Ordered at 9:55 for curbside waited a hour for the lady management to say I gotta go through the drive thru with the line wrapped around the building would've been nice to know they weren't coming outside. They need to hire more people fast food is supposed to be fast. The service is

Placed an order at 10 AM for some breakfast items. We got to the second window and they said they didn't have orange juice. They then made us park. It is now 11 AM. We went inside after being parked for about 45 minutes and they said they can't make our food anymore because they're serving lunch and not breakfast. Asked for a refund and they said to go through the app. There isn't an option to get a refund through the app. So we called the corporate number and no one picked up. Left a message. We tried to give feedback on the website and after filling out all of the information and explaining the situation, it said "there is a temporary error" and we couldn't even post that feedback either. Honestly it ruined our morning. We ordered a couple biscuits, a drink and a burrito. We had no idea that'd be so difficult. Will never go back.

The Greenroom - Charming interior, just the right size for a quiet visit or a little convo over coffee

I walked in a little past 1pm, having studied the chalkboard outside with a delightful-sounding selection of spring specials. As I'm ordering, the barista and I alike see another group walk in. And another. And another-- I'm not seeing anyone else in the rather small physical establishment, and as a former barista am beginning to sweat a bit for this Greenroom employee and all of the orders he is about to have to deal with, seemingly by himself (cue the cheerful chime announcing more customers, and more customers). As I wait for my order, grateful to be the first in this long line, I sit to casually read a book and take my opportunity to observe my fellow patrons of this fine little spot. I hear the barista asking customers if they're okay with waiting, and he begins to ask customers if they're okay with waiting a minute for their orders. I'm content, as I have no urgent arrangements, and the now plastic-gloved barista comes up to me, informing me that they have no lime to garnish the avocado toast I've ordered and asking if that was okay. I assert as much and he returns to the line; I think to myself that he could have saved the time and not told me and I wouldn't have known the difference, but I'm pleased with his attention to detail. I get my to-go box of avocado toast with an egg and am pleased to open it and try a bite. I feel that it could have done with red pepper flakes (my favorite), but the everything bagel seasoning added a nice texture and the overall flavor profile was delightfully savory. As for my drink, which came later, it was the Good Riddance: a vanilla cold brew with lime pie cold foam (which lived up to the name tremendously). It also had what I believe to be graham cracker or pie crust crumbles on the top that were delightful! The drink was delicious and perfect for the spring weather. I sit upstairs as I always do, but specifically on the patio where I can see all of MidCity and the surrounding businesses. There's nonintrusive and enjoyable music presumably coming from the Camp itself? After an hour or so of enjoying my spoils, I return to the counter below to see if the barista is still there now that the rush is over. He is now accompanied by another coworker, blessedly, and I learn that his name is Caleb. We chat for a few moments and I introduce myself before leaving, but not before taking another picture of all the event calendars for the week and month. Now I'm positively fueled for my afternoon and grateful for the relaxed atmosphere. (Thanks for reading this far if you did, and shoutout again to Caleb for doing his job tremendously! He informed me that he enjoys a good rush of customers, and I replied that I would have cried to have been in the situation that he handled with great poise and dedication. The great service alongside the excellent product left me wanting to return quickly!)

Once we made it in, we found a friendly staff, a small sitting area, and coffee options with house made syrup. I went with my standard iced vanilla latte and enjoyed it! I would love to come back and explore more of what The Camp has to offer.

I recently moved next door to this coffee shop and have enjoyed being able to walk over for coffee…read more The staff has always been kind, and it's genuinely a nice coffee shop. However, I recently came across a video posted on the business's Instagram page ([insert link]), and I wanted to respectfully share why some of the messaging bothered me. While I understand the intended message was likely one of kindness, the reference to kindness being the "new punk rock" felt contradictory. Punk rock has historically been an anti-establishment movement rooted in challenging conformity, oppressive social norms, and the exclusion of people who don't fit society's expectations. Punk and alternative communities have long fostered individuality, activism, mutual aid, and belonging, including for LGBTQ+ people and others who haven't always felt welcome in mainstream spaces. There's a particular irony in this coming from a coffee shop, considering the history of coffeehouses as gathering places for artists, activists, and alternative and queer communities. I also found it interesting that the business is promoting an upcoming musician whose genres include indie rock and alternative rock. While these genres aren't identical to punk, they share overlapping histories and communities. It feels contradictory to celebrate alternative culture for its entertainment while using a related subculture as a negative comparison. Kindness isn't the opposite of punk rock. Challenging prejudice and creating belonging for marginalized people can be radical expressions of compassion themselves. I also believe language matters. Research and guidance on inclusive language, including from the American Psychological Association, recognize how language can reinforce stereotypes and prejudicial attitudes. Words don't have to be intentionally hateful to contribute to harmful assumptions or social exclusion. When we present one community as something to rise above, even casually, we risk reinforcing the very judgment we're advocating against. Good intentions don't automatically erase the implications of our words. As a Christian myself, I think of John 4, where Jesus speaks with the Samaritan woman despite the ethnic, religious, and gender boundaries of his society. He doesn't refuse to engage with her because she belongs to a different community. To me, that's a meaningful example of compassion transcending social expectations rather than reinforcing them. I don't presume to know the owner's intentions, and I recognize this perspective may not be one he shares or understands. That's okay. I simply believe that differing perspectives deserve consideration, especially when discussing kindness and acceptance. Again, everyone I've encountered here has been lovely, and I have no complaints about the coffee or service. I just wanted to share why this messaging gave me pause and has made me more inclined to drive to Perseus in MidCity instead. You don't have to diminish another community to celebrate your own values, and love doesn't need an outsider to define itself against.
