We dine inside at least five days a week, routinely dropping hard-earned cash at this location. Because of my son's special needs, structure and routine aren't just preferences--they are absolute medical necessities. Deviations from the plan can cause immediate, intense distress. ​On our most recent excursion, having already spent $25 on our meal, we approached the counter midway through dinner to request a simple beverage refill. Because this location lacks self-service machines, one is forced to petition the staff like a medieval peasant begging the local magistrate for grain. ​The verdict from behind the counter? Request denied! ​When they claimed this was a strict "new directive" from the district manager, I naturally expressed some healthy skepticism. The young shift manager confidently countered with, "I can show you the text messages." Intrigued by this sudden offer of corporate transparency, I replied, "OK, show me the texts." ​Instantly, the bravado vanished. The manager became completely incredulous, snapped back with, "I'm not showing you any texts," and clamped down. It was a spectacular display of playground bluffing masquerading as professional management. ​With half a meal left and a special needs child on the verge of a completely avoidable crisis, I was forced to pull out my wallet and buy two entirely new drinks just to finish our dinner. When I calmly informed the staff that this petty nickeling-and-diming would earn them a scathing online review, the situation devolved from greedy to downright unhinged. The staff immediately accused me of "threatening their business." ​Let's be entirely clear: a customer stating they will share a factual, public account of their consumer experience is called a review. If a $25 order, a request for a refill, and being held to your own offer of "proof" via text message "threatens" your franchise's structural integrity, perhaps your business model is far more fragile than your ice cream machine. ​To management: Congratulations on saving 40 cents worth of fountain soda at the absolute guarantee of losing a five-day-a-week regular customer. I never received my curbside order. I waited 15 minutes. I went in and there was a slew of people waiting. No organization whatsoever. I asked the employee why is it taking so long? I was not alone. There were a number of people lined up complaining. One family waited over 40 minutes for their food. When a manager came over, I got nothing but attitude. His response was, "well it's obvious we are busy. You are just going to have to wait". Really? I am appalled as to the way I was treated as well as the rest of the people that had to wait. The end result was I had to leave. I never got my order. This is not the first time I had an issue at this location. I highly suggest you drive an additional 5 minutes up the road and go to the Crest Hill location and avoid this location at all costs. I placed a mobile order for a glazed donut and three cookies. Went through the drive through and pulled away, checked the bag to find 1 bag with 1 cookie in it, another bag with 2 cookies in it, but no donut to be seen in the bag. took my receipt inside and the lady was rude and told me no. I asked if I should bring the bag inside to prove I have no donut, she said no. Then said they don't have any donuts. I don't like that every time I go through the drive- thru I order gets messed up. I either get the wrong items or they don't put the correct dressings on my sandwich. I beg you to make sure the correct order is given before handing it to customer. If customer is in a hurry and doesn't check it's on them but if you don't ask them when handing them their order it's on you. Same thing if sitting in the restaurant to eat the meal. Does nobody check anymore before giving it's just how fast it goes out and not the correct items to be right? read more

Got dinner to go at this location the other night, and we got home to find they'd messed up 2 out of 3 of the sandwiches. My daughter's burger was supposed to have cheese, extra pickles. Instead, it had bacon. Just bacon. She wouldn't eat it. I paid extra to have tomato on my cheese burger. Yeah, there wasn't a tomato, or the toppings that usually come on it (onions specifically). Simply the best McDonald's near me. Very clean, fast and friendly service. Most of the McDonald's in my area has undergone remodeling recently, and I think this one got a very good architect. It has a cozy friendly atmosphere, making it a favorite stop for seniors, who sometimes come in groups. I stop by every now and then on my way home from the gym. If you order from the self-order kiosk they even bring your food to your table. However, if you don't see lines in the counter, I'd go there for a faster, more personalized service. The self order kiosk can be confusing and makes you think a lot on which button to press next. It needs reprogramming to make it more user friendly. I see not too many people use i read more

This mc donald's has to be the WORST mc donald's i've ever been to. I have been silent about this bad service until this time. This time, I ordered 2 happy meals and 2 mc doubles and drinks with that. In the car, my daughter was about to eat her happy meal, but the first thing she noticed was 2 ants crawling in her happy meal. I was disgusted. When I got home, I unpacked the food for myself and my husband, until I realized i'm only unpacking food for my husband. They forgot the mcdouble. I requested barbecue and ranch for the 2 happy meal sauces. There was no sauce at all. The drinks couldn't be worse. I ordered a sweet tea for my daughter, a fanta for myself, and a sprite for my husband. I was so focused on the ants in my daughter's happy meal, I didn't see the drink mistake until I was home because I was driving. They did not give me a sweet tea, they gave me an unsweetened tea. The person who designed this drive-thru must have been some kind of genius. You have two drive-thru lanes, but they funnel back into one lane to hit one window (where you pay) and then the second window (where half the time they give you the wrong bag because they've anticipated that you and the other person would get in line in the opposite order). Argh! Just rip the second speaker out already and be like every other fast food place! It clearly doesn't work. The only place I ever saw two lanes work was an Arby's in Dunning that had an old and extremely Rube Goldberg-looking elevator device that conveyed the bag of food out to the second lane...but that was more efficient than this! Give it up already, McDonald's. I just want my sausage biscuit without wondering which part of the transaction you're going to screw up. read more

Was told it was a corporate decision....found out that it was not an McD Corporate decision, but the owner operator decision. I guess it's always good to drop healthier type menu items. But so much for trying to have a few items good for one...if you want an egg white delight go up to Renwick Road ( light just after this McD) go right to Route 59 to a McD in Plainfield...they still carry the egg white delight! As a note, this McD is only about 1/2 mile further from my home than the Romeoville store....it's kind of a win for me! read more

I spent a long day at the lake and was feeling like picking up a Caramel Mocha on my way home. It's summer, and knowing that McDonald's sells Ice drink versions of their specialty drinks, I made absolutely sure to say "I'd like a medium Hot Caramel Mocha" when ordering after pulling up to the drive-thru speaker. I was given my amount due and was asked to pull up to the first window. Since no one else was in line, I expected this to be a quick visit. I stopped at window 1 and the man inside said "$3.06", so I handed him three singles, a nickel and a penny. I always wait for confirmation when giving correct change since sometimes, it's difficult to hear what your bill is over those speakers. In this case, the cashier said nothing after taking my money. So I sat there until he noticed me not moving and said "Pull up". No confirmation, not even a "thank you". I don't think that's too much to ask in ANY commercial transaction, but I pull up to the next window anyway. Now a young teen opens the window and hands me, as you may have already guessed, an iced caramel mocha. Immediate disappointment. I politely tell him that it wasn't what I ordered and told him I specifically said "hot" when ordering. Poor kid must've been new because he looked like a deer in the headlights as if to say "uh-oh...NOW what do I do?!" Instead, he replied "but that's what the machine poured!", perhaps hoping I'd just take it and a crisis would be averted. Unfortunately, I don't like Iced drinks and so I repeated that it wasn't what I ordered. He turned to his manager to inform him of our dilemma. Now the manager comes to the window and ask what the problem is, Iced Mocha in hand. Once again, I repeat my simple order after which I receive a momentary stare, eye roll and foot stomp over to the Mocha machine to make what I asked for in the first place. One simple drink. Open your ears and *listen* to your customers, Romeoville McDonald's (on Weber Rd)...but more importantly, don't treat them like sh*t when you screw up, either. That tends to offend us and send us to another establishment in the future. I still like McDonald's...just not yours. read more

We have been living in the area for over 10yrs and try the best we can to AVOID this place if we can. The customer service is terrible. They frequently get the order wrong. They also have the tendency to serve food that have been sitting for a while and probably re-use oil for the 10th time, you can taste it with the food. The coffee is either burnt or watered down if you get iced one. The drive thru is one of the slowest I've seen and they are consistent with that. There is lack of engagement in all area of this store. read more

Placed my order with the lady and she charged me for my order but I was given the wrong order at the window, once I explained my order wasnt correct I was told I need to pay additional 2.75 but why when I gave the correct money at the 1st window. The rude girl at the 1st window is now at the 2nd window arguing with me about the money I gave her when my items in my bad are completely wrong. Next the big black manger comes to the window to also argue about my order. He sided with the girl at the window when he wasnt even around when I gave my money to the young lady. Ordered on the app like I always do. Pulled up to the drive thru speaker and provided my code. The person did not pull it up on the screen as usual. I proceeded to the first window. The cashier could not find my order. She asked me to confirm I was at the correct McDonald's. I double checked the application and my credit card. Both showed the order and correct location. I asked her if I should drive around again just in case there was a delay in the application sending the order. She said yes and I drove around again. The second time I approached the first window she confirmed that she did find my order and provided a receipt. I drove to the second window. They hand me someone else's food. I honk. No response. Eventually, someone comes back to the window to see what I wanted. I informed them that I was given the wrong order. I gave all the food back and showed my receipt. I was asked to pull up to the door. I requested that my receipt be returned. The employee informs me that she gave it to her manager to fix. I pull up to the door. An employee brings out the wrong food again! That employee said that I could come inside to get my order fixed for the second time. I walk up to the counter and place the food down. I inform the employee that I was given the wrong food again. She requests my receipt. I inform her that her manager has my receipt and that they took it at the second window. Two other employees approach me and inform me that I ordered my food on the app 30 minutes ago and I left my food. What!?! It had been 30 minutes at that point because I was told to go to the drive thru again and I was given the wrong food two times. Then a manager approached me and asked for my receipt. I told her that the employee at the second window gave my receipt to her manager which I assume was her. She didn't have it. I pull the order up on my phone. I show what I ordered on the app. I prove I paid via credit card as the money was already taken out of my account. The manager used my phone to make my order again. It took 45 minutes to get the correct order. I am giving two stars since it was eventually corrected, but I was given a very hard time when attempting to pick up food I ordered in the app. I am never returning to this location and I live across the street. Terrible service. I was exposed to 5 different employees and 1 other customer for a prolonged period of time. I pray no one had covid. Never again. read more
