A spur of the moment trip to see the Nationals in DC was an easy audible with close proximity to the Metro and a knowledgeable, hardworking staff to smooth all the edges. One note. If you look for tickets on-line, the Nats will force you to create an account with MLB.com -- a task which is somewhat involved since I have no interest in buying the team and only want two tix. As the Nats run a cash-free organization, the easiest thing to do is go to their ticket office directly outside the center field gate and they'll text you two tix without the MLB nonsense. Being an avid ticket stub collector, I should deduct a star but what the hell, the evening was a blast. A beautiful ballpark and a great time. Five easy stars.

I am an O's fan so this rivalry means something to me. I also really enjoyed the Nats giveaway that day. A hot dog hat. Normally I am underwhelmed by the Nats giveaways even as a baseball fan but this was the only one I really felt excited about. I sat in Club Level and I was a little shocked that no one in staff at the park was checking peoples tickets. They were letting anyone go up to club level which was an issue for several reasons. Problem #1: It was hot dog day and the food was $5 so the lines were absurdly long and there were people from the lower and upper levels going to CLUB LEVEL to get concessions. At Camden Yards the staff actually checks your tickets to seeing you're supposed to be at Club Level. That's what makes club level great the lines are smaller but the cost is that you don't get the specialty food options like on the lower level. The only person checking tickets at club level were the guys at the door if you were supposed to be in like Sections 206-210 Problem 2: Because no one was checking club level when entering there was issues with people sitting in my seat. Where was the usher in my section??? Idk he wasn't there and some jerk took my seat saying since I was wearing an O's jersey I didn't deserve that seat. I paid good money to sit in club level and not being able to sit in my seat was ridiculous. Additionally I was harassed by several Nats fans during my time at the park. To a point one of them stole my free giveaway hat because "you're not even a fan". I paid for the ticket and I waited ALMOST AN HOUR at the gate being one of the first people to enter the ballpark and to get my hat just taken from me was a slap in the face. I already filled out the survey with Nationals Park and requested that a staffer call me and I hope they do because of all the times I've been to Nats Park in my life I've never felt as disrespected as I did on my most recent visit.

It's falling into disrepair, but it has so many great memories for me that I can do nothing but give it a good rating. It's one of the classic stadiums of the USA, and I hope that they are able to keep it open and renovate it and make it useful. Even though it won't have the NFL playing in it anytime soon, I hope that somebody big will play it in future. Richard covered most of what happened here, it was a legend. But he forgot that World Cup USA 94 games were held here, which were my greatest memory of the stadium that famously and literally would bounce up and down during games.

The BD function are very poorly trained in customer resolution and the security staff are wholly unprofessional. According to the BD function, they are 'doing their job' and 'following guidelines' when they scream at patrons using disabled entrances. I attended the game and went into the club store from the roadside. I was let into a disabled entrance by a patron who could see me attempting to use the door. Very swiftly I was swarmed by security staff screaming at me to get out and that I couldn't be in there and I didn't have a ticket. I'd did have a ticket, they had no signage saying not to use the door. My colleague and I and the patron were scolded and humiliated in front of the entire store. Were I able to arrange suitable travel back, I'd have left immediately but left at half time. Branden in the business development function has handled this issue with a complete lack of any care or and totally wipes their hands of the problem. I've been told I cant have a refund because the security staff followed guidelines, but I can have free tickets which he knows are of no use to me. When admitting that signage is an issue, and I was treated poorly, I've been told I won't receive a refund under any circumstance but encouraged to pursue a refund with Ticketmaster who ultimately contact the club? What would the point of that be other than to waste someone's time. I've also been told that Ticketmaster have to process the refunds as though it's unusual to purchase tickets this way.. The club website redirects you to Ticketmaster and they seem to genuinely expect that I attend the club to get tickets from another continent

September 21st 2025…read more This place is so disorganized and disappointing. My father called ahead of time since him and I are both disabled (we both have handicap placards and my father has a permanent disabled license plate) He finally got ahold of someone and they said if we want handicap parking up close get the gold parking pass. I paid 200 dollars for parking. Yes, 200. Parking up close is VERY important to me.. Nobody was helpful in guiding us to the lot we paid 200 dollars for. Also, they told us when we got there there's no handicap places, we just have to go and sit on a blue bench and call a number for a golf cart to pick us up. I called the number 3 times and somebody did answer. They were nice but not helpful. We ended up having to give up and walk. No workers were helpful, and when we would try to flag down other workers on golf carts they would not stop for us. They did not even look at us The stadium is very outdated. It looks extremely industrial and not welcoming Very crowded Lines were long There definitely was not enough bathrooms or food areas to keep up with all the people it can hold However, I did enjoy the seats we had. I liked the view. And the field looks great. I will say, the bathrooms for the MOST part were clean for over 50 thousand people being there. I did see a toilet overflowing onto the ground though. But workers were taking care of it This stadium needs a huge update. Do not waste 200 on up close parking. It wasn't even that up close and nobody came and picked us up despite us calling and waiting for 43 minutes (the game had already started while we were waiting) Again, I do have to hand it to the woman on the phone who kept answering. It wasn't her fault and at least she answered. So, if you are disabled and can't walk far, plan accordingly Every stadium is different So always check their bag rules. I did have to use a small clear bag Sadly, this stadium is probably one of the worst I've been to P.S- if you google worst NFL stadiums, this one comes up lol. So I'm not the only one complaining

I really wish they had more concessions at this arena, so typically we have dinner before or after pending the game time. If you get the tickets with beer/wine and snacks I highly recommend to only sit in the lounge. The floor seats aren't worth it at all. You can be on the opposite side of the lounge and be forced to walk up the stairs around the arena back down the stairs grab your snacks only to have to do that all over again to get back to your seats. The ushers also give conflicting information and be told to walk one way and then be forced to walk another by another person. It makes it very confusing and frustrating for a guest that is just following what they were told.

Who thought this through? You'll definitely have to get there early due to that 2-lane, tight squeeze through the neighborhood. I'm sure the people who actually live there hate game-day as it makes it harder for them to get home. That's crazy. BUT, after the game, on my way home, I turned right (instead of left to follow everybody else and return the way I came) and found an easier route. It was actually a route I know as my friends live by the big chair and I could easily hop onto 295 to get home. But I digress. The Arena itself is pretty nice. It looks like the area is being renovated a bit. I'm not sure exactly where in DC it is, but there are several old buildings in the area that had to be in use at some point in time. It didn't take too long to get in and our seats were right up front. The atmosphere for Pride night was festive. I was easily able to grab some food & drink and head to my seat with no problem. It is a smaller venue, but it felt cozy. I had a good time. After the game you can go across the street to an area which holds a few eateries and there's one big indoor area with a bar. If you park in the garage, be prepared to wait about 20 minutes before there's any movement so you can get out. I was nervous I'd be sitting there LONGER, but once we started moving, we got out quickly. If you get there EARLY you can probably park on the street which will facilitate your exit.

DC United has been one of the most successful clubs in MLS to date. In terms of total MLS Cups won,…read moreDC is currently second (4 championships), trailing only the LA Galaxy (5). DC United is tied with the LA Galaxy for the most Supporters' Shields won (4 each; most seasons with best regular season record). They've also won three US Open Cups (second-most in the league) and are the only MLS team to have won either the CONCACAF Champions League and the Copa Interamericana championship. So, when it comes to Major League Soccer, this is what you call a historically elite team. DC United was one of the original 10 teams to begin MLS play in the league's inaugural season in 1996. They had success right out the gate, winning the MLS Cup in 1996, 1997, and 1999. The team carried that success into the 2000s, but aside from their 2013 US Open Cup win (where they were underdogs), they haven't won anything of consequence since. A couple of the most well-known players and coaches from DC United include Bolivian forward Jaime Moreno and American midfielder and coach Ben Olsen. Moreno and Olsen were teammates on the 1999 and 2004 MLS Cup championship teams. Moreno has gone on to set club records in many statistical categories including most appearances (427) and goals scored (162). No other DC United player has come close. The season immediately after his last as a player (2009), Olsen took the reins as head coach in 2010 after the firing of Curt Onalfo. Olsen went on to coach DC United for an entire decade (2010-2020), by far the longest tenure of any club coach. For the first 22 seasons, DC United played in the old RFK Stadium (opened 1961) which was used for a variety of sporting events including Washington Redskins (NFL), Washington Nationals (MLB), and Military Bowl (NCAA Division I FBS) games. The team has played at Audi Field since its opening in 2018. Audi Field, which was built specifically for DC United, is located about 10-15 minutes (5-6 miles) away from the old stadium, down the Anacostia River. In its final years as home to DC United, RFK was configured to seat 20,000 for MLS games, same as Audi Field.

In the playoffs, the team has been relatively mediocre, with a sub-.470 win percentage. The lack of playoff success shows in the number of Stanley Cup Finals (2) and Stanley Cup championships (1) won. Since drafting Alexander Ovechkin with the first pick in 2004, Ovechkin has been synonymous with the Capitals. So far, he's spent all 17 seasons of his NHL career playing for Washington. In July 2021, he signed a five-year deal with the Capitals that's worth an average of $9.5 million per year. The contract will see him through to the 2025-26 season. By the end of that season, he'll be 40 years old. Ovechkin is a living legend and for-sure hall-of-famer. He's currently the only active NHL player within striking distance of Wayne Gretzky's all-time NHL regular-season goals scored record of 894. At the time of writing this review, Ovechkin has scored 772 goals and ranks third behind Gretzky and another legend, Gordie Howe (801), all time. Gretzky scored at a rate of .601 goals per game. Ovechkin's current career pace is higher at .611, so he has a realistic shot at surpassing The Great One. Needless to say, Ovechkin has set lots of records, both within the franchise and league-wide. Ovechkin has been the team captain since 2010. 2018 is when Ovi and the Caps won the Stanley Cup. After dropping Game 1 on the road at T-Mobile Arena (Paradise, Nevada), Washington rebounded to win Games 2 through 5 and win their Finals matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights, 4-1. The Capitals closed out a tight one on the road in Game 5, winning 4-3: https://youtu.be/IzyKiQY5GoI. The Golden Knights were brand new that season (2017-18). The Capitals' head coach at the time was Barry Trotz. After only four seasons in Washington, he resigned just days after leading the Capitals to the Stanley Cup championship (contract disagreements) and signed with the New York Islanders. The Capitals have had two head coaches since Trotz: Todd Reirden (2018-2020) and current coach Peter Laviolette. Unlike Reirden, Laviolette brought over 15 years of NHL head coaching experience to Washington. Coincidentally, Laviolette's first NHL head coaching job is where Trotz is today, the New York Islanders. He led the Carolina Hurricanes to the 2006 Stanley Cup championship and led both the Philadelphia Flyers (2010) and the Nashville Predators (2017) to the Stanley Cup Finals.
