I had a very disappointing experience at this McDonald's location (3009 Gallows Rd, Falls Church). I stopped by to pick up an online order and decided to try the advertised "Big Arch" sandwich as it appears on the large display at the ordering point. The person taking the order (possibly an automated or AI system) confirmed they had it and even asked what size I wanted. I even asked again to confirm that they have it. When I pulled up to the first window, the cashier had no record of the order, seemed confuse and can barely speak English. At the second window, I tried to clarify whether they actually carry the "Big Arch," but there was a clear communication barrier, sorry but the lady there didn't speak any English. I was unable to get a straight answer and asked for someone who can speak English or maybe the manager, but there were none and got ignored. In the end, I only received my original online order and left frustrated. This experience reflects poor coordination between their ordering system and staff, lack of awareness of promoted menu items, and inadequate customer communication. Until these issues are addressed, I cannot recommend this location. read more

I use the MCD app to try to order 3 standard McMuffins and after 20 minutes and watching many drive through cars go through waiting i got out and entered inside and ask to speak to the manager. She spoke poor English and we could not understand each other.. WTF? A young person who was bi-lingual found my order and quickly provides the meals and they were tasty. Is the clientele entirely Hispanic? Heck no - we are an international group. A manager that speaks/understands English in America is important. God bless the complete idiots who work here. Every morning they manufacture a line because they don't follow McDonald's basic process. You order at the microphone, they start the order, you pay for the food at window 1, get your food at window 2. The reason for this process is so that by the time you get to the second windows they had 5-10 minutes to make your food. But not here these idiots like to take your order at windows 2 creating a bottle neck there and don't start your fee until you are there. So you get a 30minute line for 3 coffees. read more

It's a 24/7 McDonald's! That alone makes it a popular place. Then again it's located at the heart of Merrifield, close to 495. Traffic can be an absolute nightmare. There's a reason they have two drive thru lines. Yet the staff here is super. They also work extremely hard to make it happen. Here's where sometimes I'll grab something quick. They have excellent coffee, and it's cheaper than 711, Dunkin, or Starbucks. Also it has 1/3rd of the caffeine, so no shakes and plus flavor is good. Dining in here they have a clean area. It's of decent size as well. This is a fine Golden Arches, and definitely does a lot of business. read more

3/17/20 Well shit, My mind is not with the program right now. I had forgotten a lot of restaurants with a drive thru will only be using a drive thru. Gotta love this coronavirus outbreak. After placing my order of ranch chicken wraps with diced onions (better known as hydrated onions), I found out the order was wrong. The lady fixed the order at the 1st window and my order came soon afterwards. Guess what? The order was wrong again. We are now going two for two. Just wonderful. This is the same McDonald's that calls Triple Cheeseburgers, "Triple Cheeseburgers" only with two slices of cheese. Enough said. I thought I would give this place one more try. This is a larger sized McDonald's on the inside with a big dining area and if it's a busy time, you might be hard pressed for parking. The crew who took my order was okay but could have been a bit more "on." I was impressed by the fact that they had someone working the lobby refilling coffee. That's pretty neat! I should start by saying we live in the area, and while I can deal with them getting every one of our orders wrong, and taking longer to service drive-through than any other McDonalds, recently they made the mistake of adding meat to a sandwich for a vegetarian. Even if you're not a vegetarian, you can imagine what it would be like to take a bite out of McDs sausage when you're expecting egg and cheese only.
