Stopped at this McDonald's on Main Street in Susanville while passing through town and had one of the worst fast-food experiences. We waited nearly an hour for just two fries and two cheeseburgers. The frustrating part was that the restaurant wasn't even particularly busy and the lines weren't long. If this is the level of service they can provide for such a simple order, they need serious improvements in their operations. We would have been better off skipping this stop altogether. When you're traveling and just need a quick meal, waiting an hour for basic food is unacceptable. We won't be coming back, and I hope others read this review before making the same mistake. read more

Our experience at this McDonald's was disappointing, not because of the food, but because of the customer service. The woman bringing food out from the kitchen was extremely rude to multiple customers during our visit. One customer politely asked if he could get extra caramel for his caramel frappé, and she abruptly replied, "It costs extra." When he explained that the drinks are usually served with caramel drizzled inside the cup, she snapped, "Well whoever was doing that is doing it wrong," before walking away. The poor service didn't stop there. Another customer stood at the counter waiting just to ask for ketchup, but no one was working the front. After waiting several minutes, he finally had to loudly call, "Excuse me!" into the kitchen to get someone's attention. Yet another customer had to ask about drinks they had ordered over ten minutes earlier because they still hadn't received them. To make matters worse, the restrooms were dirty despite an employee using them while we were there. It's hard to understand how the bathrooms could be left in that condition when staff were clearly in and out of them. Judging by the number of frustrated customers and the restaurant's 1.8-star Yelp rating, this doesn't seem like an isolated issue. While our food itself was fine, our "sugar-free vanilla" coffee was definitely not sugar-free--it was so sweet it was practically undrinkable. Good food can only make up for so much. Friendly, attentive customer service is just as important, and unfortunately this location seems to fall short time and time again. read more

Haven't been to Mickey D's in ages! First of all WE don't like Checking OURSELVES out at a grocery store or bagging our food with bags we have to pay for. Me and my daughter were driving through town and I was showing my daughter what we used to do in the good old days where you would yell out the window at people. She said and I quote "nice haircut." he then walked into the restaurant and screamed, " I am the one that cooks the food" I have never left a drive-through that fast. All the fast food restaurants in Susanville suck and the McDonalds is at the #1 suck position. The food is not fresh and is often delivered luke warm or cold. The last time I ate there is the LAST time I'll ever eat at a McDonalds. I went to the drive through and ordered a 10 piece McNugget meal. I paid at the first window and was told at the 2nd window to park around the corner. This almost always happens at this location, even during the lunch hour. It took over 10 minutes to bring me my meal and when they did the fries were luke warm and the nuggets were cold and chewy. Never again. The drive thru cashier, Jeremiah, was very courteous and polite. He explained everything to us as we ordered breakfast at lunchtime, confirming the order and explaining the wait we would have while the food was made. Again very customer service oriented. They parked us and made us wait for five mins for what I was told was fries. This was around 3pm. When we got our order the fries were cold and my fish fillet was a inedible. The bun was so hard it was literally shriveled up, I guess that's why they gave me two when I ordered one. So sad to see such potential in an area with limited competition. Went inside to eat yesterday with my 5 year old son and mother in law. Have not been inside for 6 ish years. I do not care for the remodel inside. What happened to the iconic play structure that makes McDonald's?? Im not sure what happened but the trash was over flowing, all the tables were dirty we finally picked one and cleaned it ourself. Food was typical Mcdonald's food. Fries did not taste fresh. Took my young son into the woman's restroom. It smells like cat piss, the toilet was leaking. I Went to Mc Donald's drive thru and noticed food missing , went inside McDonald's to let the manager know that I was missing food , he was very rude telling me I needed my receipt, I went to the car to get my receipt and when I came back inside he snatched the receipt from my hand , I don't understand how a person like him made it to be a manager if he has no customer service whatsoever and was extremely disrespectful. Bizarre and disgusting experience. Going through the drive-thru to pick up a mobile order was like some Twilight Zone episode. I don't need or appreciate a bunch of song-and-dance and weird, smarmy asskissing from the speaker and first window people ("Oh! It's the 'Valued customer!!!!' "). What the f-k? Just give me my damn food (which, as my next complaint, was absolutely revolting). When the skinny 30-ish creep at the second window handed over my order with a garish shit-eating grin on his face, I knew I had made a terrible mistake. My double quarter pounder deluxe was a complete pile of slop- I needed a spoon to eat it. Absolutely drowning in soggy shredded lettuce and mayonnaise (much like another Google reviewer's experience), like the dispenser bottle's top flew off mid-squeeze and the entire thing emptied onto my sandwich. The patties overhung the completely smashed, disintegrating bun by nearly 2 inches. The other regular cheeseburgers were stone-cold and coagulated. The fries were cold and not fresh but the only somewhat edible part of the meals. I could only manage a few bites of my cheeseburger-flavored mayonnaise muck before my stomach began to protest. Ordered 2 dbl cheeseburgers in the drive thru. Received 2 regular cheeseburgers. Old hard nasty obvious "sandbag" cheeseburgers. Went inside to straighten it out. No clerk in front. I had to waive over someone from the kitchen who was annoyed at having to be bothered to fix my order. The dbl cheeseburgers she gave were worse than the first. Dry bun, hard pattie. My husband and I just spent $42 in the drive thru at this McDonald's for a bacon burger, a chicken sandwich and 3 happy meals. I could not believe what a major rip off this place is! The chicken sandwich had a weird orange spicy sauce and two pickles.. no other toppings and it cost $11 and tasted terrible! My husband's bacon burger was $12..
