I don't quite understand the low ratings of some of the reviews I see here. I stop at this restaurant nearly every morning and have seen first hand how well run it is. The service is prompt and very friendly and the food is always hot and fresh. And - very important! - the coffee is excellent. I found out just *how* good this restaurant is managed compared to others recently when I had to go to another nearby McDonalds due to a water main issue and found the service, food and coffee quality was *far* below that of the Haymarket McDonalds. I've noticed the same thing with other McDonalds I've visited. So, taken by itself or in comparison to other McDonalds, the Haymarket McDonalds is top notch. Not only were there no drinks available, but they took the order wrong and they were snarky about it.

They literally steal your money and they have the least likable staff I've ever seen they stole from me and my brother i was def better off going somewhere else. 30 min wait time on average the food is either under cooked or left on the heat lamp too long just don't go. read more

Terrible service every time I come here. Today I had ordered a Strawberry shake and a large sprite, and I waited in the curbside for over 25 minutes. I finally came in to ask them about it and overheard them sharing with another costumer that there's no ice cream. So they had me sitting in the curbside, confused and waiting instead of an employee just coming out to communicate that with me. On top of this, they never accept refunds!! Other day wife ordered a McChicken sandwich which looked awful...smashed down with filling coming out, looked terrible. I ordered the McCrispy, same thing, smashed down, all the lettuce, tomato and sauce off the sandwich all over the box. The chicken was soggy and in pieces...this was less than 5 minutes after getting the bag. Fries were mostly on the bottom of the bag not in the container. First I realize this location has had staffing issues. One morning I waited over 20 minutes as the manager was the only staff in the building. 4 Stars is as high as I can give a fast food restaurant like McDonald's. After getting some java in the previous review (see Blackberry's), I realized I was starving - it was the second day in a row I forgot to eat breakfast - which is bad. It means that I am out and about and will end up eating something fatty and high calories - rather than a healthy, low calorie breakfast I would eat at home. It was right around noon-ish - the fastest and most available option was the McDonald's just down the street. So I made my way in. A moderate amount of folks were in here eating lunch. I ordered a #3 - Double Quarter Pounder w/Cheese and French Fries. She tried to get me to go for a large - I opted for the smallest size on the fries and drink. I sat at a table to eat my lunch. There are two CRT-style color TVs in the dining area - each with a DVD player mounted on the bottom of it. I don't remember what was playing on them - I'm guessing it was more for the kids. There was a family sitting to my right at a booth - there was a little toddler in one of those McDonald's high chairs - he was fussing and crabby - I guess they set the cardboard fries container on the tray of the high chair - because a moment later - he decided to fling the container - and French fries went everywhere! Mom did not seem to happy about this as she began cleaning up his mess... I wolfed down the rest of my food. As I was heading out the door, I noted that the place offers free Wifi - I did not see anyone in McDonald's taking advantage of it. read more

I can't believe I keep ordering from this place. I guess it's Soley because my six-year-old likes the chicken nuggets. Time and time again this place fails to exceed even the lowest levels of customer service. We had food delivered tonight and the one single meal they forgot was my six-year-olds. I called McDonald's and was given the excuse "we are too busy come and get it". Thank God door dash has a great policy for refunding people. If you intend on buying McDonald's I suggest driving a couple miles up the road where they will probably get your order correct. This McDonald's really took the fast out of fast food. We felt so bad for the manager who was the only one working his tail off to make sure everyone got their order. We waited over 30 minutes in a relatively short drive thru line (6 cars or less). They had our order ready for us once we got to the front which we were very thankful for, and the food was warm and tasty (Spicy Chicken Deluxe). I generally don't mind this McDonalds. It's usually hit or miss. My experience wIth my orders and customer service via drive through is worth at least four stars unless the person taking my order hasn't had their own breakfast yet. Sometimes, I do have to order via DoorDash/GrubHub because our work schedule doesn't correlate with school and dinner time. Tonight, I ordered chicken nuggets for the kids and a Large combo meal so that I could share fries with them. This (pic) is what I received. It's barely even enough to fill a medium. This was just plain laziness and/or poor attention to detail. And before anyone jokes, I'm confidant it wasn't our DoorDash driver, Adam, because the bag was sealed LOL. And to top it all off, the large Dr. Pepper I got was nothing but carbonation. Again, attention to detail would have definitely derailed any errors when filling this simple order. read more
