We were on a group bus trip with kids for an organization and the bus had decided to stop here for the group to get dinner. To make it easier we decided to make the order one big order. While we were placing the order we had asked the staff to put each combo meal order in separate bag. They were very rude and said that they would not be doing this. The whole time it was like they were mad because we had a big order. They were stingy on the sauces and charged us for more sauces since we didn't have enough to go with each meal. We decided once we got the food to bag everything in separate bags ourselves once we got it. It was a good thing we checked everything because they did not have our full order. We had let the manager know which she got us what we were missing. The fries were not fresh they were cold. Overall the restaurant was clean inside but not the bathroom. Their soap dispenser was not working in the women's bathroom. I wasn't very pleased with this visit to this location. read more

My husband and I went to this McDonald's on our way to Purdue University to change our driving directions due to a highway entrance ramp being closed. We also needed a bathroom break. The restroom was clean enough but the air driers were malfunctioning. We ordered a large mocha frappe to get us through the next leg of our journey. Very disappointed in my experience here this morning. And on top of that, bring my family to use the bathroom in this establishment and after we want to wash our hands and we are welcomed with BURNING HOT WATER to wash our hands. Steam is coming from the water because it's so hot, my kids are crying trying to wash their hands. And then you have 2 employees come into the bathroom while this incident is happening and, they aren't very pleasant. Basically saying it's not their problem. YOU WORK HERE!! How is this not fixed. How has nobody else complained about this. How am I supposed to wash my hands when I can barely wash them in the first place, so how is the employee really washing their hands before/ in between shifts when they use the restroom. Very disappointing stop. Especially after being on the road for hours and trying to catch a little break. Will make sure to never stop here again. read more

Usually our go to stop for traveling North-we called it the 'fancy McDonald's' jokingly. It seemed to be a step above the norm. Now it's just like any other McDonald's-food was good, hot, staff were friendly and we got our food fairly quickly. One sandwich was super messy/sloppily put together and the happy meal was missing a side. Will probably look around for a new stop for next trip. read more

I really like this particular McDonald's because it's not too far from my home, it's usually clean on the outside and inside, the staff is pretty friendly and efficient, and I my order is usually always correct. Today I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich, add mayo and extra pickles. However, my order was incorrect, I got mayo with pickles plus lettuce and tomatoes. I thought about sending the sandwich back, but I'm hesitant about sending food back for correction, so I kept the sandwich. I took the lettuce and tomatoes off and my sandwich was pretty good. I'm not writhing this review because I had a real problem with the food or restaurant, but in spite of my order being incorrect, I still believe this is one of the better McDonald's to visit in the Merrillville/Hobart are. read more

Ordered carry-out for breakfast on my birthday. They forgot several items, including pancakes that were supposed to be the breakfast for my children. When I called to discuss, the employee hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak to the manager; they told me not to call them again and hung up on me a second time. This store needs a purge and some new staff. We are here from Florida evacuating from two hurricanes back to back, while this is a terribly scary and uncomfortable time for us, we stopped at Arby's in the next parking lot. The staff was incredibly rude and rushing us so we pulled off and went to Taco Bell. To my surprise, same treatment there plus waiting forever. We pulled off again and excepted nothing different from this McDonald's but hopeful that at least we wouldn't have an extended wait. I have to rant on the staff here. They were so kind to us. Thank you for treating us with the kindness and respect that any human deserves. But for a time like what we're experiencing, we thank you for it even more. I came to the drive thru at 10:18am, and I was heavily disrespected and she wouldn't allow me to use my points because they were "already bogo" that doesn't matter. I wanted to use my points just because. I also got charged for 2 extra sauce packets which I didn't get or say I wanted. My husband and I stopped on the way to Chicago - bathroom break and nugs! One stall was out of TP and someone cane right away. Waiting for food we ordered on the kiosk - coffee forgotten. people this is McD's and I'm not expecting anything Grand. However, guy named Zack was at the pickup spot inside and he was a shining gem. First, he spoke Spanish and helped woman with her order. She was surprised by his Spanish and thanked him. Next, a lady was upset because her order was wrong. Well Zack walked to the back, apologized for the mistake to his team, they fixed it. Everyone happy. He found my coffee and delivered with a smile. Be like Zack. The morning staff is great, maybe spend a few minutes in the drive thru. The night staff will have you in the drive thru for about 15 to 20 minutes. It's like they have no sense of time, if I wanted to wait 20 minutes for my iced coffee I'd go somewhere with much better coffee. read more

Worst McDonald's EVER!!! I stopped coming to this location for 1 full year due to the Awful Management and lack of customer service. Everytime I bring my daughter here, they get my order wrong! I have complained over and over to Managers, gotten free meals but still there is no improvement! Today I stopped there at 6pm to get my daughter lunch before taking her to work. We did not get our order until 6:28pm. The one guy who was bringing the food out brought us the wrong food, when I asked him a question, he yelled! He went inside, came back out with another wrong order, so I went inside. My child had 10 minutes now before she has to report to work. I ask for the manager, a guy says he's the manager. While I'm talking to him, a lady comes up and snatches the bag and says, We know whose order this is... I continue with the guy, but this lady keeps interrupting.
