Especially great if you want to just grab some of their coffee beans or get a morning coffee/drink. Perfect for your fix without having to go into downtown. Small amount of parking but they do have a few spots. As other reviews have mentioned the inside is very small with space for one worker behind the counter and at most maybe 4 customers to fit. No inside seats but some tables nearby the parking if weather is nice enough. They have a large majority of drinks you'd expect a coffee spot to have along with a special available most likely. The current special was "Hey Bay Latte" which was a bay leaf, orange zest, and brown sugar. I thought it had a great combination of flavor and was well made. My wife got an iced mocha latte and enjoyed it. It did not become her new favorite but thought it was a solid version. If you are looking for a bite to eat, check out another Speckled Ax location Despite the small space it is well utilized and they have enough decorations and wall art to give it some vibes. Some great artwork on the building's walls outside as well. Great coffee roaster worth supporting!

It's not a cafe; there's no seating inside (it's barely big enough for three or four people to stand). With loads of parking both in their lot and in the neighborhood, it's a perfect place for you to grab and go for beans, different brewed coffees, or even a specialty latte. Speckled Ax isn't my preferred coffee, but I appreciate this location and love that it serves the Greater Portland population. If you were coming into/leaving town via 302, this could easily become your go-to local independent coffee shop!

It's off the beaten path and not somewhere I would've stumbled upon naturally. I went around noon on a Friday and there were a couple of people in line but it moved quickly and there wasn't much of a wait. It's a cute little shop--standing room only--and I liked the vibe a lot. They provide complimentary infused water while you wait and there is a gender-neutral restroom available. In addition to food and smoothies, there are tie dye tshirts and treats for the pup for sale. The person taking my order (I'm guessing the owner) was pleasant and welcomed me for my first visit. I ordered the Tropicali Blues smoothie (minus the banana), and it did not disappoint! I'm looking forward to visiting again and working my way through their menu. They provide a punch card, which is even more incentive for me to keep coming back. Grateful for another tasty local business!

I don't know why I always thought it was a TINY little place, like a converted itty bitty cottage or something. I mean it looked fine, like a unique independent coffee place but I'm so glad I came here today, visiting Portland from our home a half hour away. It's a very BIG comfortable space, converted house with multiple rooms and really generous layout. Lots of people, but room for everyone with varied seating spaces, great for social hang, solitary chillin or getting down to work on laptop or what not. Great vibe, nice looking drinks menu, a few baked/pastry options in case, friendly counter people. I got a very solid iced coffee. Highly recommend!

I had forgotten to write a review after that experience so we needed to revisit eventually. Today was that day as we were in the area. Location wise I would say it is perfect tucked away not in the hustle and bustle of downtown. They have a small parking lot as well as plenty street parking. We went inside and I got their Cozy Latte which was cinnamon and cardamom latte while my wife got their Flower Power which is lavender and honey. Both were quite tasty and well made. Besides their seasonal drinks they appeared to have all the typically drinks you'd expect. To go along with our drinks I grabbed a chocolate croissant and my wife got a piece of their rosemary kale & pepper quiche. Both of these were tasty bites but do wish they would have been warmed up. Not sure if this would have been an option as they did not ask if we wanted them warm. Only real knock against the food was that. Good variety overall of food options. They are huge supporters of local creators and had a handful inside with jewelry and pottery available for sale. Great to see local supporting local! Overall we enjoy Coveside, although I do believe some other spots more based on coffee drinks. It is definitely a cozy and inviting space worth your time to visit. Also if you are a fan of books checkout the little library out front!

The service prompt, cordial, but you must go up to the counter to order your food. You must get your own napkins, bus your own table. I ordered the "northern Thai curry" dish. Chicken thigh cold, flavorless. The curry sauce owed any spice to the sliced Bermuda onion. No curry evident. The noodles matched the chicken for temperature (lukewarm) and flavor (none). The potatoes were perfectly crispy and came with a flavorful garlic mayo. The açaí bowl was rich with generous toppings of fresh fruit and granola that added a nice crunch. The portions were very generous too. We'll definitely be back!

With not wanting to go into the old port this was the perfect option. Located on Forest Ave, we got extremely lucky for a Saturday morning and got parking directly in front. We also got here at a good time with no line/rush. Walked right up to order and waited less than 5 minutes for our drinks. First look at the menu they have all the coffee shop favorites you'd expect to see. The specials instantly caught my eye today because they had Honey Lavender Latte & Matcha. I knew my wife would want one of those. We both settled on an iced latte version of that. Tasty and well made drinks. We had already had breakfast otherwise a breakfast sandwich would have been the perfect addition. They also had some baked goods, Avacado toast as well as some other food options. The space is quite large with a variety of seating including a few tables outside and quite a few window seats too. As mentioned in some other reviews the windows are large so any of the window seats offer great views outside. A great set up overall. A coffee shop we will keep in our rota

Looking for a Saturday morning coffee and breakfast sandwich we decided to finally check it out. Parking lot has plenty of spaces. Once inside you will see it is quite small in size, but does have a small amount of seating for those looking to eat/drink there. The menu boards were overwhelming at first but a large majority of it is their lunch sandwich/wrap offerings. I did appreciate the options you can choose from bread wise and other customizations you can make. Drink wise my wife went with The Lavender iced latte and I got the iced Snickerdoodle. Both were extremely flavorful and were well made. Either one and I suspect any of their other drink would be a no brainer to get again. Breakfast wise we each got a sausage, egg, & cheese on a bagel. Which those came out steaming hot and were made well too. Will need to return to give their breakfast burritos a try! Service was friendly and both food an drinks arrived quickly. Also another note on service, when originally ordering they forgot to discount us for a BOGO deal they have going but when I went up to grab the drinks they said they removed one of the drinks to make it right and apologized. This will be a spot my wife and I will return to for both the drinks and food. We did end grabbing 2 of the 3 window seats and do wish it had no painting on the windows so we could watch outside better. It's a space that isn't trying to be over the top or blow your mind with the vibes but they deliver delicious food and good drinks for you with friendly and fast service.

They have a few parking spots so if you are going with someone and can't find anything I would lowkey have them wait for a spot. The staff are really friendly but make sure you know what you want. We got the Biscuit Sandwich, this is heated up but they give it to you right away. There was nothing special about this it tasted basic maybe even a little salty. Now my favorite was definitely the Loaded Biscuit. This was a perfect savory sweet combo but I do wish the biscuit itself was a little softer. The Sticky Bun was good, I'm not a huge sweets fan so this wasn't anything special for me. We also got the Blueberry Pie and this was unexpectedly good. I wasn't expecting much but the cold blueberry really hit the spot. The crust was amazing and it made me appreciate a good pie. For drinks we got a Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte, it was pretty small for $6 I would say and didn't have any strong flavor. Overall, worth a try because it does have some more interesting bakery breakfast items but I definitely wouldn't wait in that line again.
