This could be the slowest McDonalds if not the slowest fast food restaurant in the world. They have 6 waiting bays that are always full. Not once, whether a multi-item order or just getting a drink, do I not get told to wait. And if all 6 bays are full, you sit at the speaker because no one can move. And somehow making it worse, the food is still lukewarm and bland. The only reason anyone comes here is the location being the only "fast" food place for several towns. read more

Here, the food is either fresh or not fresh. It's usually fresh and it's a great burger at times. The service is quick at the drive thru, but takes longer in person. The ambiance is like any other McDonald's restaurant chain. read more

Very nice exterior and Interior, you can tell it is a newer restaurant. Cool lay out. Cool wall designs and table designs. Plenty of spacing in the restaurant so you don't have to be too close to people. They deliver the food to your table here which is nice. The booths and lighting are quite nice. They don't let you get your ketchup yourself but that's reasonable. Overall the seating is the coolest feature. This one is definitely top tier. These fries are so damn good. The best nuggets I've had in a long time. Ketchup is fire tho. Lid dispenser for drinks is awesome. The employees are very nice. The food came out quick. This place has horrible service. We waited a half hour to ask for our order. I asked for 3 drinks a S, M, and a L. Used to be good but lately I'm not sure what has happened but they cannot keep up. Waited in the drive through for 40 minutes today and when I finally got to the window they asked me to drive up and wait further. Then they messed up the entire order they gave me sausage instead of bacon, I hate sausage, and there was no hash brown. Finally I ordered my coffee extra extra and it was black no cream and no sugar. What were they doing in those 40 minutes? The place has plenty of staff. I ordered a happy meal small vanilla shake and a medium chocolate shakes. When I pulled up the girl handing me the food handed the shakes which were quite melted (but they were so busy so no big deal) however the small shake was not filled and was three different colors. I said I'm so sorry I ordered a vanilla shake ... She looked at me in disgusted and said that's what you got I said I'm sorry but look at the shake note sure why its grey and brown but I know its not vanilla ( my foster son only can get the vanilla so we know they are yellow mostly white looking. She said she didn't fill it.. I said yeah no problem, but can I please just get a new one. I have two kids sick at home waiting on these. I further said I'm not trying to be difficult but look, then again I showed her the shake and asked what that was she very rudely said have no idea we push a button and that's what comes out. I said Yeah but we can agree this is not correct, could I please get a vanilla one since that's what I paid for. She reluctantly went back to the shake machine, I watched her point to me while other workers used the machine she returned to the window saying machine was broken.. even though I saw others still making shakes. I said not sure why you are being so rude these are for my sick kids and I don't want to give them something with clearly other things in it especially not knowing what it is... she was so rude.. I get things happen , honestly no big deal but to be so incredibly rude and not try to fix it is such bad customer service. The Mcdonalds in Orange ma is my go too when my foster kids need a treat and all my kiddos want a special treat as well but this makes me not want to go there again. In the past if a shake order got wrong an employee would simply apoligize offer immediately to make it right or at least get someone who could fix or explain the situation. The older man, who I think is a manager, spends more time playing around and joking with his teenage girl staff, than making sure they actually do their job correctly. While traveling down Route 2 we were a little hungry so we decided to stop in at this McDonald`s. When we got off the highway the signs were a bit deceiving and it was farther away than we had hoped. After we finally did make it to this location, we were happy with our choice because we received good service and good food . The restaurant itself is large and it was nice that they had a double drive up. This location also had a playground which you don't see often. The staff here was polite as well as quick and the food was delicious. Overall it was a decent place to stop and we are happy that we chose this location rather than the one a bit further up Route 2. Again, it would have been better if it was closer to the highway. read more

Let me begin with: When the food is made correctly, it's Delicious! With that out of the way, it seems to me that our local Mc D's is currently doing some major changes. Much needed changes. The late night staff tries to get out of doing their work. The late night menu goes until 4 am. But according to the staff, it is not. The Cashier started arguing with me telling me that I had no clue about the policies at this particular MD's. They shut down the grills by at least 3:30 and refused to serve me what I ordered. The cashier first said: "We don't serve that food after 12 pm", then I informed her that I had called ahead of time days before to check the rules and times of the menus. She told me I was incorrect. Then she stated "The cook already turned down the grill, and it takes too long to get it up to proper temperature" I then told her "I am here at 3:30 in the morning, do I look like I'm in a rush? I will wait for the grill to be turned up". She then stated "The cook already cleaned the grill off and does not want to have to re-wash the grill". I then told her, "HAVE HIM CLEAN IT, IT TAKES THREE SECONDS!" She then told me: "We can not prepare the food you are requesting, because we already put it away". I disputed that. She then told me that I could not have french fries because they already turned down the oil, and they put the french fries baskets away and they only have hash brown baskets. She then stated that I was incorrect with all of my information and that she is tired of explaining it to me and that she was going to go get the manager to set me straight. By this time, 3:50, she comes out of his office and angrily told me "You can only order these three sandwiches, and if you want fries.. you have to eat hash browns" Then as she was taking my order, she was angrily scolding me telling me that people like me make her angry and she's tired of putting up with customers like me and that if i want to eat, then I should come earlier. She made sure we knew we were not wanted, and all I could do is think "please don't spit in my food, I've seen that movie 'Waiting'.." 3 out of 5 times I go to MD's here in Athol, my food order is incorrect. And when it is, and you complain (like the glazed onions on the Bacon Club house) about something missing, they say "we ran out of it" (meaning they don't want to prep any more), oh my favorite Sandwich is the bacon club house. Yet for some reason, the cooks don't understand that BACON is supposed to be on the sandwich. The last time I went, I had 1 half piece of bacon and no glazed onions. I am glad they have people coming in and overhauling the store. It's about time. I think the Staff needs to be trained better in, not only, Customer Service politeness, but how to make the food properly, how to pay attention to the slips when it's a special order, and to train the window people in what is on the food (like asking for no tomatoes on the bacon club house, the person said "they don't come with tomatoes". Then, I had tomatoes on it! Frustrating. I hope the new managers get their staff in line, or fire the people who don't know what they're doing. Always had horrible service but I have a different complaint. I applied for a job here and got called back for an interview. I happened to go to school with the girl who interviewed me, never once spoke to her though, I went to shake her hand and she wouldn't touch my hand which I already thought was weird. Then I would call the store and nobody ever picked up the phone. (Bad for service too)I found out later two of the employees also went to school with me that I've also never spoken to had told my interviewer they didn't want me working there. I think this is very unfair to keep me out of a job Bc we weren't friends in school? Or because you don't like me for a reason I couldn't even explain because I've never spoken to them. Worst McDonalds ever - customers are forced (not asked if busy) to use the self service kiosk - of course I'm not sure how you're supposed to know that. I walk in, walk up to the counter and am waiting (there's no line), and the manager tells me to follow her to the kiosk she won't take my order unless I'm paying cash. went to McDonald's about 9pm, waited at least 20 min in line, get up to the first window and the young short lil girl working is definitely new and really dosnt know what she is doing. Im not sure why a crew cheif or whoever was running the show but clearly just as bad cause to put your weakest person in drive through in main position was suicidal. We had 2 orders, my daughters and just a shake for me, there was a choc shake sitting on counter already but she had to go and make a straw shake for my dauhters order then, asked someone to make my van shake, goes to take my money which is 5.02. I give her a 10 and told her I'd get her 2 cents, she must not of heard me and starts counting put 98cents, when I give her the 2 cents she tries to get change, thinking 2 cents but I tell her no there should be no change just a 5 bill. You could tell by looking at her that she was frantic and making so many mistakes cause she was so frazzled. Note to crew cheif: pay attention to what's going on, a 20 min wait is ridiculous, if its not working change people up and put your stronger person in the main position at the window. However this does not surprise me at all cause the other day I went in and was totally ignored, the "crew cheif" saw me but ignored me for like 5 min and is working g on fries and what not but never once said to me ill be right with you, I had to ask if I was invisible to get her to acknowledge me. I do not go to McDonald's very much at all anymore since the raise in their prices and the customer service plummeted. Get your shit together management or is it you just really do not care about your customers, cause I really don't get it.
