I also tried the Settlement latte which is named after the African American community in this part of Prince William County. If you want to grab something to eat, they also have breakfast and lunch food options as well. Vibes: One of the best parts of this coffee shop! It's more than getting a cup of coffee; they've put a lot of thought into the decorations here which celebrate Black authors and artists. I just happened to notice them this morning (Jun 30, 2026) as I was passing through the retail complex. They don't have a formal sign on the building yet - but I saw the open sign - and went in for some caffeine. Turns out they are not "formally" open yet. They are still in "Soft Open" mode as they work to get everything just right. For example - their air conditioning is not yet installed - and you could feel it! The gentleman behind the counter shared with me they are scheduled to get their AC up and running tomorrow (July 1). I remarked they need to get in going ASAP - as we are about to experience a heat wave starting tomorrow! I ordered a large cold brew with Half n' Half. As I watched the gentleman prepare it - he did something I've never seen other coffee shops do - he whipped the Half n' Half before adding it to the cold brew! As someone who has experienced the environment firsthand, that part is just as concerning. Overall, I hope management takes a closer look at both the waste and how employees are supported. I like mochas and I believe they use Ghirardelli syrup for those. The mocha tends to skew sweet, which is fine with me. They're not very rich drinks. There are also a lot of other flavors, which I think are your standard syrups (they can be fine and so many cafes use them, but they sometimes are a bit artificial tasting.) I just didn't feel inclined to go in. A coffee buddy said she wanted to take me to a coffee shop she really liked and it turned out to be Vita Nova Creations & Coffee Company. Now I am kicking myself because I it took me so long to enjoy a cortado from here. The baristas were very friendly. The young lady who helped me was not familiar with cortados, but she was willing to give it a try. She did great. The espresso to milk ratio was perfect. The milk was super hot, but a little time walking around the shop before sipping fixed that. What a shop!! From jewelry, to clothing, to paint, and stationary; this shop seems to have it all. On top of all the amazingly creative merchandise there is plenty of seating. I am very glad I finally visited this shop! Enjoying life one cortado at a time!
