Stopped for breakfast @ 8:30am Texas time along our journey from Colorado. Drive thru had 1 customer ahead of us that had already ordered & in waiting area. Very easy order 3 oj, 1 coffee, 3 bacon egg biscuit meals & 1 sausage egg Mc muffin meal, & 1 extra sausage/ egg Mc muffin..Oj out promptly, coffee was forgotten until they told us to drive ahead to wait for hasbrowns. We drove ahead to waiting area, idled for over 30 min, as several other cars were directed to wait. Finally went inside to see what the heck was going on. Counter lady was kind, and said she was working on our order, and that she put extra ketchup, jelly packets, ( both not ordered or requested), & extra napkins ( only 2 in the entire bag for 4 people, ugh!!!!). My husband's order was wrong, he had Canadian bacon/ ham on his but had ordered sausage. The hashbrowns were barely done but very soggy with grease. Ok, I observed several correctable things: management & training are very important, this store is severely lacking both. The gal making hasbrowns was literally moving slower than molasses without any observable defect/ physical hindrance. Why??? Why are employees disregarding passion and urgency for their jobs? I've managed an extremely busy restaurant in Dillon Colorado during the peak of ski season with no helpers as the owners were not helpful in that area, and still managed to take orders/ handle all transactions, keep the back kitchen spotless, make all food, present to customers (avg of 6 customers per minute). Planning, prep, training & yes at times micromanagement/ on the spot correction & re-direction is essential to efficiently running & maintaining a well known business. Please do better, your customers will appreciate it & each employee will gain confidence and joy in their job with the right mix. While traveling through Vernon, TX my husband and I decided to grab a quick bite at McDonalds and continue on our journey back home to New Mexico...what a mistake! Everything from the floor being a safety hazard by being VERY wet, to filthy unstocked bathrooms, to overflowing trash cans in the dining area, it was just plain NASTY! It's McDonald's. Sometimes they get your order right, sometimes they don't. Sometimes you get one small piece of everything on your burger, sometimes you don't. Went through the drive thru. 2 peppermint mochas and a dr pepper. Very tasty. Area was clean, encountered no problems with service personnel, per se, or speed of service. With ONE exception. We're they playing a game? Eg: Zombie stare? Had management told them to make eye contact with the customers and they carried it too far? We're they on drugs? When I turned to ask my friend if she noticed the expressionless stares from both employees, she asked me the same thing. They did not speak rudely, just weirdly. We both decided their behavior was quite extreme and, quite frankly, very creepy. If I am ever in Vernon again, would I go back to Mc Donald's? More than likely. We stopped here for an ice cream on our way to Amarillo and unfortunately they had terrible customer service. A simple order took about 10 minutes while waiting we witnessed another customer trying to get the lady behind the counter to give him his burger but she wouldn't listen so he left. She then put the burger on the counter and asked "where did the guy go?" and my husband told her he left so she just shrugged off the situation off carelessly. We then realized she was the manager. Very poor leadership skills. Parking lot is usually very dirty too. We'll continue going across the street to Taco Casa and Braum's for ice cream. read more

I'm sorry to say this because I'm from Vernon and I'm all about support the local businesses. When it's good, well staffed and the managers are there it's alright to eat there. Clean lobby! When prepared right it's good food, but most of the time the order is going to be wrong. I mean really mayo on the cheeseburgers! We don't place special orders, like NEVER try placing a special order!! If you like the meals from other McDonald's with their condiments usually your okay. I've always followed the rule of DO NOT leave the drive thru without checking the bag! This is to make sure you have all the items you ordered, but now I'm having to check the cheeseburgers for the correct topics. Mayo on a cheeseburger! It wasn't just one, it was all 4. They kids tossed them outside and made pb & jelly sandwiches instead. This is ridiculous. Oh and don't ask for extra sauce for nuggets they will charge you but not put it int he bag! I eat here a lot more than I should, because it is convenient and always open. I can't speak for the other food, but the crispy southwest bacon ranch salad is excellent - three times a week. The dining area has always been clean, the bathrooms have always been clean to reasonable, and while the wait can - at times - push 10 or 15 minutes, the employees have always been nice. read more

Traveling though, the worst McDonald's experience. They need more structure, hired help, and organization. The restrooms were filthy as the floors were covered in urine. No drink lids, no ketchup containers, claiming their frappe machine was broken yet at times they would serve them. They receive a lot of business for their location. The woman's restroom was nasty. Urine all over the floor and commode. The woman that worked the register was wearing a ratty old cowboys jersey and we had to keep repeating ourselves because she wasn't paying attention. She even forgot to tell us how much we owed, I had to ask her. She also thought it was funny giving my husband the wrong sauces and when he went back into the restaurant, she told him , "I knew you'd be back". I will never set foot in this place again. Best cokes in town! We always stop for drinks and French fries. Breakfast is always fast and fresh. We love the egg white McMuffins, and the pancakes are worth the wait. Happy Meals are perfect lunches for the little ones, and the homestyle hamburgers are our favorites. The staff is courteous, and the location is close to the main highway. read more

Worst customer service ever! Pulled in after the lobby had closed, but my 10 year old daughter had to use the bathroom very bad. We walked to the door and it was unlocked. Drive-thru was still open. Very poor execution on getting the food out. We waited for 25 min for our to go order of all non-special items. Restaurant wasn't crowded particularly and manager was present altho he was just standing around with his coat over one shoulder and doing NOTHING. They had adequate help in the back and front but couldn't seem to get the orders out. And not just ours. Other customers standing around, some asking to come back or get refunds bc it took so long. Aweful. If I could give less than 1 star I would. We ordered inside to go. First we waited for ever. Then when we actually got our order, they said we had our drinks and we didn't, after we got our cups they said the kids milks were in the bag and they werent. Then we made the mistake of getting mad and leaving. So they didn't put a burger in the bags. I'd love to tell you how the new smokehouse burger tastes but they didn't give it to us. We also got shorted a fry. One quarter pounder said no ketchup but the burger had ketchup. One of the burgers we got was burnt like rock status. Awful experience will never go back. I don't expect a medium rare steak from McDonald's but edible would be nice. I hope corporate sees this and sends me a refund for the food we didn't get. It's not like I want all the food for free. I don't even want a refund for the burnt food. I just want the money we paid for the food we didn't get on our road trip. P.s. stopped by burger king later and they got the order right for the whole family. Won't be going back to McDonald's. I'm just done it's the second time it happened at McDonald's on this trip.
