Of all the McDonald's in the Johnstown area, I knew there was a reason I had avoided this one until now. Something always kept me away from here until now. The reason behind this, I was not the one driving and as a passenger, I have no say in where food is to be devoured. This McDonald's has been here for the longest time. Even though things around it may have changed, they have stuck around. I mean, yeah, they "remodeled" the store, but it was more like a makeup on a pig situation. With that, if you have been to one recently, I don't need to described what it is like in here. We ordered at the kiosk, because it appears you will be ignored at the counter unless you have already ordered food from the kiosk. I can concur what another review states, they do not deliver your food to you. Negating the use of table tents. Instead, they will yell your order number throughout the store and just hope you hear it. Then when you go to retrieve your food, they will walk away without giving it to you...or your drinks for that matter. What confuses the heck out of me, why are you putting my food into a bag if I am dining in? Then take that bag and place it on a tray to hand to me. More work, more trash, less sense. Then I became a bit more irritated. When I looked in the bag finally they placed both orders of fries upside down in the bag. It takes two seconds to make sure they are upright and not spilling over. But for two orders of fries to be spilled throughout the bag kind or irked me to the point where I started mumbling about how inconsiderate these employees were. You know what would have completely bypassed this problem? Putting my food on the tray instead of inside the bag on the tray. My fries would not have dumped all over the place. If a few happened to scatter across the tray, no worry. To fish fries, that were piping hot (a plus I suppose since they were fresh), out of the bottom of the bag and try to make a large and medium out of them is not fun. I will touch on one thing in here. The noise. Not the overhead music or the televisions, because they did not work, but the noise from the kitchen. You can hear every conversation and move they were making. Even though it was a lesson learned, I will keep this in mind any time someone I am with wants to come to this location. I will not step foot back into this one, especially since there are several other locations all over the area that have better customer oriented experiences. read more

Burgers were not wrapped properly and food was handled poorly. They no longer bring your food to you when you grab a number, despite that being the entire point of the number tents, almost all straws had ripped packages and were open. read more

I'm a secret shopper, NOT tonight. It's 12:45 am. Friends and I we're out, they wanted a Big Mac so stop down town Johnstown and they were closed even though the site said they are open 24 hours, drove to this one with has a scary star rating. To our shock, food was amazing. I'm a vegetable lover so I dislike when there's a sprinkle of lettuce, burgers had tons! Asked for extra Mac sauce, got it. Burger looked like a commercial advertisement. Fries were hot without too much salt which I loved. They could have been cooked another minute but I'm not complaining. You are now asking yourself... 5 Stars for McD's? ( Mickey D's to some ) Have you ever seen= Eddie Murphy's "RAW"? This was my first ever, McDonald's. Even though my Mom was a fabulous cook, it was the coolest thing to go to McDonald's. Cheeseburgers that were not on Bunny bread, crispy shoestring french fries! Apple pie dessert... It was so good back then. Cheap burgers on a bun with pickles! Yum. No sauteed onions or green peppers, no ketchup bleeding through the bread. No finger prints on your bread! The staff, working tonight, were incredibly rude. Not that I expect much from a McDonald's. However, I was sitting in the drive thru for 10 minutes, with no service while being the only car there. Then after ordering, i could not hear the lady and she screamed "did you not hear me? I said pull around." I asked for ranch at the window, since the drive thru lady, didn't let me finish my order. The window girl said "yes" then completely ignored us and went back to doing other things. We did not get our ranch & the staff made our family meal, terrible. Another McDonalds review - no issues to report! Have been to this location a couple times with accurate orders. I get nervous about placing larger orders with a higher risk of mistakes, but ordered 4 meals a couple nights ago and received everything we'd asked for. Speed of drivethru was about what you'd expect. It was a pretty busy weeknight but with acceptable wait time. read more

Ronald McDonald is awesome! The food is so good I love the toys that you give! And the workers are so nice

I know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but I couldn't resist. ALL the managers and employees looked like drug users. I saw this one lady(I think she was a manger) had a long pony tail and was really disrespectful to the staff. She also sounds like she smokes four packs of cigarettes a day. Then there was this young man, he was really hyper and suspicious. When I saw him I held my kids back because I felt threatened by his presence. Now the food was a 2.3/10 for me. My kids hamburgers wasn't assembled correctly. And my Double Quarter Pounder(Add tomato) was almost RAW and my tomato seemed a couple hours old(Like expired). Now when I asked for a new DQP, they politely apologized and gave me a fresh one, but it seemed like the employees in the kitchen was making a fuss over my burger and I seen the hatred in their eyes. My French Fries were crisp and fresh, and my smoothie was also great and delicious. Would I recommend this place to people? Ehh... NO!!!. DON'T COME HERE... EVER... read more

I stopped here about two months ago on my way home from Friday Night Magic down the street in the Value-It! building. I ordered two McChicken no lettuce, and received two McChicken ONLY lettuce. I went back through the drive-thru to bring this to the attention of the management. I was told to keep the two I had, and they made me two more only Mayo, which was the way i wanted them. I left and went down the road, deciding to open one and eat it. I was rewarded with at least five squirts of mayo on each one, completely covering the bun, sandwich, and entire inside of the wrapper. Both were the same way. It seems some employee decided it would be funny to give me a ton of mayo one each one since I complained. This McDonalds is the worst in Johnstown. They once messed up my order by forgetting to give me a sandwich that I paid for and gave me some gross old fries. I spoke with the manager, after I noticed the missing sandwich when I got home, who said she'd mail some coupons out. I waited and waited and never got them so I called again. All I wanted was the coupon for my sandwich and when I went to use it after I finally received it, they told me I couldn't get the sandwich I wanted because it was only $1. Stupid me went back after this again and I was given some more old cold nasty fries! Never again! read more

I have to give credit. For the first time in months I was forced to go the J-town McDonald's for a celebratory ice cream. The ice cream machine actually worked this time and they got the order right on the first try. I have now upgraded my opinion of this shole to one read more

I stop by this location once a week, often before I buy groceries at the nearby Giant Eagle. We all know the menu so I won't get into that. What's important to impart is that the food is always fresh. The store is mostly clean. The employees are nice. It's mostly awesome! You can trust this store for a decent McD's visit. I did have a couple times that my order wasn't right, but it almost always is. For that reason, I could not give 5 stars. Still, 4 is really great! read more

Went in for the new sandwich, talked to Nickie, she was so nice, even said if i dont like it, she'll give me a new one---it was the pico guacamole chicken sandwich--was great!! I have never had an issue until today. I went in with my kids (2) just to have a bite to eat. My daughter ordered a kiss meal 6pc chicken nugget and my son got the same I asked about the deal if you buy a quarter pounder if the drink and fries were still free. She kindly informed me it ended on the 13 of this month. I said oh okay that's fine I'll take the quarter pounder meal. I paid my total which seemed short but thought maybe there was a coupon she used. My number is called and j walk up to two kids meals and just a quarter pounder. I asked how much longer for the fries and a drink and I was told I didn't order it, I said I wanted it that's why I asked for the meal. The woman(who was different from the cashier) apologized she turned to a manager and the manager said just give her med fries and a cul I pulled out my cash and was told it was taken care of. I thanked the lady. As we went to sit the manager just reminded the cashier to reask if unsure well then the cashier lost it her mouth kept running about how she made a small mistake and she was about to snap and lose it. It didn't make me feel safe sitting in the restaurant with two small children of the cashier was saying that she was about to lose it. I quickly rushed down my food to get us out of there. This place has gone incredibly downhill in the past 2 years or so. When you go into the place (it is SO not a restaurant), it's obvious that they are not prepared to handle any type of busy time- you have to stand around for far too long (in one instance we waited 10 minutes!) and when I asked what was going on I was told they were "just busy". The first FEW times this happened, yeah, I can understand that, but this is now consistently how this place is run anymore. Don't even get me started on the drive-thru's extremely poor service. It's always either they can't hear you from the highway noise, or you cannot hear them from the highway noise! When I have not gotten any response to indicate someone was actually taking orders, I have said "Ummm.... excuse me, is anyone there?" I have been answered very rudely and it does no good to ask to speak to management as I believe them to be part of the problem here. I worked at the McDonald's that was in the Richland Mall almost 30 years ago and this place is not even close to what McD's used to be. When the food IS hot, it has the consistency of warm cardboard and/or is hard as a rock. When I have called to speak to management, I was informed that they either didn't know what to tell me or I was told that the food is cooked to order. BALONEY! It is NOT cooked to order! The crew leaders apparently do not keep par levels of high-volume items during any kind of busy times and I don't know one person that understands the whole concept of suggestive selling. Also, unless you check your order as they are handing it to you, it's a real crap-shoot whether or not you will actually receive what items you ordered. In the past 2 months, we have not gone through the drive-thru without having to "pull up ahead" since they didn't have what we ordered ready. Um.. okay. It's pretty bad when the formula is apparently too much for them to serve quality food and/or service. I cannot understand how the Jakubowski's (probably spelled wrong) could have let this place deteriorate so badly and keep their name on the place. After a minute or so, please go ahead with your order. 2 large diet cokes, and one large regular coke please You want 2 cones and a coke? No two large diet cokes,and one large regular coke. if the order on the screens correct please pul to the first window. Well screen not showing order, just weird language with words or letters randomly positioned across the screen. pull up, pay. drive to the second window. None of the sodas are marked to identify which is diet and which is regular. One tasted like distilled carbonated water, with a food colouring added in place of the syrup. we assume this was the regular coke. the other two tasted slightly like diet coke. If staff can't pres down a lid button to identify what is regular and what is diet, I can't blame them for being incapable of monitor syrup levels on the soda system Poorly run franchise read more

Horrible service. Employees were rude and fought with one another. My order was small and it took them 5+ minutes. I was the only customer there so its not like it was busy. Also when I pulled up to the window nobody was there and I had to wait for longer than usual. 3 minute trip took 10+ minutes. read more

The staff is great but the quality of the breakfast is usually horrible. The bacon is usually black and smells nasty. The hashbrowns are completely soaked in oil and almost always get thrown away. Its like they just dipped them back into the fryer to reheat them. I would expect better at 6:30 am, and this is the norm. But the staff is great. read more
