I get my service done for my 2017 Ford Escape all the time. Thomas Janel and Brian Dempsey the Service Managers, when he is working, he ensures I have the best visit possible. He is always ready to answer any questions I have and reassure me that everything will be taken care of. I haven't had any issues as far as getting service done. If i were able to select a lower rating, I would. I found this dealership's practices to be dishonest, deceptive and simply repugnant. The salesman was totally dishonest and engaged in a numbers shell game; pretending to offer a meager MSPR discount credit while attempting to hide the exact same amount debited elsewhere. I was insulted and treated with a total lack of respect. I was able to broker a deal for the exact same truck at a different dealership for FAR lower than McCarthy's sales team offered; although they continually to assert that they were offering the car at cost. I called before going to this dealer, and let them know that I had been shopping around for awhile. The manager said he could definitely beat my best previous deal, which I outlined in detail. Long story short-after the 1 hour drive, i got there, and suddenly everything had changed! I got back into my car after 5 minutes, and headed home, out the gas money plus time wasted. Purchased car from here for my daughter and have had nothing but problems since driving it out of lot. Literally made it 3 blocks and realized window did not work drive back there and was told of we thought u you knew and were very unhelpful. 4500.00 car didnt even last a year it had so many problems and after putting more and more money in it ended up having to junk it. Would never take a vehicle to this dealership for service. They can't handle a recall without causing vehicle breakdowns since they worked on it and with the exception of Craig and Brian in the service department they are ignorant!! And service manager says just bring it back if there's another problem. In the past 34 days the car has been in service department 10 days!! And I have had to pay $446.28 out of pocket when it broke down in Canada. Wouldn't give it a star if they would post it without at least 1star. read more

I have bought four new cars from McCarthy. I am a Ford man now. I think they are great cars and very reliable. I found the service department at McCarthy pretty good, no complaints, but I have never had major service there. I find you can get a pretty good price at McCarthy, as good as you can get at any dealer, if you do your homework. McCarthy is like most car dealers who try to maximize their profits, but they also like to sell cars at a volume. I just bought a new Fusion there and got a pretty good deal, better then any Ford dealer South had offered. I have read some of the negative posts here and I understand them but that has not been my experience. They are the top volume dealer for a reason. read more

My wife and I recently decided to purchase a Ford Flex SE. We called around to several dealerships in an effort to get a good deal. A sales manager at McCarthy emailed me a very attractive quote. After checking my credit he said I could get get the car at that price with zero percent financing. Done deal. I arrange a time to come in with my wife two days later to make the purchase. The sales manager I spoke with had the day off but everything was supposed to be set up for us to sign and go. We get there and the salesman tells us that the rebates that were used to get us the price we were quoted are not applicable to zero percent financing. They did not dispute that the sales manager had given me precisely that quote with zero percent financing, admitting that "it was a big screw up" and that they could not honor that deal. They insisted the the deal was just too good for them to make and they tried to get us to agree to a less attractive deal (it was a decent deal but it didn't come close to what I had been promised). Needless to say we didn't purchase the vehicle from them. If you are considering making a purchase from McCarthy Ford, which I do not recommend, be sure that you have every single detail sent to you over email before you make the trip to the store. By the way, the deal that McCarthy described as "impossible" was not impossible at Fox Ford Chicago. I purchased our Flex later that day at the exact same price with zero percent financing. read more

I already got approved for a car loan, went to them, and was referred to Tom Hauck by the finance manager. He seemed like a nice guy, but insisted on trying to sell my wife and I one of the cars on the lot, instead of ordering an edge in the color she wanted. We even tried to call him back several times to maybe negotiate on one of the Edge's in their lot but he didn't have the common respect or courtesy to even call me back. Tjese guys seem more interested in pushing their old inventory rather than getting you anything near of what you're looking for. read more

The rating is an A-OK because the vehicle I purchased has served me well and that should count for something. When I bought the car, I was in no position to take my time and really shop. The salesman knew that and I think I ended up paying a bit too much, but he was just doing his job. (And I learned a valuable lesson.) I was pleased with the service department until one of the managers exhibited what could be described as indifference to an issue I was having with the car. I don't know if he is still employed by McCarthy and I can't remember his name, but he was of considerable size and could not have cared less about the problem, which was not insignificant. He told me they were too busy with oil changes and routine maintenance as it was shortly before a holiday weekend. He said my choices were to leave the car for three to four days or have it towed in when the car stopped running. I called to complain, but his superiors were gone for the holiday. I did not follow up after that as I got the sense that loyalty to customers was not a primary concern. I probably should have called back at a later date, but decided to avoid any additional stress. read more

I had a great esperience with McCarthy Ford. I live in a city 380 miles from McCarthy Ford. My wife had picked out a color of a new Ford Escape Titanium that had to have certain equipment. I didn't want to pay $1500 for a sun roof. My local dealer could not locate that vehicle in his dealer search without the sun roof. I went to the internet and searched dealers in a 200 mile radius of my city, Paducah, KY. I couldn't find the vehicle so I expanded my search to Chicago. McCarthy Ford had dozens of Ford Escapes and I found two matching what my wife wanted. I made an internet contact and got a call back from Pete Gleason within a few minutes. We talked and agreed to talk again after he got some numbers together. Anyway, Pete gave me a fair price on his car (I realize dealers have to make a profit to stay in business so I try not to be rediculous in my offers). I also was given the rebates that Ford offered plus Pete agreed to buyout a leased car that we had. The buyout was probably below market value of the car, but, still you can't expect to get retail on your trade-in. I had emailed Pete pictures of the leased car. I also have good credit and got the 0% interested being offered by Ford at this time. So......I get in the leased car and drive the 380 miles to Chicago. I got to the dealership and was immediatly greeted by Don Holahan who handled the transaction with me. The deal was just as I had been promised without any problems what so ever. By not having to pay for the sun roof on the cars on my area, I saved $1500. I'll drive to Chicago everyday to make $1500. read more

Didn't need an appoitment, took my car in for the Works package. In and out in an hour. Very happy. They listed what I needed replaced, and didn't push anything. Laid back atmosphere and friendly employees. I also test drove a new car while I was waiting for service, the salesman was very helpful. I told him I wasn't ready to purchase a new vehicle as of yet, probably in a couple years. He understood and wasn't pushy about buying that day. I had my oil changed and tires rotated in September. I had my car back in October because of the transmission acting up mind you I just bought this car in June. When they rotated my tires the car started riding funny. So they had my car for 3 days I had to rent a car. I called the last week of December to get an appointment for my oil change and she didn't have anything available until the first week of January and she was very rude about it the service lady that answers the phone to make appointments. i told her I can only do it on a Thursday or Friday which are my off days. I told her all I wanted was an oil change not to rotate my tires she gets smart with me and very rude saying well your car needs it. No not when you messed it up the last time I was there. So now I'm going to go somewhere else to get my car service because i don't like the rudeness of the service department. My warranty is good at any Ford dealership and I can get oil changes anywhere. I purchased a 2014 Ford Focus in June of 2015. I continually had issues with the car and returned to the dealer on Dec 19. 2015. It was my understanding that they would be giving me a new car in place of the 2014 lemon they sold me. I was wrong I was given a 2015 Ford Focus and they rolled the balance of the 2014 over to the 2015. I now have a $25,000 balance and another lemon of a car. I would like a resolution.
