Had an initial call with the company and very professional and prompt. Tech showed up and diagnosed (after I also informed them of what was wrong trying to be proactive so they could get the part) but unfortunately made me pay for the visit without any bill, stating this would follow, but after 3+ attempts I could not even receive the bill but was charged. Reached out to the owner with no response either. They had stated they would be back on Monday with the part to fix but I could not reach them nor did they show. Difficult to recommend or provide positive feedback on their initial actions to gain my business but HVAC still broken. Informed them I could get the part but tech stated he was being pushed to go to other calls and could not finish. Tech left our home during the initial visit to get a part but came back with an empty box and no part, leaving us without AC for days. read more

Have used McCourt twice now over the past couple of years. I find them to be thorough and conscientious. Out to fix the problem, not out to try to sell me a new boiler when the older one I have is still working fine, unlike another company whose name begins with an F who I have used and will no longer use. My husband and I have been customers of McCourt for several years. We hired them to address a problem two days ago b/c we had no hot water. The tech was able to replace a part and the hot water began working. The bill was $544. By yesterday, the water was cold again. We called and were told that there would be no charge for returning to the property since they just worked on our boilers two days ago. This time the tech did something else to fix the problem and the bill came out to $500, we were told. We debated the bill with the tech and he advised us to call the office. When we called and spoke with an ARROGANT manager, we were told that they are not responsible for warranting all types of problems in our system, that we did not have a good understanding of our system, that we were exaggerating b/c the bill was only $400, not $500, and that if we were "refusing to pay the bill, that's cool." We will pay the bill and we will NEVER have them or their DISGUSTING manager work for us again since that is how they treat their longstanding customers. If I could put ZERO stars, that's what they are worth. And this review is not for the Bronx. This happened in Poughkeepsie. read more

I had a pressure relief valve shooting water all over my basement floor. I called McCourt, and they were there in a few hours and quickly repaired everything. Hello please send to upper management I have not had a working unit for central air or heat since April. It gets really cold with 2 small space heaters. Worker spent several days and visits to install a "new unit" which never worked, they ordered another "part" which took 15 days to arrive and spent approx 2- 3 hrs today fixing it. Now I have just been informed that the "wrong unit" was ordered so it cannot work. This is ongoing and for the last 4 weeks theres been a constant flow of workers, work orders, and me coordinating being home and securing pets etc. They are now starting from scratch and looking for a unit so they will be back working iny apartment removing the one that was installed by mistake. I'm going to be out of town sat Dec 17-26 I'd really appreciate it if they could figure something out for jan- Feb I hope we can work this out. ​ read more

Professional, knowledgable, friendly, and skilled. Traced the issue, fixed it, double checked that it was resolved, and answered our every question. Charge was reasonable and fair. Continually impressed by the folks at McCourt Heating and Cooling. Laura in the office is the very best at what she does. She is extremely communicative, organized, and responsive. We have used this company for all our heating and cooling needs for our home in Beacon as have my wife's family and friends in Newburgh. Today (Jan 4th, 2022) a sensor on our boiler (not installed by McCourt) failed while it was 15 degrees outside. Laura was able to get Bill to our house within and hour and he had it diagnosed and back up and running in no time. Came home from work to no heat and called McCourt Heating & Cooling to come and check my boiler since they had done service at my house before. After the tech left my property my boiler was not working, when I called the company back to informed them, the receptionist was really rude and disrespectful and ended up telling me our conversation was over. I called back again explaining that is 38 Degrees outside and I have 2 little kids, at that point receptionist said if I keep calling she will not be sending a tech out. 10 mins later my husband calls and they finally agreed on sending a tech. When the tech arrived to my house his attitude was really NASTY and RUDE asking my husband what was the issue when they created the issue in the first place. I stumbled on McCourt several years ago and they are the ONLY HVAC company I will ever use. I trust Kevin, Laura and the rest of the employees and they have never steered me wrong. They always educate me and explain things to me and present me with options. I was thinking of putting in a new furnace at one point, thinking it would be more efficient, but Kevin thought that the infinitesimal difference wouldn't be worth the cost. He saved me $2500! Other companies would've taken that money and ran with it. Kevin also repaired our very dangerous central AC electric. We could've had a serious house fire due to the installer's (not McCourt) negligence. I'm about to call them for another job and look forward to seeing them again. read more

Horrible service! I used this company last year to do my yearly cleaning of my boiler. The service was standard. I called this year to set up the same service and the rates went up $50. I was told that a coupon was sent out in October which offered a discount. I did not receive the coupon so I was charged the extra fee. Now that's not the worst part. From the moment my service tech, Mikey, arrived I felt like I had a used car dealer at my house. He told me numerous things were wrong with my boiler. My boiler was working perfectly before this guy arrived. By the time my boiler cleaning was completed, I was informed that my expansion tank was bad, and I had water and rust in my brand new oil tank. He told me that my expansion tank and pressure gauge were old and water logged. He said that there shouldn't be water in it. (I later found out from another company that it should in fact have 2-3 gallons of water in it.) The tech claimed that if I didn't replace the expansion tank I would have water all over my floor or it could explode and rocket across the room like a torpedo. He further told me that I was lucky because he happened to have the part in the car and if I did the work now, I could avoid another service fee if he had to come back to do the work. I didn't trust this guy so I said no. Well low and behold, about 3 hours after the tech left, I did indeed have water all over my basement floor. The tech never closed a spicket on the boiler and buckets of water were coming out of my system .I might reiterated at this point that my boiler had NO ISSUES before this tech sabotaged it. He tried to sell me a new expansion tank to the tune of roughly $300 plus a $150 cleaning of my new oil tank to get rid of rust and a new pressure gauge. I called McCourt to tell them about all of this and to tell them that they needed to fix my now broken boiler. They said that it was a coincidence that things broke after they worked on it and that it would indeed cost me at least $350 to come back and do the repair. Clearly, I was not about to give this company another penny of my money. But the next morning, I had no heat and my boiler was not working. Because I didn't trust McCourt, I called Jovan & Sons Plumbing who came over within 30 mins of my call. They diagnosed and fixed my boiler within an hour. Turns out that what I was told was broken was working just fine. The problem was my circulator. They replaced that part and everything is working fine. McCourt refunded me the fee for the cleaning because of the mis-diagnosis. But here's the best part. 2 weeks later I noticed another thing that McCourt clearly caused. My exhaust pipe leading from the boiler out of the house was not cemented properly leaving a large gap on the bottom side. Now condensation builds up and I have a water drip when we have heavy rain. I called Mc Court again to tell them and I was informed that I was refunded my money and will not be serviced in the future. Basically, since I used another company they will have nothing to do with me even though this is another issue caused my their service tech! I have never dealt with a more unprofessional company. From now on, Jovan & Sons will be my go to company for all of my boiler and plumbing needs. Please BE CAREFUL of their unethical practices. read more

An emergency service visit by McCourt to get my heat back on revealed that the water feed valve on my boiler had been turned off, resulting in no water for the boiler, so no heat. McCourt had replaced the pressure relief valve in December 2021, which necessitated turning off the water feed valve. I find it hard to believe that the water feed valve was turned back on in December 2021 but was mysteriously off in March 2023. My boiler has been serviced exclusively by McCourt since 2021. When I objected to paying the $360 emergency fee that the valve shutoff had caused, I was told by customer service that either I pay half of the fee or they would drop me as a customer. I could see no reason why I should pay anything for a problem caused by McCourt. I'm putting this review here to warn potential customers. Negligence was followed by lack of responsibility -- not at all a good combination. Needless to say, I am no longer a McCourt customer. read more

McCourt Heating and Cooling Nov. 8th 2019 came to service my furnace as this is a new home to me. I am recently widowed and did not know what there job entails. I've since learned! I did tell the young man I am pushing this red button my father in-law showed me everyday to start my furnace and most likely need a new nozzle and maybe more. The service man 'Mickey' Never vacuumed, didn't even bring in a vacuum never changed the nozzle never even tested the furnace before leaving. When I reminded him he stated "you don't need any new parts but I can put them anyway if you'd like and charge you". Some service. I had another company come in to repair my furnace to find that the wrong nozzle was on the furnace all full of oil "not changed in sometime" and tells me along with the control box is bad. Tell me did McCourt do there job... Calling McCourt back which I did first (before I had to bring another company in) to let them know I was still having to manual start the furnace with red button the company stated they were going to charge me $225 just to walk in the door. WOW really.. Don't use them! They totally rip me off was it bc I didn't know what they were doing - I was a widow perhaps a single woman or ??? Not ok whatever the reason! read more
