Just writing to say that It's safe to stop here for all the people seeing the 2 stars on yelp. I'm not a huge McDonald's (or any fast food chain) fan, but this was a good stop on our traveling. We figured McDonald's was the best choice of the fast food options. We stopped at this place traveling south when we just needed something to eat and then again a few weeks later when traveling back north because we knew it was a good stop and wouldn't get food poisoning or any upset stomachs while making a long day of driving. This place is updated inside with order at the counter or order at the self -ordering touch screens, has 2 drive thru lanes, outdoor seating on cement with grass area for pet relief if you're traveling with a pet, clean bathrooms, and friendly staff. The floors weren't the cleanest, but food was good, staff was friendly, and food was ready quickly. So overall, good experience for a McDonald's in the middle of the mountains when traveling with a dog and needing a quick bite to eat. read more

PK81 was my order. 1 sweet tea and 2 coffees. They didn't have it ready and had to wait because they didn't have coffee made. Really crazy how this place runs. Needs better management read more

Pretty nice McDonalds located in or around rocky top Tennessee that my family stopped in for a quick lunch on a trip from Lousiville to Gatlinburg. The store itself was very modernized with a clean lobby. You use the new technology self preset kisosk and the wireless mike Wes bring out your order to your table. The service here was very quick. As for the food most people know by now if they like McDonald's. To me it's just ok. But it was lent Friday so I tried a fish filet sandwich which I hadn't had in years. It was just ok. Overall a solid spot that did the trick for our large traveling party. Only complaint is the bathrooms were gross. The men's room looked like an after math of a urine sample factory explosion. Very drastic difference between the cleanliness of the lobby vs the bathroom. read more

You know the food they was it was good as simple McDonald's burger at the kiosk really screwed our order screwed it. She needs a lot more training apparently she didn't know how to customize a burger on the little screen upfront. The the pay thing was busted. Have white dots on it like an old-fashioned TV busted the ambience oh my gosh, your car is half eaten out here the ambience it was just a complete SHIT show. They were flies all over the freaking place as place is really sketch. Some might get sketchy and then somebody flies. I almost hate one. I almost died to a fly today at McDonald's. I would recommend the KFC Taco Bell joint together over where wonder all right have a great day yup. read more

11/17/24:Dirty dirty.... My husband and I did a little pit stop in this McDonald's to have some ice cream and use the restroom. The restroom smells like sewage, fine there is a plumbing issue, it happens. The cashier is collecting cash and placing orders while dispatching ice cream cones. He touched my husband cone outside of where the paper is and some of the ice cream also. My husband was too embarrassed to point it out so he eat the top and shared the rest with the dogs. When he took care of me he did the same, I pointed out that he was touching the top potion of the cone that is eatable and that I'd like a new one. He threw it with an attitude and went back, out of sight to serve a second cone. I only eat the top also and discarded of the rest... Terrible service; dirty, inconsiderate, bad tempered employees (teens). read more

Wasn't open at 530am on a Tuesday! lol this is ridiculous AND the employee wouldn't answer the phone which I called multiple times. Won't ever go there again. Happen now twice SMDH read more

Aubrey and Brieton were outstanding servers Got hot no sale specials and Mcchicken VERY friendly and constantly cleaning

Ordered food came out entirely different than what was on my receipt and may plainly telling them that I needed a Pacific food and still didn't get it and only got half of what I ordered read more

Did a mobile order and it was hot and ready when I pulled up. By far the best McDonald's I've had in a while.

The food was hot but the problem was none of it was edible because all of the icing from two cinamelts was leaking all over the inside of the bag as the bag was pack sideways. Gladly remade but as we are traveling and time constraints it just made it more difficult to just grab and run on the road. Very busy location for low reviews score. Food had great flavor so redeeming qualities abounded. read more

Do not stop here if you are on a roadtrip go to a different Mcdonald's! our food took 40 minutes to come out and it was totally packed in there. For a fast food restaurant that is pathetically slow. And not only did it take FOREVER, half of our order was missing. Do not recommend. read more

Gave us someone else's order. Then they said they couldn't take it back. COVID or not my car is not your trash can!!! Now instead of taking it back though the car window you'll be picking it up in the parking lot. read more

I went to the Rocky Top Mcdonalds after running some errands today and when I pulled up to the mic I was greeted with a very sweet girl who was very helpful. She was super nice when I pulled up to the window. I think her name was Lexi. However, when I got to the second window I was greeted by this very rude teenage boy. I didn't catch his name but he was kind of short and i believe bald, I also believe he was manager. I don't really care much because it's Mcdonald's but this boy shouldn't be speaking to customer's disrespectfully. read more

This place sucked. The food was bad for McDonald's. The service was relatively fast considering how many people were inside there. But the workers were extremely rude. They practically threw the ketchup at us. And the ambiance was awful. We had an awful time trying to find a table that was halfway clean. And not to mention that the bathrooms were just as bad if not worse than a rundown gas station. Spare yourself the time and effort and don't eat here. read more

The person who took our order seems just a little slow, but our food came out super fast! This location also has computer screens if you prefer to avoid human interaction. Lol. I'm so glad they offer breakfast all day now. I had never tried a McGriddle. Wow! I'm lovin' it, as they say. Hubby loved the breakfast burrito and our son loves the pancakes. This location was clean - even the bathrooms! Although I have to the bathrooms were extra cold!! Not sure why there was such a huge difference in temperature... read more

This is the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. There were plenty of employees working to be out of napkins, ketchup, and unsweetened tea. It looked like robots working. There was no sense of urgency amongst any of the workers I saw. When you work with the public, at least pretend to like your job. read more

My husband and I stopped at the Lake City Tennessee McDonalds for dinner. We hadn't been to a McDonalds in years. Our experience was second to none. The place was so horribly filthy everywhere - the floor, garbage coming out of the cans, the rest room, the countertops where the condiments are kept. I'm quite sure it would not have passed any health and safety requirements. Just HORRIBLE. Do not stop there. Not sure how other McDonalds keep their stores but we will NEVER return to any of them. EVER! read more

The PLAYPLACE IS CLOSED. Miles of playplace billboards on I75 got my 5 year old really excited only to be crushed when we walked in to learn the door was broken and you cant get in. Dont waste your time - if you are traveling w. kids it's heartbreaking, and if you are child-less dont go in, its full of upset kids everywhere. We got our kid a happy meal and had to leave and eat at a different restaurant, there were only 2 high chairs so we couldn't even feed our infant. NEVER GO HERE. EVER. read more

In the four years or so that our Rocky Top community discussion has been up, and as an administrator for over three of those years, I have watched the community grow to 5,000 members - and only ever posted constructive criticism about a local business ONCE until today. And today, it's straight up negative. But, first and foremost, and as a "too long, didn't read" review - if you are considering stopping by the local McDonalds - I would STRONGLY advise against it. It should have been a red flag in the beginning to see 10+ cars lined up in the drive thru, some pulled over, and some people walking back inside with their bags - but we circled around and made our order anyways. The lady at the second window was great, and recited our order back perfectly. At the first window, we didn't even get a receipt. Had me a little nervous. I was even more nervous when I had to pull over to get my coffee; waited about 10 minutes, and then was handed my coffee - AND somebody else's food as she walked off. I then drive about 15 minutes to drop my fiancee off at work before she is late. We then realize; not only did they botch our drinks (unsweetened, watery, etc) - they messed up the wraps AND the mcdoubles; covered both ranch wraps in BBQ sauce and my burgers with onions, mustard leaking out the sides, etc. despite ordering it PLAIN with just BBQ; since I cannot eat onions. I drove all the way back; this time, there were 16 cars in the drive thru; and even more people pulled over. I figured it would be for the best to just park and walk in and speak to someone personally. After waiting about 45 minutes with the amount of people inside (around 12:40 now), the lady at the register sees me with my bags, yells "I need a manager", and walks off. --- The manager shows up, appearing less than happy to hear that my order was botched, and that I received the wrong food. She yells to the back "I need two mcdoubles; sweet bbq only. 2 ranch wraps", and throws the two bags of food in the trash. 10-15 minutes later, she returns with a small bag, hands it to me, tells me to have a nice day, and leaves. - No "sorry about all of this today" apology, no excuse like "I'm so sorry, we're so swamped!", no gift of a nasty little apple pie as a token of my extended stay at the Super 8 McDonalds. I wait there for a moment, and another (super sweet girl, seems to be working the register today) - asks what's up. I ask if I can get a sweet tea, since the former was made incorrectly - and I am told that, although she is sorry, i'll have to get back in line and order one that way if I want my sweet tea. I, livid, just take my food and walk out the door. I hop in the car and rush the food to my fiancee before she has to leave for Johnson City with her boss. As I open the bag; THEY'VE MESSED UP THE MCDOUBLES AGAIN. All of this today, paired with the incorrect order a few days ago - where, I might add, that they had some blonde person's hair floating in my coffee... I cannot bring myself to come back any more after this. From someone that went there every single morning and night with my call center job for coffee and sandwiches, they have lost a loyal customer that has spent a LOT of money at their establishment. Do yourselves a favor, and stop by KFC/Taco bell instead. Yeah, they're going to make you pull over and wait 15 minutes for sauce packets or something - but at least you won't turn out this livid and disappointed by the service. Whew. read more

This was a great McDonald's. After ordering and consuming 16 filet o fish sandwiches, I went back and got a large fry, 2 apple pies, and their famous fries that remind me a lot of the fried cooter giblets that my great uncle makes. Easily the dirtiest McDonald's I've ever been to. This place was G R O S S. The entire kids area was sticky. I'm not kidding - every surface had a sticky film on it and it clearly hadn't been cleaned in months.. years maybe? We tried wiping down the tables with napkins but they'd stick to the surface and tear apart. Makes me wonder how well they clean the kitchen! read more

If I could give them no stars I would. The woman taking our order didn't even type it in the system. After we slowly said our entire order she asked "what was the second thing you said?" She got the number of things and sizes wrong, and we had to correct her multiple time while ordering. After waiting over 15 minutes to get our food they still got EVERYTHING wrong about our order. This service was so bad I installed yelp just to warn other people. If you were thinking about going there don't! Save the hassle and go somewhere else, or go up a few exits. read more

Pretty gross bathrooms, employee acted like she was cleaning them but was simply restocking toilet paper. Egg biscuit was up to par. Staff was moderately friendly. read more

The service was awful they took over 30 minutes because they missed a minor detail about our order that if they had the competence they would have had us in and out in 5 minutes even with the considerable crowd only like 10 orders in total but still service like this deserves a good employee firing. By the way in other cases of stupidity the employees have forgot food items and mixed up orders all together all we got today was two McChickens and one Sausage McMuffin the service is unexcusable if it wasn't for the fact that this is like the only restaurant I would never go again. read more

Okay, it may sound silly to do a Yelp review for a global chain restaurant, but it's my morning choice for breakfast on the way to work. The reason is that I cruise in and take one of the two drive-thru lanes, immediately get asked for my order, pay, and receive my food. Generally the entire process takes less than 2 minutes. The coffee stays hot far too long, but it's affordable and consistent and they will put the cream and sugar in for you. I would like to add that the lady who takes my credit card every morning is fast, courteous, and professional. read more

Poor service rude workers. Do not stop at this McDonalds !!!!! I waited for 19 min. for my food and ended up asking for my money back because my food never came. I will never eat at this sickening place again. After ordering my food in the drive-thru, I sit with 6 cars ahead of me for a little over 30 mins. As if this wasn't bad enough, I was finally pulling up to the window to get the food, I see a employee who looks to be awoman in her 40's walking across the parking lot with her hand shoved down the back of her pants scratching her back side. As I watched her walk back into the restaurant and go straight to touching food. I told the lady working the drive-thru what I had just seen and she says "ok". Now here's the even worse part, I get the wrong thing to drink so I have to park and go in and the same woman who had her hands down her pants was standing in the same spot still touching food. The woman who I told in the drive-thru sees me and tells another worker " there he is". Like I was wrong for saying something. This place will never get my business again. Its plain nasty. read more
