This McDonald's was less than desirable. I needed a restroom stop and it wasn't as clean as I would like but after washing my hands, the air dryers did not work. I tried both and neither came on. They need to just move to paper towels and make it more sanitary. I got there when the breakfast menu was still available so got an egg mcmuffin and hit the road to my next stop. Took forever for our order. Normally this wouldn't bother me because I work in food service and I know it can be harder to get certain orders out in a timely manner. First time to the McDonald's restaurant on Airport Road in Arden North Carolina. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich, french fries and tea. The sandwich was soggy. The picture of the sandwich showed lettuce and tomato on a fluffy bun There was nothing on the sandwich but a little slop of sauce. The chicken breast was SO tough! The french fries were good thank goodness McDonald's still makes good french fries and the ice tea was okay. I will never try this fast food place again. read more

This McDonald's used to be fine and we ate here frequently, but they made major changes recently and it is simply awful, worse than awful, just gross. First, when walking through the parking lot, I saw a male McDonald's employee giving the finger for an extended period of time to a jeep in the parking lot. I don't know or care what happened, it is totally inappropriate for an employee to do in front of my son. Then we saw that the restaurant was filthy. Trash was everywhere! Garbage cans were overflowing and spilling onto the floor. It was clear that employees were not picking up anything. We saw that they had remodeled which meant that they partitioned everything off and squeezed in more seating including bar stool seating. So it was hard to squeeze into seats and the chairs make a horrible screeching noise when moved. They also added a new kiosk ordering system so now you don't deal with a live person. The kiosks are huge, taking up all of the waiting area. Putting in the kiosks allowed the owners to fire most of the staff which explains why the place is filthy and really slow. With the new kiosk system, they now give you a number and you wait at a table. We waited 30 minutes for our food which is unacceptable! We spent that time debating if we should cancel our order and leave. A shabbily dressed girl with a miserable look on her face finally shuffled over to the table with our food. She was missing my coffee drink and parfait so I had to go back to the counter and wait for those items. So I ended up eating an ice cold biscuit. We used the restroom when leaving and my son saw a man use the toilet then leave without washing his hands. My husband went in later and saw that someone had crapped in the urinal. Really? When a place looks filthy then it is common for nasty people to treat it with disrespect. It is terrible that bad owners and lousy managers have ruined a once-decent location. My family has eaten here many times since it is convenient when we head out of town or run errands nearby. My husband and I have been leery of McDonald's anyway since we both got Norovirus last year along with hundreds of other people at the Brevard McDonald's owned by local state senator Chuck Edwards. I intend to complain to McDonald's corporate and the owners. This location should shut down until they get thoroughly cleaned and trained staff are hired. I will never ever return to this McDonald's ever again. I am a DoorDasher and I waited 45 minutes in drive thru line because store was locked. Once I got to the window I said I have a door dash order for "name" she stood there and said I don't go by names. Continued to stare at me without saying anything else, I said okay what information do you need?? Told her a number she told me to pull up ahead and wait some more. When she finally came back out she stopped and held out the food like 4 feet from my car instead of walking 4 more feet to hand me my food from the window I had to pull up to her... I said thank you. I went through the drive thru window, with the intent to use a code from the mobile app. I gave the drive thru employee a code for a free item (fries) and the code did not go through and it was not removed from the bill. Before I paid I made sure to ask the attendant if the code went through because on my end the code refreshed and I wasn't sure. With the most obnoxious attitude she said she put the code in and it was for points - I proceeded to tell her it was for the fries and she just went off. Yelling at me how I was wrong how it was my fault that I gave her the wrong code. She proceeded to put in the new code (again with the nastiest attitude I have ever gotten from a McDonald's employee) When she returned my card I asked her for her name (I did not at any point raise my voice or give her attitude.) and she gave me the most stank face and said it's on the receipt (it wasn't) and SLAMMED the drive thru window. When we drove up to the next window I had to ask another worker for the first woman's name. Which was SUSIE (she wears glasses and has bangs). The whole situation was completely disrespectful and disgusting. She should be put to wash the dishes - so she doesn't interact with the costumers. read more

Worst McDonalds I've ever been in. Slowest, messiest location. In need of more workers.

This has to be the worst McDonalds ever! I love the self-order kiosks, but that was the end of the things liked at this McDonalds. After ordering, there is nowhere to stand. The kiosk tells you to pick a number and go sit at a table. The employees were calling out a totally different number. We ordered 2 sausage biscuits. They say a tray with 2 biscuits on it down and, after a few minutes my wife asked one of the employees if that might be her order. Very rudely, the employee said "yes, we called your number, maybe it just wasn't loud enough for you". Then, my wife asked for mustard. The manager comes around the corner with 2 packs of mustard, scowl on her face and put the mustard on the tray without saying a word. My wife asks could she have another pack. Same routine. No appreciation for our business at all. Businesses like this need to understand they wouldn't be there without consumers. This McDonalds has a large amount of new employees and they're doing a great job. The restaurant is clean and modern, my food was delicious and fresh.
