If there was a 0 I would rate it at 0. I have lived here for 11 years. I have visited this McD's probably 8 times. Nothing has changed! It doesn't matter what or when I have ordered. It is bad. Cold fries, or they were put back in the fryer and get so crispy and hard you can't eat them. I love a fish sandwich! However! They have reduced the size of their fish patties! Then they put them on large cold buns. The patty covers ABOUT half of the cold bun! This store is owned/run by Ryan Blumenstock. As well as stores in Republic, Springfield, Bolivar and Willard. I have eaten at the Republic store as well as the store on Battlefield in Springfield. Those stores are clean! And, your food comes out good as it should be. I strongly suggest that Ryan visit the Mount Vernon store! Unannounced! So he can get a good idea of what overpriced food he is serving his customers! read more

I don't normally review McDonalds because it's not really worth it for anyone involved. You know what you're getting, I know what I had, and Yelp doesn't have to pay for 23kb worth of server space. However, this McDonalds was a special like of dirty with sticky tables, crumbs galore, and and a bunch of flies. Also, I'm fairly certain it was being used as a daycare for a gaggle of small children chasing each other for a single iPad. Other than that, the fries were hot and they gave me a large coke because they forgot my regular. Should you take the plunge because you are desperate or dying, I'd probably recommend going through the drive thru. read more

This restaurant automatically upsizes your order in hopes that you won't notice. The muffin on my breakfast sandwich was so hard, the egg/sausage kept squishing off the muffin. The lady at the pickup window was too distracted to greet me or say thank you. read more

Service: Good. Food: Adequate. Bathroom: Poor. The counter person was very friendly and helpful (which is getting more uncommon at McDonalds). We got made to order cheeseburgers and unfortunately the buns were dry and didn't taste fresh. The cheeseburgers also didn't seem as warm as they normally do. The fries were tasty as always, but were not hot and crispy (they were a bit on the soggy side). The women's bathroom was the messiest McDonalds bathroom my wife has ever seen, including the McDonald's we've visited outside the U.S. The garbage can was overflowing with disgusting stuff, there was toilet paper on the ground, etc. Ok if it's the one on your route but not one worth coming back to. read more

Slow service and very dirty facility. I did not visit during rush hour. Not a place that I would want to serve my food. The icing on the cake was the filthy bathroom and the ultra-thin toilet paper. Please ruin my day by causing me to spend an extra 20 minutes trying to fight with a TP roll trying to wipe my a**. There was toilet paper littering the entire stall. Stopping for restroom break and quick bite on a long trip. Disgusting! I don't think they have ever cleaned the floors and the bathroom... We got back in our vehicle and started driving. I visit this McDonald's four times this weekend I had to wait twenty minutes for my iced coffee the first time was ok the third and fourth time the lobby was closed I had to mobile order and wait outside the food was hot and fresh but I didn't want cheese on my double hamburger the employees were working serving customers the best they can I'm not complaining read more

I ordered my food, a double quarter pounder with cheese large combo, a Mc chicken, and a small fry at 7:17 p.m. and when I pulled to the pick up window they asked me to pull forward and wait for my food. We watched as five people behind us all got their food and left so at 7:32 PM I walked into the store to see why we hadnt received our food yet. When I walked into the store and showed them my receipt they had no idea what happened to my food so they had to remake it. I left the restaurant at 7:40 in a hurry due to the fact that I left my wife and crying baby in the car. When I got in the car I realized that they shorted us a small fry and the large fry was cold and stale. The workers looked like they hated their jobs and took forever to give me my order even though the place was empty. On our way from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Branson, Missouri, the staff at this McDonalds served 54 people hot food in 38 minutes! Kudos to this Mount Vernon McDonalds! We did call ahead, but then arrived 45 minutes later than anticipated. They were still ready for us and delivered excellent customer service! Just stopped at the Mt Vernon exit off I-44. Took over 20 minutes to get 2 quarter pounders, fries & waters. Trash bags behind the counter full of trash, some employees kids sweeping the floor. Gave us 2 apple pies for our "wait". No wonder Sonic was FULL! This is a health hazard. read more

Had the nerve to serve me diarrhea causing food at 6am and have ABSOLUTELY ZERO TOILET PAPER in the women's restroom!!! No toilet paper, no paper towels, no extras. They had two regular sized rolls that were used up in both stalls and I didn't have my phone on me so I got up (soiling myself in the process) and tried to call out from the entrance to the restroom and the bastards DIDN'T LISTEN or RESPOND.
