This is an effective set up. No one at the counter .... wanted to switch my pick-up to walk-in instead of drove-through because of the line... no, can't do it because no one willing to come up front to assist with customers. 3rd time food cold, I waited in the number three spot for almost 35-40 mins for a pretty simple order they brought me out the wrong stuff the first time including the lady next to me. Honestly worst staff and service you could've imagined I worked at a McDonald's for 2 and a half years, and it was never as bad as this one was, they messed up every single item in the order and were extremely reluctant to fix it. Well at least until they found out I work for the state. But still. Horrible staff and service. Also the current manager has some pretty messed up looking buggs-bunny teeth... so please if you see this... make use of McDonald's health and aid benefits. read more

The Bad::::They messed up my order. My large soda had a hole in the bottom and made a mess in my car. I had to pull in a parking spot for 10 minutes because it took a long time to make a quarter pounder w/cheese. The good:::: Food was fresh and hot. So first of all, *sigh*, I ordered my food and some ice cream. What happens?!?? They don't give me my ice cream for over 10 minutes!!! He says "your ice cream will be out in a minute" it took 10 minutes and a reminder!!! I'm livid! It gets better, the cap wasn't on all the way so guess what happened to me? Carmel got all over my brand new Hollister top, THAT WAS WHITE!!!! Then I get to the beach to eat my McDonald's chicken nuggets with Sweet N' Sour sauce, what's wrong with it? IT FREAKING COLD!!! McD's is McD's, from store to store, you can generally expect the same experience and food. Not here. Service was HORRIBLE, and staff looked busy, but on reflection, that did not translate to food coming out. We waited 15 minutes after ordering for 3 cheeseburgers, 2 fries (well, one was no salt) and 2 sodas - good thing we are self sufficient grabbing cups as they didn't bother to even gesture to their location. Drive-through was backed up around the building (see what I did there? no mention of the word "restaurant", implying a food producing business). Bring back customer service, please. I have never had the quality of this service ever at McDonald's. Staff was very kind, respectful, polite. Food was out as soon as I paid.

Just got home, 15 miles away, to learn the drive through gave us a wrong order, worth a fraction of the one we paid for. Called once we discovered the error and was offered the option of making the 30 mile round trip for a reimbursement or replaced order. As I knew the time we were there and the amount charged, I asked for a refund as they could find our order. I was offered only to: return now for a refund or replacement (30 mile round trip), or to return with the card I used to charge with (same trip and time) to receive a reimbursement. Their mistake and the the customer pays in time, money and inconvenience? As a MCD stockholder, I am additionally non-plussed. I like McDonald's but not this branch unless you unbag your order before departure. You have been warned. Enjoy the Golden Arches, but perhaps elsewhere. read more

It's got what we need, from coffee to burgers, and that is good for those of us travelling down Route 103 late at night. And while the food is standard McDonald's, what makes this 4 stars and more, is the staff and service. Late night motorists in a rather remote area have a lot of quirks and the staff at this McDonald's treats everyone very well even under sometimes tough conditions. April, who runs the place on certain nights, could teach a course in proper customer service, and her team is just as proficient as her. For service, reliability, and convenience, this McDonald's does it right. read more

This is probably the noisiest McDonalds I've ever been to in my life!! The staff screams at each other. The management screams at the staff, the customers are unhappy because they're all waiting And all there is is people getting in each other's way doing nothing while others are running around like looney toons and people aren't getting their food. There's also a girl there who I think may be named Rebecca who literally harasses people at their tables while their eating!!! She dropped off my try at which time I thanked her, she came back just 2-3 minutes later to ask if all was ok. I told her it was, but then she came back again in another less than 5 minutes to check again. Has to wait to swallow my food to assure her again that yes, I was STILL ok. Not 4 minutes later she came back again and now I'm very annoyed. I get an hour break from work and want to relax and not make conversation. She came another 3 time in spite of my telling her that I would call HER if I needed anything. I was literally taking the last bite of my sandwich and she ran over to grab my tray. I graves it back because I was not done eating. I asked her to please just leave me be and she told me that it's her job to make people feel comfortable and take their trays! Well, she made me really UNCOMFORTABLE and I hVe alway taken my own tray up when finished. She spend another 5 minutes at my table as I tried to eat, telling me that her boss yelled at her for something involving another customer complaining! I hit McDonalds about 3 times a week because it's close to work.....hardly worth it if I can't eat in peace. PS: while this girl hovered around and harrassed me trash overflowed from the garbage cans and people had to stack their trays of garbage all over the tops of the garbage cans! I am in complete agreement with Edie A. on their 1.0 star rating 8/11/2018 review...... This store #8063 in Newport is unlike any other Micky-D's that you are likely to ever step foot inside- and not at all in a good way. If anything less than one star was available, I would have selected the worst rating possible for this store. It is simply not what you have come to expect with typical McDonalds food service or even quality. This store needs to be shut down until qualified management can step in and clean house. The manager: OMG really? While I failed to get her name, this woman has absolutely no business running anything but her own filthy mouth. She was so rude I could not believe it. A couple in front of us ordered two large coffees and, once finally served to them, the gentleman kindly remarked to the manager, "This doesnt taste quite right." She kinda laughed and replied, "Well, you only had to pay a dollar for it." and tried to walk away. The gentleman did not let her get far before asking for a refund. The manager walked to the register and pulled out a refund (all in change!) and slammed it onto the counter in front of the two folks without saying a word or offering any type of apology. Now we were up next- my wife and I. We placed our order: two fish sammy and two BigMacs from the $5 offers and a large drink. We were given our receipt and a table-top number for identification for them to bring out when ready. Let me mention here that during the entirety of our visit, employees were walking around with food trays in their hands droning, "Did you order a large coke with bigmac? Did you order a fish sandwich with a coke?" , etc.... They didnt seem to be performing very well to make efficient deliveries to waiting customers at all- just wandering around seemingly aimlessly trying and locate and deliver the food they carried in their hands to the appropriate customer's numbered table (mind you that the receipt also shows what table-topper number you were given- and these numbers are 12" tall so they are extremely noticeable). We took our number 11 table topper and sat it on the edge of our table and waited....and waited....and waited. After probably ten minutes I went to check the status of our highly anticipated lunch. I saw our sandwiches teetering near the french fryer on a tray and not under any heat lamps. I mentioned to the woman posed as a manager and said,"Excuse me, but I think that those are our sandwiches." She confirmed but said, "we are waiting on fries." As I stood there watching, they fulfilled five other orders of french fries from the fryer and left our sandwiched marooned all alone at the edge of the cold counter near those elusive fries. They began another batch of fries and I waited to be certain that ours would be next...and thankfully, they were. That didnt make up for the horrible managers attitude, the now cold sammys and the all around ridiculous excuse for an eatery at this location- it is certainly is no restaurant. The food was equally as rancid as the managers manners. C'mon Corporate!!!- take a look at this facility for yourself- you will be horribly embarrassed as well you should be. read more

The dining area is spacious, clean and offers plenty of comfortable seating. The staff was friendly on my three visits..The food was fine but my order wrongly prepared on one visit (The person offered to redo the item when I went back to the counter.). The place can get busy at times as this appears to be the only fast food option in Newport. read more
