When you go to a McDonald's, you expect McDonald's food. And 95% of the time, you get what you expected - standard McDonald's fare. The only things that distinguish one McDonald's from another are the staff (service) and the physical facility. This particular McDonald's was better than most McDonalds. The staff at the counter was very personable and even pointed out to my wife that one of the combo meals would actually be less expensive than what she was trying to order alcarte. The dining room and the restrooms were very clean. This is located near King's Island and obviously caters to the King's Island crowd during the season as there are a couple of tables set up to seat 10-12 people. I've worked at McDonald's before. Many of us have. This location is convenient for me so we go back from time to time to see if things have gotten better. My issue today: They always forget to put sauce on my steak bagel. This is such a simple sandwich to make, but they always mess it up. No sauce, cheese half off the sandwich. Cold, dry steak. I don't know if it's the people working there, or the management. I'm inclined to say management because these issues have persisted for years. Warning they are extremely slow!!! My kids have been begging for McDonald's for at least two weeks. We finally decided to grab them some before heading to our movie. Not a big fan of the order here kiosks that have now replaced the cashiers taking your order at McDonald's! I was told that you can no longer place an order with a cashier and you must use a kiosk! Almost every business I have experienced with kiosks still provide an option to use a live person for your transactions but not McDonald's! We always order our hot fudge sundaes with caramel sauce on them and these kiosks do not have special combinations like that on them! Once done ordering via the kiosk, I still had to go and wait in a line for a cashier to make the payment! The kiosk process was senseless for people who still need to pay at the cashier! The live cashier that takes the payment also filled the ice cream machine and it looked like they had their fingers in their mouth while filling the machine! I will be using their drive thru for now on to avoid the kiosk! Guess I will stop going all together once they decide to automate the drive thru with kiosks also! If this McDonald's would completely overhaul management it'd probably be decent as it's in a prime location just down from Kings Island however you will wait in the drive through for a good half hour or more even when there are only five or so cars ahead of you. We attempted to ditch the drive through wait by going in and using the unmanned ordering station but still ended up waiting 30 minutes. There weren't many people there at all so it's impressive they managed to make it take that long. There are overflowing trash cans, trash left all over the tables, brooms and dustpans strewn about. And despite the fryers going our food was cold and tasted like it had been sitting out the full 30 min wait. Drive to the Landen location, even with the drive you'll get your food faster! read more

Not sure what is going on at this McDonalds! Drive thru is one of the worse... my daughter wanted lunch.. two drive thru lines/ make sure you pick the correct line.. I talked to manager. It's not and never will be every other car! Because one of the lines the order is taken by the person taken the money! The other by the person filling bags! So the person taking money may not be as fast as the person filling orders. So the manager tells me as FIVE cars went when I was told to hold on by the person at my drive up line! Terrible customer service. Right next to kings island and wanted something quick after we left the amusement park. There was a line wrapped around the building, but we got in line at 10:40 and were willing to wait. We finally get to order our food at the speaker at 10:50, and no worker answers. We waited 5 minutes for someone to answer, I even called them, still no answer. They completely ignored us and the 20 cars behind us. From a profitability stand point, they turned down 20 cars willing to pay for food. From a customer service standpoint, they turned down 20 hungry families. Majority of the food industry closes at 11. They should've served those in line at 11, but now everyone has to scramble for last minute food. We don't often go to McDonald's but decided to let the kids have their way after Winterfest at Kings Island. 7:30pm. One customer in the lobby, one or two in drive through. Five employees that I saw. Had to wait five minutes at the counter for someone to take our order. Took 20m to get our food. Made the persons in front of us wrong. Made ours wrong. Missing items. No ketchup dispensers working. Now a days....Every McDonalds in the USA sell and receive the exact same food products. It is all about speed and service to make these iconic places an actual place to dine. This one was clean, I will give it that. Ironic enough this specific place was slow with workers that weren't friendly in the slightest. I did get my food, but it took a while. I ordered to go food from the inside due to needing to use the restroom. It seemed like 10 min to get my food once the order was placed. We stopped by today and once again, we were in the drive-thru for over 10 minutes. This happens every time I go to this location. The store is right by Kings Island. The lady taking our order was a hateful person. We ordered 3 meals and she only gave us 2 cups. My wife asked for the 3rd and she says "well I only rang you up for two". Ordered on their high tech kiosk, but it became a 30 minute wait for my meal, and an extra 10 minutes for my latte. There were two young ladies / girls working the front, one was working as hard as possible, the other was atrocious. Lazy and not caring is an understatement. DO NOT EAT AT THIS MCDONALD'S!! If I could, I would give "0" stars. I had to wait in line so long in the drive-thru, my coupon code expired and I could not use it. The tea was not fixed correctly and they would not fix the problem. The staff was laughing, when I knocked on the window about my drink. What's with the prices? The dipped ice cream cones cost 50 cents more than where I live! While on vacation, we stopped here with my big family and placed our order. That is a challenge for me as well as the person taking the order. It's lots of food and not nice and neat and all meal deals. Well, we were short a drink. Slowest drive thru in the entire state of Ohio. And this is every time I go through the drive thru on my work lunch break.

So, my first visit back since they finished construction/ remodel. I think there are some decent upgrades that they have made, but they charge alot for this place... since it is less than a mile away from Kings Island and Great Wolf Lodge, two major attractions. First thing I noticed was how the store is now turned. I'm guessing this is to maximize the Drive Thru for those busy times. They also have a "Double Ordering" speaker now to help with ordering. I just wonder if there will be any more of those rediculous ONE HOUR wait times in the drive thru like there had been after Kings Island closes!!!! Inside the store, Seating seems limited compared to previous. Almost half of the dining area is actually high seating, almost bar style. One plus I enjoy is the number of power outlets that they have now. Making finding a seat easier if you carry your electronics with you or need to recharge your cell phone! The bathrooms were a nice upgrade from before, but the soap (yes, I'm complaining about the soap, but at least I used some!!! lol) the soap was very runny.... almost as if they "half and half'd" the soap! They also took out the outdoor playland and installed patio seating, but most of the seating is unshaded. The Prices, as i said before, seems expensive compared, but almost every value meal is near the same price. A Big Mac Meal meal is $5.49 and an Angus Bacon & Cheese is only 40 cents more at $5.89! Something doesn't seem right about that to me!!! I do have to say that you get a little more "attitude" with your order from this McDonalds, but about the same as before. So, some pluses on the rebuild, and a couple of minus: mostly from my pocket... If you know where the next closest McDonalds is and it's on your way, I recommend stopping there.
