There wasn't much in the way of pastries or Danish that day, so I skipped having something to go with my tea. Service: Friendly and helpful service at the counter. Atmosphere: The café was about half full, with people quietly working on laptops or enjoying conversations with friends. Sugar, the shop cat, was wandering around as usual, and this time I was able to spend a little quality time with her. She's getting older and seems a bit frail, but she really enjoyed a good scratching under the chin. Another enjoyable visit, and a place I'd return to.

Prices are cheap. A medium coffee and cookie cost less than $2.50. Nothing is outstanding, but neither bad. There is no kitchen or bakery, and it seems like bakery items are just store bought and resold. Breakfast sandwich is microwaved Jimmy Dean (just what I get at home!). Would I come back? Yes! This particular location has plenty of space for different size groups. You can choose between the downstairs area, an upstairs space, or a nicely appointed outdoor patio. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful. The baristas are usually high quality, but occasionally you will get someone who is either in training or using their own techniques. Today was a good example of that challenge. My usual London Fog Tea Latte was a surprise. You can check out the pictures. Whoever made it steeped the tea in the cup and then poured the steamed milk over the top, instead of removing the steeper and then adding the milk. No worries. I went back and they were happy to fix it. The reworked one was a bit cooler than I like, but the texture was much better. The bakery here is good too. There is a nice selection, though it does not taste as fresh as if it were made on site. I always ask to have bakery items warmed up, which I think improves the taste.

The only downside is in the spring/summer bees seem to hang around and pester you from time to time. It depends on when you stop in but I've noticed the crowd ebbs and flows during weekdays and the inside seating area is small. If you're looking for a quiet place to crank out some work this probably isn't the best spot. I usually overhear many convos while trying to catch up on emails. They also have a designated parking lot which is awesome! Overall it's a great spot to check out and in a cute, more off the beaten path part of Milwaukee too.

The raspberry scone was fresh, with good flavor and texture. They even warmed it up a bit. Service: This morning, we got friendly and helpful service when we placed the order. Atmosphere: Lots of places to sit and we picked a spot on the first level. The noise level was a bit loud, but we could still have a conversation. Issues: After we sat down, we were approached by a panhandler. This is the second time this has happened. After the person left, the manager came over to check on us, and apologized. Not sure how they can best solve this issue. But it's an unfortunate situation.

If you're interested in my experience, keep reading. I arrived today 9/23/26 @ around 11am to have a meeting with a United States Navy Sailor in uniform. It was 3 of us at a table. Soon after we all arrived I got up from our chosen table to order at the counter. The young female barista was making a drink and Colin saw me. Eventually I went to go sit back down because I assumed they were busy. 15 minutes later Colin came over to our table, left a menu and muttered something. Soon after that, he came back again in the middle of our meeting and muttered something again. He repeated in a very agitated tone, "You guys can hang out but you have to order something". Two of us told him we tried to order earlier, to which he replied something along the lines of "well we're wide open now". I had genuinely never seen or heard a barista act this way. I thought he's just having a bad day from the way he's walking around the shop, so I told him I'd go right up to order. Later, Colin generously brought over my toast and I said "thank you so much" and "thank you" as he tossed my napkins on the table. He did all of this in silence. Soon after, he put up a hand written sign on the door that said "We close at 1". An odd experience, to say the least
