I ordered my breakfast on my McDonalds app this morning and some reason it went to the McD's in Middleburgh Bagley and not my McD's Bagley Berea. I had no idea it happend and when I pulled up to the window the server didn't know what to do and got the manager on his own. At first the manager couldn't do anything but then she went above and beyond and took my phone, tried to cancel my order at other store and then ordered my breakfast at her store on her. omg this is amazing McDonald's ! fresh food , happy and workers full of charisma , customers in this Mcdoanlds even are usualy cool . the fries I got from here were crispy hot and perfectly salty omggg. cheeseburger i could tell was fresh and made with love . i legit watched a worker put so much care into mixing the McFlurry they went out of their way to mix it better with a fork . also their portions are better like if you order a 4 piece you might get a little extra nugget and that always makes me happy . Because of the crowd when I placed my order it took a tad longer than usual , which I didn't even realize tbh, they gave me a free cookie to compensate the wait . Pulling into the parking lot the Golden Arches tower above, shining like a beacon, a signal for the radically increasing obese population of America. The "M" stands for McDonalds (common knowledge to the masses), in the slowly clogging arteries of my heart it now stands for something much more. Stepping inside, I first notice the crew of cashiers donning black Faded Glory polos with somewhat matching black faded hats. It really is the only color choice, seeing that it's slimming. At the register a middle aged woman named Martha greets me with her Jack O' Lantern smile. She quickly won me over with those five words we all long to hear. "May I take your order?" It was like having a raspy voiced angel whisper the meaning of life into my ears. Perusing the menu, I came across a few delectable items. Searching my pockets for my coin purse (only the finest gentlemen carries a coin purse), I lay out the exact change for the order. Martha wishes me a great day and suggests that I come back soon. I stare into her one lazy eye, at least I think it was the lazy one, and tell her, "You can count on it, sweetheart." As many know finding a table at this fine establishment can be a daunting task. I prefer to sit right between the vagabond reading yesterday's paper while slurping a two hour old coffee and that senior citizen wearing a newsies cap, his gaze ever fixed upon the entrance door. Here is where I will drown my sorrows by consuming thousands upon thousands of empty calories. Staring down at my platter, the Golden Arches adorn every package, all with greasy sustenance awaiting inside. My thirty-two ounce cola sweats from the heat of the recently fried ten piece. I take out one golden brown crispy nugget and slowly push it into the tanginess of a sweet n' sour packet. It's like foreplay before mastication. Have you ever tasted Chicken McNuggets? If you have, you know that they taste nothing like chicken. You know what they do taste like though? Fucking delicious. The fries here are a masterpiece to behold, like Da Vinci's Mona Lisa or Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, they are what can only be described as perfection perfected. Mario Wong Gonzalez, the fry cook, is an artist in the truest sense . Also, the apple pie I devoured was better than your grandmothers. I have only two small gripes. The puma, open mouthed, in the back wearing a sign around his neck that read PlayLand and the distraught mother crying for her lost toddler. They were both dragging me down a bit, that was until I took another sip of my soda and returned to bliss. If you're ever in the neighborhood make this the place you go, you know if nothing else sounds good or you don't feel like waiting fifteen minutes for a nice square meal or you have a hankering for gray meat or your kids won't stop whining for the latest ten cent toy or you just want to meet Mario. You could just go if you're terrified of clowns in yellow jumpsuits, you know just to overcome your coulrophobia. It's the worst and isn't the best. Fast food in Cleveland lacks allllll kinds of service and also lacks food that you ACTUALLY order. If you refuse to let them bully you then you'll get what you want. This location I ordered a few snack wraps and a number 3 with a few drinks. 20 dollars almost. It's a decent amount of food. Went IN for coffee on Sunday, waited forever, had to remind the counter person WHAT I ordered and then had to ask for my coffee after standing there for 10 minutes. Then my coffee wasn't even HOT. She was taking orders and the morning manager stepped up to the other registered - took one order and disappeared. Then the other gal disappeared. No one was taking orders. After about 10 minutes she re-appeared and when asked if anyone was working the counter she just went wide eyed, dropped her jaw and said Huhhhhh? At that point, I left. I went through a period of almost 23 years without stepping into one of these shit shacks, but in my current situation--caring for 2 disabled women and being the runner at work--I'm FORCED to go to Mick Dick's on occasion, that is to say I WAS forced to go, but never again. I went to get breakfast for the folks at work and tried to pay with a $100 bill and was totally refused, no if, ands or buts. (After this I went to Burger King, where I was served happily while using the bill.). I called the corporate office because I'd been told by a banker that it was not legal to refuse any coin of the realm for the satisfaction of a debt. Corporate called the owner about the situation who in turn, called me and left a message. She said it was her policy not to take the bills because the had gotten 3 counterfeits and there was no way to recoup the loss. (With all the new watermarks, holograms and special paper used it is near impossible to counterfeit this bill. The old bills, yes, can be counterfeited, but there's the marker that can be used to determine whether the paper is the special, government bond or not. And I'm inconvenienced because the retro-grade morons who work there can't handle a marker.) While leaving the message for me the owner allowed that I "might have had" a real bill, but it was her policy to not accept them. "MIGHT HAVE HAD" implies that she thinks I was trying to pass a bad bill and for that I say to her GO FUCK YOURSELF, AND DO IT TODAY. Things are more expensive these days and many are carrying larger bills so their wallets aren't crammed full. Hell, Mick Dicks' slogan years ago was Mick Dicks' "gives you change back from your dollar." Now you're lucky to get change back from your $20. I was using the drive-through and as soon as the woman saw the $100 bill she shut the window and I no longer existed, same with the management inside. And so, for your purposes I no longer exist, there are plenty of places that WILL accept the bill, and with a smile! As I said, I went for 23 years without eating their poison (last time was in Marion, Ohio when they had a nice, julienne chef salad) and I think that I'll easily be able to avoid going to ANY Mick Dick's for the rest of my life; after all, there are plenty of food places that don't promote obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes or heart disease. read more
