The cheeseburgers were dry and bland, even though they asked how we would like them cooked (1 medium and 1 medium well). We paid over $27 for 2 cheeseburgers and 1 order of fries. The online menu said cheeseburgers were 7.99 and fries were 1.99. The cheeseburger with everything plus deluxe came with a bad tomato and no onions. We didn't receive any ketchup or mustard, although we ordered it so definitely check your order before you leave with it. My husband questioned the amount and was told it was because of the other cheeseburger with extra pickles. I've never been charged for extra pickles anywhere before. This was our second time ordering takeout from here and we will never make the mistake again. This place is overpriced and not very good. We were so disappointed in this place. I have always had good meals and good service at Heather's Dinner, but last week December 18 I order Biscuits and Gravy and was very disappointed! I know this is made with drippings from cooking sausage, but I also know when I have ordered this elsewhere there are small pieces of sausage in the gravy. Not at Heather's Dinner! There were specs os sausage, which provided we with a tastiest serving of biscuits and gravy. To me it tasted like flour and water. I asked if they could add a few pieces of sausage, but the waitress told me only if I paid for it. I declined and couldn't eat the rest. My parents were raving about this place, so naturally, when I came home for xmas my dad took me there to pick up food to go. It's funny because where they are located used to be an ice cream shop and I haven't been in there since I think I was in high school, but it looks exactly the same, only now they just serve regular food instead of ice cream. If you're not from the area, then you won't get the aesthetics, but it brought back a whole bunch of old good memories. My dad let me have his cup of potato soup and it was SO SO GOOD. The Greek salad I had was absolutely delicious as well, but I goofed up and needed to order it with some grilled chicken. I got two whole meals out of the salad though, so it's a very good sized portion. That's also why my parents like going, they always get a few meals out of everything they order here. read more

We were moving into the area and stopped in for lunch. The service was horrible! We had to get our own menus and silverware. It took forever to get a waitress to come and see if we wanted anything to drink or eat. I asked if I could get a BLT wrap instead of sandwich and the waitress paused for a while and said oh the cook is ....today and he won't do that. I thought wow..ok it's not that difficult but ok I ordered something else. The waitress brought our lunch and never came back to check on us. Twice I went up for coffee refills and pop refills. We waited and waited and finally got up and asked for our bill so we could leave. I would never go there again. read more

Not sure how to rate this. I've eaten here multiple times but each time had a different rating. So, I'll base it off the last two times and average it as a 4. This is a classic small town grill with burgers, sandwiches, breakfast, and more. The burgers are average tasting - nothing to write home about, but very large and sides are generously portioned. The soups are terrific. During this last trip, I tried the chicken stir fry for the first time. To my surprise, it was one of the best I've ever eaten - even comparable to some 5star restaurants in New York. Also, I didn't expect the lunch serving to be so abundant - an heaping large plateful! There was a vast array of different vegetables that were perfectly steamed and the chicken was delicate and juicy. It tasted exactly how a stir fry should taste! Just talking about it makes me want more! Overall, you will enjoy this colorful little restaurant in the middle of a tiny Indiana town. And if stir fry isn't your thing, make sure you try the soups! read more

This place has some of the best skillets I have ever had in my life. It usually takes quite a bit to fill me up especially in the morning but this place does the trick with one plate!!! Needs many updates. For one get rid of the romper room looking floors. They have no booths. Very unattractive as far as a restuarant. Put some money into the place. Make it look like a restuarant. It's great location and could have long term possibilities if it was fixed up to look like a place to eat and not a gym with tables. And over priced. I have to say I was disappointed tonight. I went to dinner with my partner. I ordered the meatloaf special and he had a stir-fry. I was not offered a soup or salad with my meal, he was offered soup with his. I had only one refill of drink was never asked if we wanted a second or third. When finished with the meal, the waitress just came and took the plates and placemats and silverware not asking if it was ok to do so. As I said just very disappointing service. read more

we've only eaten breakfast here since it became a restaurant instead of a candy factory. The decor of the candy factor is still there but don't let it full you about the food! Heather's Diner is by far one of the strangest restaurants I have ever been in. Neon paint and flooring with coffeehouse decor. We ordered Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches and our beef was very dry, I also had ordered a salad with french, which was disappointing and tasted like watered down dressing. If you value good service and great food then I would suggest never coming here!! From the moment we walked in it was like we were an inconvenience to them. Then when the food came, there was a giant hair in my food. When I said something, I was told it was probably mine! Funny because I'M BALD.
