It seems everyone & anyone who's heard, has been to 1396 Creek Road Carina recently, to bite into…read moreGetta Burger's "just good burgers". And why not? these burgers are possibly the largest, most filling, & arguably most succulent burgers in town. Getta Burger is all about big flavours & insanely big burgers. There's no "gourmet" fancy scshhmancy pants here, just in your face, lets-get-messy, you're-going-to-cop-the-fat, but-be-back-for-more juicy goodness. Getta burger grinds & smokes their own meat, & make all their special sauces. The menu is uncomplicated, ranging from pulled pork, beef brisket, regular beef pattys, and nothing is over $15. They all sound so tantalising too, that you may just frustrate the counter staff with your indecisiveness. We ended up going with the: (1) "Getta Boss" ($14) - 12 hour smoked beef brisket, crispy bacon, double cheese, pickle, jalapenos & "That BBQ Sauce". (2) "Getta Beef Brisket" ($11), 12 hour smoked beef brisket, slaw, pickle, "That BBQ Sauce", & cheese. These babies are Monstrous! Basically, you can cut the burgers in half, & save some the next morning for lunch. Both burgers seem to have the right balance of flavours, moisture and texture, and hits all the right spots. We also ordered fries but it was the seasoning of their "own smoked salt dust" that stood out. Not sure how they've come up with that seasoning, but we were licking it off our fingers. Getta Burger is probably more suited to take-away rather than eating-in, as the space is limited & there's probably not enough seating to accommodate the hordes of burger lovers flocking to this part of town. Will be back!

Also noticed the girl on the grill looked about 17-18 which surprised me as brisket and other items on the menu are easy to get wrong without enough experience on the grill. Might explain the inconsistency I've had in quality of food when ordering from here previously. At this stage I dont really see a point coming back to eat at this franchise sadly.

I've tried their chicken and the veggie and they were not as good. Also tried the chicken wings - karage style and it was not karage style at all. It tasted like chicken and oil only. Service was friendly. I believe the owners are actually american. The waitress was from Sacramento. The place had a casual contemporary vibe. I like the location too. Stones corner is convenient to park and walk around with a few options of restaurant in the area so you can appeal to everyone a group. Price is decent for the vibe of the place. Would've been more worth it if the chicken wing and other burgers were better.

The name 5 Boroughs is inspired by New York's five boroughs, which are Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island. The name is an interesting choice, since most Australians wouldn't know what a borough is. Moving on to the food, I have eaten here twice so far, and enjoyed both the 5B Chicken burger and the 5B Hot burger, which contains grass-fed Mandalong beef. The food is in a similar price range to Grill'd, though I would say that the burgers are a bit smaller. Both indoor and undercover outdoor seating is available, and as the premises are licensed, this would be a good place to go with mates on a weeknight or on the weekend. Plenty of parking is available at the Stones Corner Village parking lot.

Grill'd or Getta Burgers are far far better, and I have had Ribs from a IGA hot box that were better cooked and far more flavoursome. Claiming they have ''The best burgers in Australia!'' is so far from the truth maybe they should get sued for claiming total BS. When your burgers are barely better than a McDonald's deluxe burger, then someone at Ribs & Burgers must be sniffing their own farts a little too much.

I'm going to start this review with full disclosure. I am allergic to gluten and am forced to live…read morea strict gluten-free life. This means eating out is hard sometimes. It was particularly hard at Ribs and Burgers when I dined there on a Friday at lunchtime with my colleagues. I could order a marinated MUSHROOM in place of a beef patty (all patties have a glaze which contains gluten, or so I was told) on a lettuce cup. I'll let that sink in for a moment. While everyone else in the 10+ group chowed down on all sorts of amazing meaty burgers this carnivore had a marinated mushroom on a lettuce leaf. Oh, and I drank water. As the malt and milo shakes of course contain gluten. The malt version even has biscuit chunks in it. Going by the decor, chirpy staff and funky location it was everything I could have wanted.. apart from the food situation. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice marinated mushroom. Very moist.. and mushroomy.. and herby. I also had rocket and pumpkin on my lettuce cup. So all in all, it was very green and crunchy and healthy. In a sad way. Prices were on the steep side especially as it looked like everything was standard McDonalds burger size (thankfully the patties were medium rare, however). The shakes were huge and by all reports AMAZING but super filling. I can't say I will go here again. It's just too much watching people eat delicious, fatty, flavoursome burgers. At least at 5 Boroughs at Stones Corner I can order a burger without the bun AND eat their cheesy bacon fries!!!

When I heard this burger joint was called GLOBAL Burgers, my brain went to things like "tandoori…read morechicken burger" and "satay chicken burger", because I like chicken burgers and I LOVE satay chicken. What this meant was that when I rocked up and found no mention of peanut satay, my heart sank. However, the menu did manage to hold my attention when, true to GLOBAL expectation, all the burgers were named after (and suitably cliché-themed for) locations. Rushed for time, I ordered a Mackay Fish Burger (Global also have stores in Mackay and Rockhampton, so I guess they've come from CQ? And where is the Rocky Beef Burger?) - tempura barra with lettuce, tomato, and a lightly spiced mayo. Simple and tasty. The over-floured wholemeal bun it came on left me covered in flour, but I was impressed by the fancy takeaway box. I'd consider some of the things on the menu to be a bit expensive, but in general it's on par with other burger joints. Had I had a bit more time up my sleeve, I would have dined in and sat in the outdoor section, and maybe ordered a Bangkok Chicken Burger (thai-marinated with pickled condiments), a Wellington Lamb Burger (ingredients include a potato fritter!), a Vancouver Beef Burger (inc smokey bacon and onion maple jam), or a New Orleans Chicken Burger (cajun-spiced, inc BBQ corn salsa and cajun-spiced sour cream). There are decent sides and chips menus (onion rings, sweet potato chips, shoestring OR steak cut chips) and a couple of vegetarian options (Moroccan Chickpea Burger or Mediterranean Sandwich). Global Burgers is in a fairly new and shiny Woolworths complex (does anyone else define a complex by whether it has a Coles or a Woolies in it?) on the corner of Harries Rd and Holdsworth St, a block back from Old Cleveland Road. There's some street parking, or parking in the complex carpark. The shop was empty apart from staff when I went in, but I was pretty early for a dinner shift (5:45pm). Speaking of the staff, they were fun and friendly - though one of them was a bit confused and may have thought he was auditioning for the Voice, as for the 10-15mins I was there, he continued to belt out Hinder's "Lips of an Angel", which is possibly one of my least favourite songs of all time. Perhaps next time he could ask me if I have any requests.
