I was hungry for something not greasy fast food, and was drawn to the idea of snagging a deli sandwich while here. I did not expect the sheer incredible variety of food goods available here. Every aisle we browsed was like an exclamation of pointing and going "ooh!" I wanted to buy SO MUCH absolutely delicious looking stuff (especially the fruit-topped cheesecakes, pastries, and cookies... drool), as well as the various ingredients and spices and sauces and pickled veg. They had a huge pop-it-yourself popcorn selection, for example. Tons of pasta shapes. Even milk of many flavors in reusable glass (if only the world could go back to that sustainable model!). The worst part is, I only got a couple things, fully intending to stop again on our way back to Minnesota. But we left for home Sunday, when it wasn't open. It was a foolish error on my part indeed, one which I will likely never live down (until we come back out this way, and you can bet your ass I'll drop at least a hundo in here, maybe two!). The sandwich, which I did get, was quite large and I ate half then, half later. It was cool and yummy, and I appreciated the many options of bread and meats to choose from. I also grabbed a fancy bottled soda. I can't lie, I'm pretty tempted to somehow get one of their loveseat style porch swings (they even come with a fold-down cupholder). Fun decor on the inside like taxidermy, with a high ceiling and wall art. The bathroom is in the back (it was a bit difficult for me to locate at first) and was clean. All the employees were friendly and helpful. I'd probably shop here weekly if I lived nearby, so it's a real shame it's nearly nine hours away!
