As the area continues to flourish around the Riverwalk, the Tavern is the place one must frequent regardless of the day/night of the week The food is excellent. Combination of basic pub food, middle eastern and some of the local favorites that, if you grew up in the area like me, that remind you of being a kid again. Brian, Jenn and Julia are amazing behind the bar and on the floor. How they manage the crowd on the weekend is beyond me. That said, when the energy is that positive, you have to have a staff that compliments the environment. They crush it... If you live in the area, this needs to be a weekly staple. If you don't, come in on a Friday or Saturday and enjoy a burger and a drink alongside the weekly bands that are brought in that will get you feet tapping and smiling ear to ear!

The place has the feel of a local neighborhood pub which has finished wood walls, flooring, & ceiling. There is seating at the full service bar, table seating along the walls, pool table in the back, a musician/karaoke stage in the front corner and TVs throughout the room. There is a patio area out back. They offer nightly entertainment such as DJs, karaoke (Tue), trivia (Wed), and live music. The food menu offers pub fare including appetizers, wings, chips & dips, salads, burger/sandwich plates, quesadillas, tacos, chicken & waffles, pasta, steaks, and desserts. The prices are moderate. The bar offers 12 beers on draft, beer bottles/cans, wine, cocktails & mixed drinks. I stopped by Fonzi's for dinner very recently. I sat up at the bar for prompt service. I got an ice water as I looked over the menu. For an appetizer, the Fried Raviolis ($12 plus tax) had 6 good size fried breaded raviolis filled with cheese including ricotta & seasoning) over a zesty marinara sauce. For dinner, the Basic Bit*h Burger ($18 plus tax) had a thick grilled beef patty with melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, & pickle chips on a thick kaiser bun. The fries were lightly fried and very hot. Both the fried raviolis and thick juicy burger were very good and fries were decent. After I was done, I got the check with Upserve QR code, which was $32.10 with tax and before tip. I was able to pay the check on my phone, as the place was getting busier around 6:30 pm. The service was prompt sitting at the bar and I was able to watch some sports highlights on the TV. I would definitely come back here to try other food on their menu like the coconut shrimp, tacos, and cheese tortellini gratinati with chicken.

I ordered two traditional chimi sandwiches and one Dominican hot dog from their outdoor setup. The bread on the chimis was excellent -- soft, substantial, and it reminded me of the Tripoli bread I love. The toppings were fresh and flavorful too. Unfortunately, the star of the sandwich (the beef patty) was a big letdown. It was extremely thin and unimpressive, which made the whole sandwich feel underwhelming despite the good bread and toppings. The Dominican hot dog was even more disappointing. I had high hopes for it, but it tasted like a generic, water-filled beef dog you'd grab from the convenience aisle at Market Basket. Nothing special or "Dominican-style" stood out. For $45 total (two chimis + one hot dog), I expected more from their signature outdoor offerings. The food I saw being prepared inside looked like standard fare, but the outdoor Dominican items I came for didn't deliver. If you're in the area and craving Dominican street food late at night, you might have better luck inside or elsewhere. I wanted to love this spot but left pretty disappointed.

Neither of us had been before, and a burger sounded really good to me at that moment, so we decided to give it a try! I made a reservation about 20 minutes before we arrived. We got there early, but they seated us right away. It wasn't too busy, and we eventually moved to the bar because the seating made it easier to chat. The frozen espresso drinks immediately caught our attention. Even though it was late, we couldn't resist the sound of that. They were strong and quite tasty. We started with the fried mozzarella balls, which were nice and crispy. My friend ordered the chicken Milanese, and I went with the signature Tavern Burger. Our bartender, Luan, was very nice and attentive. Between the overall relaxed atmosphere, tasty drinks, and friendly service, it was a great spot for our casual night out. Luan told us that the menu was changing the next day and we will definitely come back to try the seasonal menu.

I enjoyed the beets since you usually don't get those. The spinach dip was good too and pretty standard. I suppose "rustic" would be a good term to describe the interior. The menu offers steaks at prices you'd have a difficult time finding elsewhere in the area, plus chicken, lamb, veal, and interesting specials. Our large group was seated over two tables, which worked well for us in terms of quality conversation among interested folks. Service was quick, friendly, and professional, and all our dinners came out at the same time. We ordered a few appetizers. They were good but a little inconsistent. The mozzarella sticks, homemade, were a little unconventional, with a panko-mozzarella crust. Better, in my opinion, were the buffalo chicken tenders. I mis-read the description of my Argentine Bowl, thinking it was more of a salad. It was steak tips, avocado, tomatoes, and black beans over rice, quite tasty. The person sitting next to me ordered a dinner special the lamb shank osso bucco. While the meat was delicious and tender, it could have had even more seasoning on it, and there was an unexpected amount of fat on the shank. Parking is a little awkward given the shape of the shopping center, and the location of the restaurant. It was nice to see signs designating spaces closest to the restaurant reserved for their customers. This restaurant was the go-to restaurant for the family hosting the dinner event. I can understand why, and I wholeheartedly agree.

Jaime's was just a short detour from our route and well worth it. From the moment we walked in, the place had the feel of a neighborhood restaurant that locals probably don't think twice about--but visitors are glad they discovered. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, and the service was excellent throughout our meal. We started with the hummus appetizer, which was fresh, flavorful, and a great way to kick things off. My partner ordered the fish tacos, while I went with the Fried Spicy Honey Chicken Sandwich. The sandwich was outstanding--crispy chicken with just the right balance of sweetness and heat. It's the kind of sandwich I'd happily order again. One amusing moment came when I ordered a Manhattan. I don't think the bartender was normally behind the bar, because he had to look up the recipe before making it. It turned out just fine, and I suspect they have dedicated bartenders working the evening shift. Jaime's may be a little off the beaten path, but that's part of its charm. Good food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere made this an easy five-star stop. We'll definitely keep it in mind the next time we're headed through the area.
