Cold fries, questionable cleanliness (and my minimum is Motel 6 so I'm not a germaphobe), and inattention to detail get this location a not so hot rating. Staff is nice enough, meets my minimum smile requirement for any establishment (the cheerleader in me will never die), but there is always somebody new being trained. Plus - they always have the cool toys. Minus - they might only have the girls toys left for your boy! Drive through accuracy rate is hovering around a 6. It's taken months but I've finally weaned my 5 year old off McDonald's chicken nuggest for the Organic Gluten Free kind at Whole Foods. So parents, it is possible. Yes, there will be tears involved, but they'll dry up. I am sooo sick of getting cold food from McDonalds. This Lakeville location is notorious. Today was no exception. Our french fries were ice cold, hard and chewy. Like they had sat for hours. And I'm not sure how you can screw up chicken nuggets but omg. They were old, cold and disgusting. I have never seen such horrible nuggets in my entire life. I wish I could give this place no stars. I've ordered from here on DoorDash multiple times. The last 2 times were about an hour before they close at night and it still says you can order from them and they're open. I ordered food and had a dasher go there to pick it up. The dasher said that she was banging on the door and the window to get the order and the workers just looked at her and went back to mopping up the floor. I go to this McDonald's everyday and I never get bad service or bad food/drinks! I get better service here than at Starbucks or any other fast food place! They know my name! That's how often I go. The customer service is great! They probably deal with a lot of mean people all day. I understand how it can be frustrating. Give them a chance! They try to be nice. These 5 stars are not for Mcdonalds the entity and also not for this location solely. These 5 stars are for the awesome woman who works the drive-thru and even though its been over a year since she has seen me (I no longer work in the area) she recognized me and asked how I have been. She is wonderful and incredibly personable. I absolutely adore her. For all the bad customer service experiences I have had at fast food chains in general, this woman reminds me that sometimes there's a gem buried in that mess and when you manage to sift one out you need to count that blessing no matter how small it may seem. When you get excellent service like this woman provides it feels good and considering the lack of good service out there, you need to appreciate every ounce of great service you get. Its precious and somewhat rare. I used to see her every morning during the week on my way to work, she got to know me so well that I wouldn't even have to order, she would recognize my voice and tell me what I wanted, perfectly every time. She deserves a promotion with a nice substantial raise, a long relaxing vacation and a spectacular retirement when shes ready. She works hard and honestly, shes earned it!!!! Worst McDonald's I've been to, went through the drive through ordered our food for the family, went over the order 3 times, then were have to wait for our food in the parking space, and it wasn't even a busy time. Then I had to go inside because what she read back to us that would be coming in the second bag wasn't correct, then having to go inside and repeat myself 3 more times what wasn't in the bag and what's supposed to be in the second bag. So after 15 min or so of just waiting they give me the second bag and when we get home my wife got the wrong breakfast sandwich and the food sucked! Obviously bad management, didn't even apologize for the wait or offer free fries or drink or anything! This is one of the reasons I have stopped eating fast food! The customer service sucks harry goose balls! My husband and I dined in one night. The juvenile male spent the whole time taking our order halfway turned around talking to the the female behind him in spanish as she cleaned the soda counter. My husband ordered one of their angus burgers with no pickles and he got the mother load of pickles. So he brings it back and instead of making him a new one they took it behind the counter and just took the pickles off. WTF??!! When I was actually looking for work I applied because we all know fast food will hire. Well this place actually wont hire you unless you speak spanish or look like you do (I'm Asian by the way). I put in my application with over 5 years customer service experience. I was told by the employee because the manager wouldn't get out of her office to even talk to me, when there is an opening I'll get a call. A week later I go back to see if she would talk to me this time. Nope, employee sent out to me again to say the same thing, I'll get a call when they are hiring. Finally I get a real job somewhere else. We go back to this McDonalds and I see 3 new employees. Funny cuz I never got a phone call. To top it off, my current spanish speaking co-worker told me how she used to work here and the manager was so rude she quit without notice and didn't care since they are always hiring. For clarity this review is indicative of my experience at the McDonalds along N McDowell, most of the reviews are spot on about this place: There are isolated people who are really neat and great to talk to. I could tell stories about the people I've met here but that's been done - and I don't especially have their permission to describe them / our interactions online. Yes, there are homeless people about. Describing them as 'scary' and the enviroment 'nasty' because of them is absurdly ignorant and wrong however. Many are friendly and all of them obviously have fallen on hard times. Could be any one of us one day, no matter how hard you try everything may come crashing down. I would implore you to consider the homeless as fellow humans and not dirty, scary panhandlers. The service here... Well, the less said the better. I once waited 30 minutes for a freaking burger and a soda only to find out they somehow gave my order to someone else. Nice. Service needs work. Expanding the amount of counter space the staff has to work and adding a third register or yaknow hiring more than one college boy to take orders at a time could do wonders for them. To be brutally honest although the service is bad it does not seem to be the fault of the workers as it's plain to see they and their managers bust their rears to make the place run especially with the amount of traffic this location sees. It feels more like mismanagment from above - a lack of training, constant turnover rate, etc. You see this is a lot of McDonalds because, well, it sucks to work there usually. Best first job indeed. In summary; A mediocre restaurant in too prime of a location tendered by personable but inexperienced folks who may accidentally mess up your order, or forget you altogether. The worst! I haven't been to a Mc Donald's in 20 years or more. I wanted to try the much hyped Gilroy Garlic Fries.I went thru the drive thru and asked fora small fries. Guess what? No small. Only medium and large. $3.38 for medium, $3.60 for large or close to that. I live 5 minutes away. I tried one. Meh. Got home and the fries were a solidified mass of limp, wet noodles. Inedible. I work nearby and the few times I have gone there I have been given terrible service. Today The manager looked at me standing there waiting patiently. She was in her cell phone and didn't acknowledge me what-so-ever. She grabbed her associates arm and stroked it speaking to him, then walked away. Finally the kid behind the counter took my order. I could tell he was new so I was polite and patient. He took my order and was apologetic for the wait. When I got my food they completely messed up my order. I ordered the 2 cheeseburger meal but with no cheese. I got one burger. I also ordered a 6 piece chicken nugget with honey mustard and they never gave me my sauce. The last time I went there they messed up my order by giving me two hamburgers with nothing on them. I am never going there again. I am a manager for a nearby store. So I'm going to assume by looking at the reviews and they have only one and a half stars they're not doing/going to do anything to fix their service at that restaurant! I seldom eat fast food and when I do, it would be nice if they could get sinple orders correct there! Once I went there and the French fries were ice cold. Luckily I was in the restaurant and took them back up to the counter, however; the lady was so rude like it was bother to exchange them (and not say 'Sorry'). Another time (through the drive thru...so no going back after I noticed it!), I went there asked for XTRA (as the tag clearly said) onions on my cheeseburger and they put no onions on at all. I ordered a soda &sat outside doing work waitin for lunch.I went ordered 2 burgers &refill my coke; Id drank an 1/8th.No prob. I used the potty while watin food.I got back I tasted,it was completely watered down since the last wrkr topped it off. I poured it out & asked for a refill. The other mgr said no. "You no get refill". I told her I never left;was doingwork outside and I ordered food. She said you left and no refill. I told her I hadn't left I was going office work outside. I have come to believe that McDonalds no longer cares about customer service. Today has me boiling mad. I pulled into the drive thru and ordered two vanilla cones. There were about 6 cars in front of me, but none behind. They took my order, and I patiently waited in line for over 15 minutes to get to the payment window. Once there, I was told they were out of ice cream. Had they mentioned that when I ordered it, I could have backed out, but instead wasted almost 20 minutes of my valuable time. The man that advised me they were out of ice cream did not apologize, or offer me a McBuck for a cone on them next time, nothing. I commented as to why he didn't tell me sooner or have a sign, and he said he was just told. Since it was the lunch hour, I would think the Manager could have and should have notified their employees that something was out of stock or the machine was broken and a sign could have been put on the menu board. Bad enough to waste my time, but worse to not even feel bad or say you are sorry. Such poor customer service I wonder if corporate knew what was going on and the kind of customer service being received if that wouldn't prompt some re-training. My Girlfriend and I will stop by the drive thru before work some mornings and some times we dont always go with each other. My girl friend has told me and Ive seen a younger guy at the first window harassing woman and not letting there hands go when give change back. Today I asked him his name and he covered his tag and ask us to move forward. I stop at this Mc Donald's nearly every Sunday morning for coffee.{excellent brew for the price). First appearances walking in looks clean and tidy. Problem begins with ordering. It seems to me that they're completely understaff. The ordering is consistently SLOW and spotty. Last time there they forgot to make my order as I waited for 10 minutes. I finally asked about it, as everyone behind me already had their food orders. Counter mgr is not always friendly and can be short with other customers. She also needs to trim her nails (Gross). I try to patronize our local eateries, both fast and sit down, but this particular restaurant needs a serious tune-up. It seems after reading other posts I'm not the only one experiencing this type of service. Rest room needs overhauling too. Transients are constantly walking in and out using the facilities. Owner needs to have secret shoppers come for proper evaluation. read more
