What could improve? Everything. The staff is horrible.! They make it seem like I'm such an inconvenience. I ask for a few things and they talk crap behind my back (in Spanish) jokes on you. I speak Spanish. And treat you like you're dumb. I went in there this morning and 1.) they had no high chairs! I asked the lady in front if they had any high chairs and with attitude she's like they should be in the back? She went looking for 1 which was nice and then talks to co worker about the high chair and gave me the one that was currently being used as a "do not disturb" for the bathroom. Ummm is it clean? I asked and they ignored me. I wiped it down with baby wipes. 2.) I asked for ketchup and salt. The guy was nice and said of course. He hands me SALSA and salt. I said... I need ketchup. And he said "I gave it to you" I showed him the packet and said, it's salsa. And he's like oh! Here you go. No apology. 3.) they shorted me my coffee! I open the cup and it's literally half poured. Many of the McDonald's do not get high ratings and some of it is justified. I have also been dissatisfied, depending on the location (to which I have never gone back). The one that I regularly go to on Devonshire, it's not bad at all, even though they are very busy, and have a lousy phone signal and WiFi. This time though, as I was driving along 118W, I went through the drive-through for breakfast at the McDonald's on Yosemite Avenue in Simi Valley. I must say I was very impressed. For one, they have a very good phone signal, so using the app is so much smoother. All the lines moved pretty steadily, you didn't have to wait to place your order and everything was ready without a delay. Service was excellent. read more

I haven't been in McDonalds for a long time but I was very pleasantly surprised today. I was getting gas next door at the gas station and was starving. I ordered a Big Mac. It was absolutely wonderful. I removed it from the box and it literally looked at least a good as the menu board depicted it. It's always been an issue for me ordering fast food and the crap they serve you doesn't even loosely resemble what you thought you were going to get, but not today. Great job. read more

This McDonalds used to be one of the best. It is a mile from my home and I've been here thousands of times since they opened 30 years ago. The food is okay and the restaurant still looks clean and is in good condition, but the customer service is TOTAL GARBAGE. The staff is short with customers, rude and they flat out refuse to help their customers order without the Kiosk. I sat for 45 minutes and watched at least 9 different customers come up to their register-blocking sign: asking to place order with a person. Staff told all of them they are not allowed to take orders anymore, just kiosk and phone orders. All 9 looked disappointed with staff's remarks, 5 reluctantly went to order from Kiosk, two forced the staff to reluctantly take their order, and two just left. This policy, from what I saw, is very tough on the elderly and foreign speaking customers. The McDonald's management and staff can apparently care less! Apparently the family that owns this restaurant owns a couple more in the area that has the same policy and same 2 star rating!!! What a mess!!! read more

Today was the last straw with this McDonald's location. I sat in the drive-thru for 15 minutes behind a car whose driver was outside of their vehicle chatting with the employee at the window. The driver kept pulling out her phone, talking, and taking her sweet time. I honked and politely asked if she could go inside, as the line was piling up behind us. Neither the employee nor the driver acknowledged me or the growing line of cars. When I finally reached the window, I was told they were "helping the customer understand how to navigate the app." Excuse me? Since when does learning the app take priority over the entire drive-thru line? When my food isn't ready, I'm asked to pull aside. Yet, it's okay for seven cars to wait while an employee gives a full-on app tutorial? When I politely voiced my concerns, the drive-thru employee, Daisy, gave me serious attitude. I asked to speak with a manager. That's when Xeomara came to the window. She was not only dismissive and rude, but practically blamed me for questioning why a personal app lesson was happening during peak hours at the drive-thru. She refused to give me the District Manager's contact information and wouldn't even tell me the other employee's name. She mumbled something in another language and, when I asked for the store's number to report the incident, she yanked a coffee cup and said, "The number's on the cup," before walking off. Sadly, this isn't the first bad experience. This location consistently messes up drive-thru orders. When I've called to resolve it, I'm met with attitude, and they promise to "add my name" for a replacement--only for them to later claim they never did and refuse to honor it. Do better. I was unable to place an order today because an unprofessional manager, Leslie, refused to take my order and insisted that I use the kiosk. However, I am unable to see the kiosk. Under ADA and California law, accommodations are required. While I was standing at the two registers, the situation escalated into a shouting match in a restaurant full of people--an embarrassing exchange. When I asked for the manager, Leslie came out and claimed there were only two employees working. She also said she was making my order, even though I had not placed one. I had only requested a drink. She then went back into the office and slammed the door. Minutes later, I called the restaurant, and a different female employee answered, identifying herself as the actual manager. This behavior is inexcusable, and Leslie should be fired. The people of Simi Valley should not have to deal with this level of service. I will be reporting this McDonald's to advocate for the disabled community. read more

A lot of people were making hate comments on this McDonald's, and I'm really surprised because fortunately I live 30 seconds away from this McDonalds, go there daily, and it's GREAT! These hate comments make no sense. Now, always when we go through the drive thru, the staff gives me a lot of time to order and I don't feel rushed. Always at the next two windows, the staff always wishes me a good day. I make sure to say you as well. I also go there because my little brother goes to McDonald's to collect the toys in the HappyMeals but he eats the food as well and he says it is GREAT. I used to live in Costa Mesa, but the food at this McDonald's here in Simi has way better customer service and the staff is way more polite. The staff always makes sure to make everyone feel like they're welcome here. I can't pick to promote a single person because they are all great. A lot of the one star reviews have probably been there for one day and aren't used to how this works, but everyone who put five stars is familiar with this routine and how THEY make everyone feel welcome. Also, at the Drive Thru, the speed that my food was delivered was so FAST. I kid you not I could order 1000000 burgers and it would already be ready by the time I got to the food window! Even when I went inside, clean chairs, clean tables, the only thing you guys could improve though is new urinals. The ones you guys have don't flush. Horrible experience went in to order a M&M McFlurry upon receiving my McFlurry in a paper cup. I asked if I can get it in a plastic cup as advertised. The service attendant acted like she didn't hear me and pointed to the manager. The manager switched the paper cup to a plastic cup, upon receiving my McFlurry once again, he dropped it on the counter and ended up spilling it, then proceeded to scoop up. The spilled portion placed the lid back on and tried to hand it to me like that. I was so upset. I left it on the counter and walked out even after paying for it. Staff are not exactly warm but I find the service competent and as quick as possible. I use the self serve kiosk to order and garner points, a small price reduction. It's a bit difficult to scan your phone code into the kiosk and it doesn't issue receipt. Food is hot and well prepared. The staff is always busy, the beeps going off in the kitchen to get people out of the drive thru. McDonald's has certainly gotten expensive over the years, yikes. The disinterest of the staff is a cultural phenomenon of the times, but I love McDonald's fries. read more

Was driving home from dropping someone off at airport and sausage egg McMuffin sounded good- for fast food. There was a line for drive thru but I thought wait time was ok. I had a question about cost of orange juice and person where I paid was very polite and explained. Got food and decided to eat in car since it would have been cold when I got home. I had come by to get food for my family on 9/23 at 10:10pm i know i was cutting it close for closing time but the dude tht took my order couldn't understand what I was telling him over the mic so i pulled up to the window to order, i asked for the 40pcs and 2large fries meal for $25 and i had my code tht gave me 20% off but somehow still ended up paying for price with coupon included. So I assign stars and comments within the context of the genre. People, it's McDonalds! It isn't Lawry's or Mastro's. It's fast food. It should be something you eat on the road so you can leave the house and grab something during your road trip. It's road trip food. Or at least I think it ought to be. Here's what I like about this store: It's clean. Really clean. The floors are spotless. The trash is not overflowing. The restrooms are well stocked and sparkling. The beverage fountain is wiped down, there's plenty of ice, and they weren't out of any flavors. There are plenty of supplies; straws, lids, napkins, etc. It is well staffed. The managers are evident, often running the food. They take that food seriously, too. As if we just paid 100 bucks for it. The automated ordering is easy. I like to order that way. I'll leave the lines and counter ordering for the luddites. I took a table tent number and they brought my food promptly. The order was correct. It is roomy, modern, and comfortable. The banquettes in the booths are positioned a comfortable distance from the tables. There are plenty of tables with movable chairs. As usual, there are annoying diners. You know, the guy sitting at the best booth, talking on his speaker phone, loud enough we can hear it all. He talks to his esposa, his niño, his abuela. I didn't miss a thing. Either he thought he was the only person in the whole wide world or... more realistically, he didn't give a shit. The effed up part was, the guy was an employee on his break. Not a good look for a restaurant that presents so well otherwise. He was deeply ensconced with his phone and it's uncool to rag on rude people, so we figured the best we could do was to move. Luckily there's plenty of options to do so. I deducted one star for management being loose enough to allow their clueless employees to lounge at a table for six and impose their entire posse upon unsuspecting guests. One buzz kill that seems ubiquitous at McDonald's in general, are timer alarms. Beep! Fries are done. Buzz shake is churned. Honk coffee's brewed. Thankfully, the staff are on top of all that and the noise pollution does not last too long. Contrast this to the one in Camarillo. OMG the employees are deaf to all that and I leave on the edge of insanity all for nothing but an iced tea. So, knowing that all McDs are noise factories, they do well here. If I were to have a complaint about the food, the fries were warm but not hot. I wasn't there for the fries anyway, but given that McD's fries turn into grease sticks when cold, the longer they're hot, the better. I don't order at the counter if I can help it and I usually don't drive thru any restaurant or even Starbucks. Why? I avoid all human contact on general principles. Even though I'm going to hell for using self checkout at grocery stores, I'll make my social statements some other way. So... other than the aforementioned, I have no comments about the customer service. So stop for gas and a car wash up above and go get a painless Big Mac at this nice clean place. We placed our order on the McDonalds App we ordered a medium fries, 10 piece nuggets a large drink and a happy meal and 2 sweet and sour sauces. We placed the order for us to walk inside of the restaurant and pick in up at the counter. When we arrived all the doors were locked with the lights on. I then walked around trying to find a way to get in but all doors were locked. We decided to go through the drive through and tell them we placed our order but everything was locked. She found our order and told us to meet her at the second window. This Women at the order machine was very rude, and spoke little english . We asked if our food could be remade because we were locked out for so long and wanted our food to be warm. The lady told us there was no need to remake it and that she would see us at the second window. A little while after we pull up to the second window and she starts handing us our drink and our small drink that comes with the happy meal. We asked if we could get 1 hot mustered sauce she says yes and give us our happy meal and bag of food. We wanted to check to make sure everything was there before we drove away. We were missing our 2 sweet and sours which was no big deal so we just asked for the sauce. the lady walked away and came back telling us we had to pay for them. We told her we already payed for them and they were on our recipe. She said we would have to pay if we wanted anymore sauce because the 2 Hot mustards took place for the sweet and sour sauce. So we handed her one hot mustard and asked for a sweet and sour, she gave us one sweet and sour as trade for 1 hot mustard. As we were checking our food we also realized everything in our happy meal bag was so cold and there was no warmth to the food at all. So we asked tif our fries in our happy meal could be remade. She said yes and got us fries that were much warmer. McDonalds is slowly starting to become one of those business that don't care about their customers. You can't even go inside and order at the counter and talk to a person you have to order everything through a Kiosk or on your phone.
