The kid's area always smells like feet, while the seats and tables throughout the restaurant are often sticky or dirty, creating an unsanitary atmosphere overall. Once, my brother hid a Chicken McNugget under the couch, and when we found it months later, it looked brand new, which definitely didn't make me want to eat there again. It's been years since I've eaten a chicken nugget from there because I once bit into something hard and bonelike. I would not recommend the McDonald's on Henderson in Porterville because I have had disappointing experiences there. The food is sometimes cold, and they have gotten my order wrong or forgotten items that I paid for. The line can also be super long, so you end up waiting a long time for your food. The restrooms are not always very clean either, which makes the experience even worse. The ice cream machine also seems to never be working whenever I want to order something from it. There was a young employee working the front counter on Saturday, July 18, around 8:00 p.m. I went in to redeem a free cheeseburger using my rewards points. When I gave my information, she told me she couldn't find my order. I politely showed her the email confirmation and offered to open the order in the app as well. She asked if it was just a screenshot, and I explained that it wasn't and that I could show her the live order in the app. Without much explanation, she walked away. When she returned, she told me that the person who placed the order had to physically be at the restaurant for it to "pop up." I had placed the order about 20 minutes earlier, so that didn't make sense. My husband then spoke with her and explained the same thing--that it was my order for a cheeseburger redeemed with my rewards points. What bothered me most was how I felt I was being treated. I may not have looked my best that evening, but I have never stolen anything, and I certainly wouldn't try to steal a free cheeseburger that I had legitimately redeemed with my own points. I left feeling embarrassed and judged instead of helped. I understand that technology can have issues, but customer service matters. A little patience, communication, and respect would have made this situation much easier. read more
