Subtotal + 15% Surcharge = what you ACTUALLY pay. When I confronted them about this, the manager stated that it was "to help the chefs in the back." To which I responded: "Maybe you should pay your employees what they deserve instead of dumping your responsibilities onto your customers." The issue isn't just that a surcharge was added, though I still find it unreasonable, but that it was never mentioned beforehand. It felt intentionally hidden and was added without any disclosure, which comes off as really sneaky and unprofessional. We had the Wilbo Combo, Build Your Own Burger, and The Spicy One Brat. I understand that staffing issues happen, but good management should adjust accordingly by limiting capacity, reducing hours, or temporarily closing, rather than letting service suffer this badly.
