Terrible customer service!! Especially from a worker named Myles or something like that, my husband was told to wait in front for our food to be brought out and waited 30 minutes for our food to be brought out and the food was never brought out to us, my husband had to go inside to get it and was told by the worker "here's your f*cking food" and my husband reminded him we were missing our drinks and he then said "hold on I'm getting your f*cking drinks" i understand it must've been a bad day or time but definitely not how he should've reacted that way especially since my husband was being very nice about our food not being brought out to us. To top it all off of course our food was cold and we were not given all of the correct food. Definitely never returning there. After i placed my order i seen that my food was being made with NO GLOVES ON. one of the managers had NO GLOVES ON AT ALL! But the worker did. She just cross contaminated my food! If you plan on touching food make sure you have a scooper for the nuggets and a spatula to pick up the food! read more

I really tried not to give a review because I believed that all would get better. Every since they opened their breakfast hours at 5 am, it has not been that on many days. I would get to the drive thru and have to wait at least 15 mins before my order is taken. There are times when no one came and I drove off as with others customers waiting did the same. Then when I did get my order it was wrong. Today I ordered a # 5 meal (bacon cheese mc griddle) for breakfast and was charged $8.01. Finally, when I received my order and drove off without checking because I had already waited over 15 mins (again), my order was wrong. They gave me a sausage/mc muffin meal. So, I was charged more for something I don't even like. I couldn't go back since I I was an 1.5. hours away. Ugh. I gave only 2 stars because most of the mornings I have encountered friendly staff, but the overall service of this Mc Donalds is poor. Please hire enough dependable staff to service your customer load. There are many of us out at 5am ready to get our day started. I have visited McDonalds all over the country since my first visit to the Crystal Lake, IL site on Rt. 14 in 1959. Not one of them ever told me their ice cream machine wasn't working..until the one on 7th. in Rochelle. Many times I've waited in their drive up lanes (also the slowest in the country) only to be told the Ice Cream machine is not working. There is another McDonalds in town near Rt. 39. Their ice cream machine is never broken; their drive up line moves along and their employees seem alert and efficient. There is also a Culvers and an independently owned drive thru restaurant. They have hand dipped ice cream. Or, go to Wendy's or Arby's. Go to any of those other places; they deserve your dollars. read more

This is by far the worst McDonald's solely based on the amount of time you are in the drive thru. It's one of the few places to get food late night so it's really the only reason I continue to come here. It's so frustrating to come to a FAST food drive thru and are always waiting in line from start to finish for over 30 min. Less than one star if I could. After learning I have been charged $2.19 instead of $1.50 on my iced coffee for months, maybe longer. I said something to the cashier. At first only concerned with fixing today's pricing issue and my fault for not looking at receipts in the past. When the cashier (blonde w/ pink highlights) was asked she said $2.19 was the correct price according to the computer, my response was according to the menu board behind you it's $1.50 She called for a manager assistance and the management acted as if I was the only person who had ever noticed that this McDonalds was overcharging or could possible ever make a mistake. I told her I thought I had said something to a blonde morning manager a few months ago about the price and I could have sworn the problem was fixed. Maybe I'm wrong but I digress, the manager told me they did not have a blonde manager. I said huh, I see her most days, she dresses it a more professional attire than most of the other employees, I guess I assumed she was a manager. The manager on duty said just charge him for something else ( I couldn't here the exact details) and wandered the back of the kitchen. Today's total today was $1.07 less than the last visit, same order and I think the last several times. I do vary my order so I don't pay that close of attention, which is my fault. During this conversation with the cashier and myself and my debit card processing the reduced (closer to correct pricing), she left the register to fulfill another customers order and turn to him, handled him coffee and said " Happy Friday huh?!?" at this point, my short fuse is burning red hot. I said loudly, it is a happy F**kin friday even if people steal from you, right? Not my proudest moment as an adult, she responds you don't need to cuss sir to which I responded sometimes to be heard people need to raise their voice to cut through the nonsense and the noise. I continued, BOTTOM LINE - what your company is doing is called THEFT, I don't care that you don't like that and I don't care if you are somehow offended, I got your attention and maybe now you will help to fix the problem. The ongoing problems with slow order fulfillment doesn't bother me, the employees that have a general comatose look on their faces most days, doesn't bother me. What bothers me is management acting like this is NO big deal and then when I have the audacity to ask for the district managers phone number it requires an additional 2-3 min conversation to find out this is a privately owned franchise and they don't give out a number. The manager says she will not give me a number and that I can call McDonalds directly, the phone number is on the website sir or fill out the survey on my receipt. (BTW I noticed I was NOT given a receipt for today once I arrived at work) This is NOT acceptable, what the ___________ has happened to this company. I know they are not well known for the best food or service but this is crazy. I'm am estimating that over the last 90 days I have been overcharged at least $40 not going to ruin my life or even my weekend however I refuse to believe that I am the only person who orders iced coffee and noticed they are being overcharged. I will not return to this location EVER which is probably just fine by the employees which is part of the problem. Until employees including managers are heard accountable for basic customer service this type of decline with continue at all types of brick and mortar stores. The idea that oh well, good enough does not build companies, it's destroys them. I sincerely hope that someone in an actual position of authority within McDonalds actually takes a good look at how this store is managed. As a consumer this type of push back is needed to make any type of change, then again maybe I am just wasting my breathe feeling like I should get what I am advertised and pay the price that is posted. For most of the McDonald's I have visited I have never had a problem, but I will never visit this McDonald's again. I visited this McDonald's twice and was treated like a dog. Once the food was the wrong order. The second time, I was a penny short and the woman told me I should get out of my car in the drive thru and pick a penny off the ground. She laughed about it. I drive pass this stop often and refuse to stop. I stop at the Dekalb Oasis, where I do not have this problem at that McDonald's. read more

I am very unhappy with this McDonalds service. We waited a little over five minutes before we were next to order in the drive through, but after each item I ordered there was a long pause before a response of them asking me to repeat myself. Also when I went to order drinks I asked for styrofoam cups for my soda, but I was told their only for teas. So I told her to cancel the drinks since the regular large McDonald cups in my car always spill all over the floor after I turn. I asked twice after that statement if I didn't want my drinks. If I could give a 0 rating I would. They recently renovated the entire building, inside and out, but the real problems have always gone much deeper than the surface. The wait times are horrible for what you'd expect at McDonald's. It's not uncommon to be sitting in line for 10, 15 minutes or longer. You sit there wondering at what point you should leave, but then you've waited so long already, you just decide to wait it out. The order accuracy is below average. It's really sad, because alot of this stems from being understaffed, and the workers are apathetic. read more

I spent 27 minutes at this McDonald's yesterday to get a sandwich and drink. I went through the drive through where I spent the majority of my wait. I ordered a Grilled Chicken Artisan sandwich without tomato and a large unsweetened Iced Tea. When I paid, the employee repeated my exact order making certain that's what I ordered. It was correct. After receiving my order I pulled ahead to check it (because there was a line wrapped around the building behind me). I had a chicken patty, piece of tomato and lettuce in a container, no bun. I went inside, with my receipt, which had my order written correctly, to get what I ordered. A nice gentleman in line saw me walk in and immediately said, "Uh oh, someone got the wrong order, it happens here all the time!" He pointed to a man and said he's the boss then proceeded to tell him I needed help. He asked what was wrong, I told him. He started talking to another employee about it then took me over to the cash register to ring me out again. After giving me another sandwich he said, I'm sorry I have to admit by that time I expected to be offered a coupon for a free drink or something. While driving home I took a drink of my tea, it was Sweetened Tea! Really? I had an extremely easy order!
