Yes, I'm reviewing McDonald's, but only because the service here is pretty god-awful. They made our order correctly, which is nice I guess, but I was confused when I pulled up to the drive thru window for payment and the worker kept his back turned to me for several MINUTES before opening the window and saying "sorry" with a straight face. That was the entire exchange. Then in the second food window, another employee made no effort to repeat the order to us, or greet us, or anything like that. Just handed us the food. AITA? The absolute worst McDonald's I have ever been to in my entire life! Not only do they close WHENEVER they Want. They haven't updated their google hours or anything to give a heads up to unsuspecting customers. I've driven at 11pm on week days and weekends sometimes 10:30pm too and they have been closed. When they are open at night (Extremely Rare) there is a full night shift crew and they always and I mean ALWAYS Forget 1-3 items on your order. At this point I think they get off on messing up your order. The food quality is good tho can't say anything bad about that. What can you say about McDonald's that has not already been said. The food is consistent here as with any other restaurant and the staff is friendly and helpful, particularly Donna who works the morning shift. Sadly this McDonald's has gone downhill since it was renovated. The employees are rude and about 85% of the time, you'll wait over a minute for anyone to take your order in the drive thru, you can sit there and say excuse me all you want, but they can't be bothered to take your order, and I usually leave without ordering. This location used to be consistently solid to great, especially the night staff, then they remodeled a while back and it's been absolute trash ever since. The fries are often lukewarm and soggy, the burgers are burnt and caked with the filth of a long uncleaned grill and they taste like it too. You're McDonald's, if you can't do burgers and fries right just quit. The new menu boards are glitchy, sometimes blank, sometimes your order shows up on the other lane. Sometimes they're strangely out of major items. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. I've been back a bunch of times spread out over months and at different times of day, trying different kinds of stuff: just constantly trash. The one thing I'll say is the breakfast is still okay but check your bag if you get a hash brown because they forget that all the time. They're also bad at giving you sauces you ask for. If you want burgers or fries though don't go here, you'll either be disappointed or end up going somewhere else because what you get is inedible. read more

Had the worst McDonald's experience today. My 74 mother that came and drove 7 hours to come visit me from Cape Girardeau stop in to this McDonald's and proceeded to use the McDonald's app to buy a sandwich and cup of coffee she was trying to kill some time by played on her laptop and when she went up 30 minutes later to get a refill on coffee I do believe it was the manager she was a middle-aged woman with a bun in her hair, informed her that she could not have a refill because she left and if you leave the store you can't come back and have a refill and my mother proceed to tell her I didn't leave I've been here the whole time I've been in that Booth over there on my laptop and this woman was very rude very hateful an Unapologetic even when one of the other workers came to my mother's Aiden said yes she had been here the whole time and hadn't left then she finally gave her refill I'm very upset my mother she has spent so much money McDonald's throughout the years where she lives in Cape Girardeau her and her friends that are senior citizens go to McDonald's in Cape Girardeau everyday and have breakfast and they have never been treated like this I hate that my mom had an experience this bad and she said she will never again come to that McDonald's again or let alone probably one here in Lawrence. I haven't had McDonald's in over 10 years, and now I remember why. First of all the line was so long that people had to curve around the parking lot to avoid being stand still on a busy street. When I got to the window and paid for my food, the person at the window told me that my food was NOT ready and he asked me to go back to the end of the line...wtf, like get serious. When I finally got my food, 30 minutes later, the lettuce on my chicken sandwich was brown, it was literally brown, and the chicken itself was grey. It was so gross. Even though the staff was nice, the food was just horrible (which is to be expected, its fast food), but the quality of the food has to be better for crying out loud.
