For a McDonald's, this place is not terrible. The workers usually seem kind enough and it's rare that I've had problems with the food. Since they remodeled the inside, it's definitely less gross than it used to be. Keep it up. read more

Usual terrible experience. Visited at 9 am on a Thursday. Drive through was wrapped around the building and to add to this experience, a septic truck was doing work right next to the building and drive through line. It took over 20 min in the drive-thru! Lady taking our money had no personality. When we finally got to the food window the girl working was conversing with someone just standing around behind her. Took her a good minute to even start our drinks, and all the while telling her "co-worker" that she's been told she needs to do a better job of "multi-tasking" to which she then proceeded to tell her co-worker that multitasking was not even a real thing. Good was ok, but looked old. Absolutely no excuse for the slow service and poor quality. We live in Stephens City and know this location is ONLY open due to its proximity to the interstate. No need for quality control or accountability when there is a steady stream of customers who don't know better. If heading north on I-81 go to Kernstown. If going south, just keep going. Ordered a large caramel frappe on the McDonald's app and paid for with 4500 rewards points. When arriving at drive thru to pick up, was told the frappe machine was broken. Manager said they could not restore/refund the 4500 rewards points I was charged. Left without a frappe but was still charged 4500 points. Unacceptable. If I could give this location zero stars I would. McDonald's is known internationally for burgers. When I order my 2 cheeseburgers with extra pickles, I did indeed get extra pickles. However, there was no burger patty. Apparently I misspoke and ordered a pickle sandwich. read more

My boyfriend was trying to be nice and get us breakfast from this location. He ordered 2 steak egg and cheese bagels. (Our favorite) and instead we got 2 bacon egg and cheese bagels that must have been sitting out for a LONG time because the bagel was so hard it was inedible. Not to mention for the first 3 months of us living near this location the carbonation was completely out so every time we ordered sodas they were terrible. Me and my son went there after we finished a job in Stephens City. We ordered two number sizes(which come with fries) and then my son got an additional free large fry with his phone app. Got our food with only 2 large fries. Son went up to get his free fry they forgot, said they would bring it out. Manager comes out with the fry about 15 minutes later. Before he hands it to us, he mutters the remark "I'm sure you all got the two large fries already". Naturally I corrected the POS manager. Just your typical old school McDonald's. Stopped in on a recent road trip to hit the restrooms and grab a quick bite. Restaurant and restrooms were clean. Service was friendly. Food was standard Mickey D's food, cooked up hot and served fairly quickly. Not recommended for a five-star gourmet meal, however it's a nice stopping point if you're on the freeway. I even won a free small coffee in the monopoly game on my bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. Score! read more

Thoroughly check our order before you leave! We have left this McDonald's multiple times with the wrong order. We've had happy meals with no cheeseburgers, missing sandwiches, not enough drinks, etc. You name it, we have probably had it happen. We have had to make multiple trips back there to get what we ordered. This morning, we ordered a steak, egg,and cheese bagel and a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit. I looked in the bag, noticed we had a bagel sandwich and a biscuit sandwich. When I got home, there was no egg on the steak, egg, and cheese and bacon on the biscuit. Management could care less and are extremely rude. I would avoid this McDonald's and eat someone else if you get off of Exit 307. Or you can drive down to Exit 310 and try that McDonald's. read more

One thing you can always say about this McDonalds is they're consistent. Consistently bad this is. I know I know, it's fast food. But if there's a way for them to screw up your order, they will find it. It's as if the employees get some sort of spiff it they can save on condiments. I rate this McDonalds a 4 because of the staff! This is a really high volume restaurant and they serve you very quickly whether it be the drive thru or walk in. Despite the seemingly young age of the staff, they seem like a really well oiled machine and move everything along so quickly. The food is standard McD's. Great staff! read more
