My critique of this restaurant was the bathroom was nasty. The service was good and the food was prepared correctly and was hot and fresh. The décor that they updated it to is just A Blah décor. Less seating, let's see it just not an inviting atmosphere to the inside of the restaurant. And also you cannot get your own drinks. You have to go to the counter to get refills. I'm a bit confused with this location.. I recently moved from Johnson City to Elizabethton and I don't quite understand why it takes 20 years to go through the drive thru? Not only that but the past two times I have came to this McDonalds they only seem to take cash???? Not to mention I would say my time frame the past two times is between 9pm-11pm est. Any other location I have been to NEVER only accepts cash after a certain point. This location is a complete joke and a waste of time. read more

It's a shame that McDonald's is the laughing stock & the butt of all jokes in Elizabethton. I've worked in fast food running a very popular chain restaurant for close to 10 years of my life & a handful of other places so I'm not at all putting anyone down that works for in food service but either the owners & managers just don't GAF at the Elizabethton location or they just shouldn't be running a restaurant. My guess is they don't GAF anymore cause they still get the business. I actually cared about the customers & making sure they got what they paid for.. Or I made it right. McDonald's doesn't even address their complaints. If I added up the money, time, gas that I've wasted at this location I'd have a good pay check!! Every single time it's something. NO JOKE!! The other night I go thru after picking up my son from work & he wanted McDonald's. Pull up to the speaker I hear "pull to the second window & Order". So now I look ahead with several cars in front of me & the slowest guy I have ever encountered taking orders, taking money & waiting for that order to be done one at a time. 20 minutes go by. If it wasn't for my picky son I would have pulled out & left like I seen several other cars do. FINALLY get to the window, order my son's combo and an ice cream cone & surprise, surprise "Our ice cream machine is down" of course it is. It's ALWAYS down at night. That's a standing joke through Facebook. My guess is they're too lazy to clean the machines again. So they tell everyone it "isn't working!!"... he then proceeds to tells me to hold on a minute before finishing up with me & goes to the guy that is at the last window. The window that gets pulled up when waiting. I see him go back and to the other window & see someone sit the food that I have ordered but not paid for on the register...After about 10 more minutes (we've been in line for over 30 minutes at this point) he finally comes back and tells me my total. I hand him my bank card & I see him swipe my card a couple times & then unplug the Credit card machine, plug it back up and swipe again. He then comes to the window, hands me my card & says "Sorry our credit card machine is down. Do you have cash?" I didn't have any and ask my son if he had any & he did not.. I said "No neither of us have cash". He says "Sorry!!" I was like "ok, the food is already done. I've waited in this line OVER 30 minutes now & you all are gonna just throw the food away" & he said "No one of us will eat it".... WTF!! I'm not at all happy & let him know thanks for wasting 40 minutes of my life for nothing!! It was clear he didn't care. So two more days this week I order breakfast & again & my son supper last night.. The first time there was a hair in my gravy. That was over $6 wasted. I always get the biscuit & gravy with extra gravy is why it cost so much...Last night I got my son the 20 nuggets, 2 medium fries & 2 McDoubles plain ketchup, and cheese only. Only to get home and the fries are OLD!! And NO a cheese on either McDouble. This morning I'm in a hurry cause I have to pick up my grandson from school and get our EASY breakfast order & after paying almost $2 for extra gravy they left it out. I'm home, I have my toddler grandson and don't feel like putting him in the car seat, driving and wasting more gas to get a side of gravy. I use the mobile order so it's useless to call and be put on a list for what they forget to put in your bag. I have a happy meal and a few other things that probably a few book fulls back with they way they are... My grand kids and youngest son love McDonald's and I do prefer their gravy & biscuit over anyone's but when is enough, enough? The owner must really not care at all. It's so bad there's always jokes or complaining on my Facebook feed. Good thing I brought my breakfast home this morning to. No silverware, no napkins... The crappiest part of McDonald's is if they mess up on your food they take the food back just to throw in the trash instead of what other places do & let them keep the messed up food.. This is just the last couple days with this place!! They also need to do something about the lazy people that park in the mobile parking places as well. I have to drive around and wait for someone to pull out just so I can get my mobile order. At night the employees take the ones on the end and park in those. I've see them all the time go in, talk and no one in the cars.. Guess I'll drive down a few more feet to Hardee's from now on... read more

Ordered two McDoubles 'plain' with NO sauce (ketchup, mustard) at drivethrough. Didn't mind being told to pull forward and wait, thinking they might need extra time to do them withough sauce. Opened the wrapper to find a glob of mustard and ketchup oozing off burgers that looked like they had been thrown across the room onto the paper. There was icky chaos going on in that wrapper. Will pass up McDonalds for Burger King next time. read more

Drive thru was not very busy, 4 cars in a double drive thru, and the one thing I ordered was wrong. My Diet Coke was a regular coke. I was taken back when the drive thru people were not wearing gloves but I let it go. Unfortunately, I had to go in as the drive thru was now busy. Sign on door says masks are required. Yay! However, it took me 10 minutes to get someone to trade the regular coke for a diet. I had to ask 3 times! During my wait I watched in dismay the employees wearing their masks below the nose and in 2 cases employees wearing their mask below the chin! If the nose is not covered then the mask does nothing to "help" prevent the spread of COVID. I did take notice that everyone I could see back on the cooking line had their masks on properly, but the front area, getting drinks, ice cream and put the orders together were not practicing healthy habits. One employee giving out orders in the lobby had her mask below her chin. Very disappointing. I will not be back! read more

Does anyone remember when McDonald's used to be good and the employees could easily get your order right? Now the place is awful. Not only can u get the food you ordered but it is so unsanitary. There are flies constantly buzzing around while you are trying to eat. Not to mention the fact that all of the employees that are there now are cracked out of their minds. just downright terrible on September 2nd 2023 We went to McDonald's in elizabethton TN to get breakfast we ordered a sausage egg and cheese biscuit they gave us sausage biscuit instead also we ordered a bacon egg and cheese biscuit and only got an egg and cheese biscuitalso cheated me out of a McGriddle and they gave us cold fold and when we go to call they turned their phone off cause they had to many bad complaints read more

This restaurant was nasty! When you got out of the car to go into the restaurant the front door was nasty the parking area looks like it could us a good cleaning as well.Tables were wiped off with dirty cleaning cloth! Drink station an absolute mess straws everywhere, empty cups setting where you get drinks, ketchup everywhere. Workers uniforms were so dirty with food on them. Manager took our order his clothes were terrible. Didn't go to restrooms knew I wouldn't us them from the looks of the place. Our wait was 15 minutes ordering inside on the kiosk for the new bbq chicken tenders, two large fries, a McDouble, and two drinks. The drink counter was dirty with a bag of straws out that no one bothered to put in the dispenser. The tenders were drowning in sauce and quite dry. Fries were over salted. The Coke tasted like it was missing syrup. To top it off, I discovered my soda cup had a large crack in it after I got to the car, and it was pouring out onto my lap! Get it together! read more

My husband got biscuits n gravy there yesterday n now he has food poisoning had to go to the hospital last night n its definitely food poison and that is the only thing he ate yesterday when he got home from work last night he felt so bad he couldn't eat dinner a couple hours later were in the ER.... Over 20 minute wait for new barbecue tenders. Drove around after 20 minutes, asked for refund. Was told by manager the tenders take six minutes to cook, we took your food out to you, here it is. Yes, they took my food out........after 20 minutes!!! read more

Great place with great service. The new buttermilk tenders are great and this McDonald's makes them fresh every time. Definitely reccomend.
