MCD is what MCD does. This place is an All American eatery with a spot in all of our hearts. The food is consistent and the smell of the French Fries has me salivating. The Service is hit or miss but ordering thru the MCD app has helped with more promptness in receiving my food. WFH in the Mandarin locations on Old Saint Augustine Road (better setup for working but loud) or the top of San Jose (quiet but the seats are hard). This place is hit or miss depending on the shift. I always ask for my food to be made fresh, because have experience with being served food that has been sitting. My main problem is since they went to kiosks they don't even acknowledge people waiting at the counter. So when someone gets rude to get their attention then the customer is wrong. You may be asking yourself "Carla are you a glutton for punishment?" The answer is typically no, I am a fan of giving people, stores, etc. second chances. We were going to go to a restaurant, but then our kiddo said "I just want to go home and eat." That was our first mistake. If you read my previous review, you'd know I tried the drive thru at this location and we were in line for at least 30 minutes. This time was no different, so I asked my husband to park and I'd run in. So I was naive to think it was just the drive thru because I waited inside for about 30 minutes until our order was complete. I will say everything in our order was correct, but 30 minutes for fast food isn't fast. Also, after going into the restaurant, I noticed that the floors and tables were sticky. Which wasn't a ringing endorsement for giving them a third try. So suffice it to say I most likely won't be returning to this location. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Pulled into the drive thru last nite at 2108, two cars ahead of me. Took them 9 minutes to take 2 orders and me to get to the order box (the guy in front of me order a 10 piece nugget and a coke, so not a complicated order). Ordered a double quarter pounder with no cheese, ketchup only, large fries, sweet tea. Twelve minutes to get to the pickup window. I check the burger, it has onions on it. I gotta say hey to the window guy because he's busy chitchatting with someone I can't see and didn't notice I hadn't pulled away. I tell him the burger is wrong, and he cops an attitude, says I should have been specific. It's on the receipt correctly. He asks what's wrong with it. I say, it has onions. He says "so you don't want onions?" When I firmly say no, I want two patties, bun and ketchup, like I ordered, he said don't get mad at me, I didn't do anything wrong. It took them less than a minute to get the correct burger out. No "I'm sorry", "thanks for waiting". Drive-thru cashier took the wrong order. I asked for two Mc crispy deluxe and got 2 Mc crispy. I believe that getting the right order at any Mc Donald's is a hit or miss, there's gotta be a fix to this issue. Seems like drive-thru cashiers listen and assume what you ordering, they go by assumptions. From now on I will be ordering through the app, I hope I get better luck with my orders from now on. I have to agree with the other negative reviews here. This location of McDonald's is horrible! I've given it multiple chances for breakfast, lunch, & dinner; each time it has failed on me due to the quality of food. Service has always been friendly here, but they need to learn about what is fresh and what is not. For example their buns are dry each time I've had a burger here and the bagel I got a couple of weeks ago could have been used as a weapon it was so hard. But last night we got apple pies which were the worst I've seen. They were all dried out. We picked up our food around 6:30 at the drive thru. Our fries and burgers were cold, but the apple pie was all dried out and had a serve by 6pm sticker on it. From now on it's Wendy's across the street. read more

Never had an order missing items or prepared incorrectly. Staff are usually fine to deal with. Haven't witnessed any WorldStar moments. The workers here are just probably plain freaking lazy!!!! So then the girl tried to give me something else, but I said no you'll just need to refund my money,, she then went and told, which I am assuming was the manager, he came over and said: "We ain't got shakes, you want a Frappuccino?" I said no, just refund my card. He looked at me like "really", told me I need to pull forward and to give him my card. After about 10 minutes he came back with my card. ‼ZERO Stars‼ EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK! Twice now I've gone through the drive through and been handed food by a person either not wearing a mask, or wearing it around their neck where it's doing absolutely nothing to protect the food being offered to customers. The first time I went through and I addressed it, the person made excuses. When I asked to speak to a manager, the manager came from the background also not wearing a mask. I had to ask him to put it on. I addressed it with him, told him I've been a public health food inspector, and he assured me they'd wear their masks. That was a month or two ago.    Last night I decided to try going there again, and the young man ("Tray" or "Trey") not wearing a mask handing me my food argued with me that he wasn't "in the back of the store" and "was wearing a mask" while he had it dangling around his neck. He argued with me that it was ok because he was about to end his shift and when I told him it wasn't okay because he was still serving food, he argued more. I asked to speak to the manager. It was the same manager from the last time‼ I explained the situation and he immediately looked back at the employee with a half smile and joking attitude and told him to put his mask on. I told the manager this was unacceptable and he said he remembered me from last time. He told the now two young men behind him that I'm the food inspector he had told them about previously and the kid who handed me the food without a mask said that I should have just told him that, then he would have put his mask on... WHAT?! I told him he had to be kidding me while the second young man standing next to him told me through the drive through "where's your mask?"- like if I don't have one on in my car, I can't address them not having them while they are working preparing and serving food. The manager then told him to be quiet as I was asking "what did you say"? The manager then tried to push me to move along and said, "everything's good" it's all taken care of like he was the one pulling the shots and as a customer, I couldn't voice my concern. That manager is completely unprofessional. And from the now two times I've been served from his crew during his shift, he's proven he doesn't enforce the masking requirements.  This is completely unacceptable, and honestly, the manager deserves to be fired for not caring about people's health when it's been addressed multiple times. This McDonalds is newly renovated. Service mist of the time is really good. The icream machine was broken. But whats new. My grandbaby ordered a happy meal which was decribed as either for boy or a girl. The toy is the same for both boys or girl. So whats the point to ask for boy or girl. Food was good. Fries excellent and no complaints except that i wanted a sunday and no dice my friends. The icream machine is constantly broken. Playground is renovated and my grandbaby loves it. I walked into McDonalds about 1650, with my wife after work. There were a few customers sitting down eating. My wife and I walked up to the register to order, and of course, their is no employee to take our order. We waited about 10 minutes and I saw a young kid putting a happy meal into a bag. He saw us standing there the entire time. I finally said, "is anyone working the registers??" He looked at me and said, "I'm busy!" No manager around of course. We left! This particular McDonalds is a shithole place to eat. I only go there because I do not want to drive out to Phillips HWY. That McDonalds on Phillips HWY is really good. Their management should train the employees on San Hose. Will never go back there! I have had other people say the same thing...but nothing ever gets done to fix the problem!!! read more
