptionist and all email correspondence goes to her as well. But a DDS is responsible for his staff and they are required to provide medical care in a timely manner, to treat patients with respect and include them in their health care diagnoses and treatment plans and to treat them equally-despite their insurance. Unprofessional and petty Business Manager, Treycee, delayed my care and refused to make appointments for preauthorized work despite Dr. orders documented in my chart. Told me, I "was not a priority", "difficult from the beginning" and never missed an opportunity to point out they don't normally accept my insurance (Medi-Cal). She treated me differently than other patients and made it clear she did not like me-felt above me for some odd reason which, again, is related to my insurance. While in office, checking out after a procedure I was stunned when Treycee made a snarky comment to my face about how I'm "getting dental work for free!". So inappropriate! My medical diagnosis was never clearly outlined to me and when Dr. Bandala discovered additional problems, I was not contacted. I only discover when I call in to schedule appointment or follow-up on authorization and it's Treycee, the Business Manager, who relays it to me and only in relation to insurance and them getting paid. She said it is standard operating procedures in their office for her to give medical diagnoses over the phone (although admitted it is not standard procedure for most dental offices) and if you want details, your overall oral health and next steps you have to schedule a consultation with Dr. Bandala. She did not offer me an appointment or explain how much my insurance would be billed for the additional consultation. I had procedures done under sedation but was not given pre-treatment instructions or told I needed a chaperone to escort me home afterwards. Hence, while in the office-in the dental chair- I had to frantically contact family members and see if they could uproot their work day to come pick me up once I'm done. I have decided I'd rather have cavities and need a root canal than go back and be treated by Dr. Bandala-even if I could get an appointment made, which I've been attempting to do since mid-January when Dr. Bandala told me to do so. Treycee has blocked the process despite authorization from my insurance. As a Buddhist with a Master's Degree who has dedicated my life to helping others (hence my "poor person's" insurance) I have always been respectful and kind to Dr. Bandala and his staff when in office and on phone. It is very disappointing to have had such unprofessional treatment. I would not want anyone to experience what I have and recommend you avoid his office at all costs.

They brought me in pretty fast. I filled out paper, did a COVID screening then sat down with the dr and went through my teeth history. I let him know about some bluish color around the base of my root canal. We did x-rays and I had a cavity. We made an apt for a filling and he recommended a new crown. I received the quote and was surprised by the pricing. I opted for the filling and skipped the crown. I called my insurance since the crown should have been covered. They said the Dr may have upgraded the crown and that's why it isn't covered. The Dr did my filling himself and he was very quick and the shots were nearly painless. I was shocked how quick he was. After my apt, I asked him If he upgraded my crown because I was surprised by the price. Instead of just saying yes and explaining why, I felt like i was attacked. "He said you need a good crown. You grind your teeth too. I had to file your back tooth down to nearly flat. Normally, I only have to do that two or three times with patients, but yours took a long time. You have no ridges." I was offended. He was talking about the tooth that he just filled, not even the tooth that needed the crown. I've been reluctant to even go back for a cleaning. Best dental care I've ever had! I receive a text…read morenotification of my appointment date and time. A second text notification comes a few days before my appointment to confirm I will be coming. Upon checking in, I am heading back within minutes. From the outside to the chair, it is clean. It is quiet and empty each time I come in. The employees are wonderful. Super helpful with scheduling appointments and are very kind. They are gentle every step of the way. So that I am comfortable, the assistant tells me what they will be doing before each step. I am in and out of their chair within 30 minutes.
