I had been considering a Mustang Mach-E for a while, and after "test driving" one at the Auto Show, I was even more convinced it was the right choice. I signed up to be contacted by Ford, and the follow-up came quickly. Less than a week later, I was test driving a 2025 at McCarthy Ford. Overall, I had a positive experience. I understand car sales can be demanding, but the energy when I first walked in felt a bit unwelcoming. My salesman, 'Rodney', was very straightforward but also personable and funny, which made the process more comfortable. I did notice a shift in energy once it became clear that I was serious about making a purchase. The Sales Manager was also very pleasant to work with. Nothing but good things to say about both individuals. While I know my deal may not have been the absolute best possible, I'm still satisfied with my purchase and happy with my overall experience. I really wanted to give 5 stars, but I'm giving 4 because of a separate experience involving a family member. Shortly after my visit, they went in to look at cars and left feeling belittled by a different salesman (Bill). They're younger, and this would have been their first major "grown-up" purchase. That kind of experience can really discourage someone, and it was disappointing to hear that were treated that way. I've done business with McCarthy Ford for years, over a decade. I purchased a new vehicle from them back in 2014 from Dan and all my service/parts are through McCarthy Ford. I recommended my sister-in-law to McCarthy Ford in which she purchased and brand new 2023 Bronco Sport from the other Dan. I was promised by the staff a $100 referral but never received it. I called Kelly numerous of times and gave him the address to send the referral bonus to but it was never sent. It's been over two years going on three and I no longer do business with McCarthy Ford for the simple fact that they promised something and never fulfilled their promise. McCarthy Ford Service Dept. Nightmare On May 5, 2025, I purchased a new Car Battery and 4 perelli tires from McCarthy Ford for my 2015 Ford Edge Sport. Upon purchasing Perilli tires from McCarthy Ford, I also purchased a new TPMS Sensor as I was informed by the Stevie (the Service Advisor) that a new Sensor was needed. I never received any warranty documentation on the sensor, battery or tires, that I purchased from McCarthy Ford. Upon speaking with Stevie (the Service Advisor) on May 6, 2025, I inquired about warranties for the battery, TPMS Sensor, and Tires. Stevie told me via telephone on May 6, 2025, that there were are no warranties on the tires, battery, or tpms sensor. WHICH WAS A LIE! The service department receipt that I received from McCarthy Ford states: "ALL GENERAL PARTS INSTALLED ON THIS VISIT HAVE A 2 YEAR UNLIMITED WARRANTY"!! WHICH MEANS THE TPMS Sensor has a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty....... I WAS LIED TOO!!! On July 16, 2025, while perusing the McCarthy Ford website, I discovered coupons for: 1). Buy four select tires, get up to a $125 rebate or earn up to 27,000 FordPass® Rewards bonus Points. * On these name brands: Goodyear®, Bridgestone, Yokohama®, Michelin, Hankook, Firestone, Pirelli, Toyo®, Cooper®, BFGoodrich®, Kelly®, and Uniroyal®. 2). Per the service department invoice dated June 5, 2025, all issues related to my TPMS was resolved. I am PISSED! McCarthy Ford did not fix the issue! I believe that the Perilli tires are defective......... On July 14, 2025, I returned to McCarthy Ford in an effort to get the tire issues fixed. Per my conversation with the service department, my front left drivers tire had an alleged hole in the sidewall. (the tire was previously checked by a mechanic prior to me having my car towed to McCarthy and their was no hole), and I needed new brakes all of a sudden. No other information was given regarding the the other 2 tires and why they deflated! I instructed the Service Advisor to fix my breaks - ($679.90 for brake pads and rotors). On July 16, 2025, I picked up my Ford Edge Sport from McCarthy Ford and was told that a thorough inspection has been conducted on my tires and tmps system and everything was fixed. TO NO AVAIL.... Today, August 11, 2025, I went to the grocery store, and the local gas station to procure gasoline. Upon leaving the gas station, my TPMS Monitor light displayed a warning of low tire pressure. I have mixed reviews about this dealership. My purchase experience was great. No hassle from sales and they answered all my questions. Service is a different story, brought my truck for an oil change and a recall. The appointment was made in line and confirmation was sent. When I arrived greeter was rude because it was my first time there I didn't know steps to enter shop so I parked off to the side and a customer pulling up asked me what was going on. He explained to just pull up and they automatically let me in. After driving in the greeter started to tell me that I was rude for cutting the line without even knowing the situation. Rude as hell. Then I told him what I was there for and went into waiting area. After about an hour and a half I'm told my truck is done and I go pay to find out that they never even did the recall which I was there for. When I confronted the guy, he said he never looked at the notes and I had to come back to do the recall because it's gonna take a couple hours. So I took a day off for nothing which was a waste of time and what is the purpose of setting up your appointment online and asking you what you're there for and still not doing it read more

I used to have a decent rating for McCarthy Ford, but the ball has been dropped too many times. The only positive remark I have is that you can get in quicker than some other dealer shops. The service writers have almost no interpersonal skills. Every time I've used this dealer, there is something to deal with after. One time they forgot to rotate my tires. One time they didn't use the oil I asked for. They performed a recall for my door locks that were freezing, but the door locks froze again the same day when I got home. I recently wanted my coolant and trans fluids drained and filled, but they only do flushes. They flushed my coolant, and now the inside of my truck smells strongly like coolant. I have to wonder if they did sonething wrong again and damaged the heater core. read more

I took my car for repairs late August and within a month, I had already went to McCarthy Ford three times to fix the same engine issue with my Ford. The final time, I was told by Sam Hernandez (the assistant manager) that there was a crack in the engine and the cost would be pricy. I had already spent $1300 . The third and final time I went up there to speak with another manager named Mike to tell him the story and when I brought up being compensated at least fifty percent of the cost, I was told he'd talk to Sam and would get back with me within 48 hrs. That never happened of course. I called the business and left a message twice and no call backs. I will absolutely never go back to this place again. McCarthy Ford has the best Ford service department in the south suburbs. I purchased my vehicle from Hawk in Oak Lawn, but started taking it to McCarthy for service after dissatisfaction at Hawk. Communication with the service department is great and they are more than fair. I recently brought my car in with a weird electrical issue, that I knew would be difficult to resolve. I received a daily phone call to update me on the progress of diagnostics. McCarthy's service center put a lot of time and effort into diagnostics, but unfortunately couldn't replicate the issue. They kindly waved any diagnostic fees and advises me to monitor the issue, so it can hopefully be identified if I need to bring it in again. read more

So about a 1 1/2 ago I took my car to this dealership in alsip becuase my engine light came in. Sam, from the serivce department infrom me that I needed a new motor long block because the coolant was leaking. However, about a year ago it was the same issue with the engine where the coolant and oil was mixing. It was a manufacturing issue and they were suppose to put a new engine in but decided to replace a part of it. That was in the ford dealership in 9809 Indianapolis Blvd Highland, IN 46322. That's when I learn from Sam that Ford tells them what to replace and not to replace. Yesterday I called this Ford Dealership in Alsip because my engine light came on again and now I'm hearing nosies while I'm driving. Oscar, in the service department is the one i spoke to and he said that sometimes with these sensors they don't pick up things until later. The thing is i take care my vheicle , its 2018 ford escape with about 39,600 miles on it. So its not dogged out. It really seems that alot corners are being cut to save them money and things are not being checked. And that's going to cost me money and to having to constantly keep coming back. I acquired a Ford not by choice but by the devil saying "Ha,Ha!" Car wouldn't start, towed it here then it started. They couldn't figure out what was wrong and even though I needed new brakes, they suggest a battery. THAT DIDN'T WORK. After 3 tows, the owner suggested putting me in a new car. This was in '09 I came out a full size and ended up in a compact (FOCUS) just to find out I'm pregnant. That extra room would have been nice but I simply couldn't afford another sedan. The cars are expensive at this dealer but the servicing makes up for it. The guys here know me and my son since he was a baby and I have always been treated WELL. My 2010 car is there right now getting work done after Chicago potholes and cold weather did a number on her. Some dumbass knocked off my side mirror too! The repairs tapped into my new laptop fund but I rather have a working car this coming winter than a shiny new laptop. Mark is awesome! My twenty-four year old niece has been trying to buy a used car for the past several weeks, and unfortunately, has learned there are a lot of Con Artist in the used car business. She works full time and has a one year old, so this leaves her with little time to search for a car. Each sales person she encountered promised her they could meet her needs, and pressured her to go into the dealership, but each dealership failed to deliver. When I saw my niece two weeks ago, she told me she really needed a car and was having a difficult time. The following day, I took it upon myself to browse the available used cars in her price range on the internet. It's hard to believe, but things are worse than ever out there; I'm sixty years old and have purchased several cars in my lifetime. My experience prior to talking with TJ, Pete, Tim and Dan at McCarthy Ford was the proverbial "Used Car" experience. I called, emailed and text at least ten other dealerships, and each dealership had me speak with two to three different people each and every time. Every single car I found on the dealerships Website did not exist, and the amounts and miles had "typos." I can understand a couple of "typos," but I was running into not one or two, but most of them - and every person and every dealership said the same thing. It was all a waste of my time. ... Just when I was going to give up - TJ from McCarthy Ford called me about a used car I saw on McCarthy Ford's Website. TJ was an answered prayer - I couldn't believe he said the car I was interested in was definitely in stock. I had to ask him a few times to make sure. He also said he can get my niece her desired monthly payment with only $15 more each month for this car. Even though, TJ sounded sincere, I was still extremely skeptical. I told TJ that my niece was at work and already wasted so much time with all the other dealerships I needed assurance and needed the 'out-the-door' numbers in writing, and requested he text the figures to me. Since this was the end of their day, and TJ was off the next day - I received a call from Pete Gleason the very next morning, and he sealed the entire deal. He told me what my niece needed to provide in order for her to just get in and sign everything so she could be in and out of the dealership as soon as possible and arrive at her job on time. After texting Pete the necessary and requested documents, he said my niece should ask for Tim Ngo when she arrived. Tim Ngo, like TJ and Pete Gleason made the car buying experience truly enjoyable. Every single person we dealt with at McCarthy Ford, including the finance manager, Dan Bernahl, treated us with respect, kindness and courtesy. Even though my niece lives in Naperville and works in Oak Brook, and McCarthy Ford was a far drive for her, she is extremely happy with her car and her experience she had with Tim Ngo, and Dan Bernahl. She realizes how hard they all worked - and how much they did for her, especially since her credit score is only 524 and they still let her finance her car without a co-borrower. These guys came highly recommended from a friend when they were in Forest Park. They were so great that I went to see them again a few years later for a trade in. My friend also purchased his car from them and several years later returned for his second vehicle purchase. The dealership still stands in FP but not run by the same guys. I have moved to the far north suburbs but still and will travel about an hour to the Pulaski location just to see them, they have always taken excellent care of us and we have been very happy with our cars. I don't recommend this dealership's service department. I dropped my car off at 8:30a and I called around 11a and was told they hadn't looked at my car. This was after I was told that a mechanic would look at it in a couple hours and I'd get a call from service. I did eventually get a call from Megan and she told me I needed a new purge valve and it would cost $398.00 without tax (parts and labor). We spoke around 1p. I authorized the repair, but felt uncomfortable with the price. So, I did an online search and called another Ford dealership and was told that labor would be $167.00 and the part would cost 70.00. I called Megan at 1:10p and told her that I had gotten a cheaper quote, I changed my mind regarding the repair and I was picking my car up. She lied and said she couldn't stop the repair because the mechanics were half don'e with the job (a job she initially said would take 90 min). How could they be half way done and I called back 10 min later. When is asked for a manager she became irate and disrespectful. She did eventually agree to honor the cheaper quote, but I no longer trust this dealership and you shouldn't either. They were being dishonest about the cost, I felt exploited. read more

I didn't think purchasing a car would be a fun experience. I had a great time chatting with Tim and Pete while the finance manager finished up the deal. These guys will make you feel like good friends and they will respect your budget and your time. They went above and beyond for me. Even with my credit, they got me a low interest rate and a low payment. They didn't mess around with the vehicle they sold to me either. When I got in an accident and had my car totaled, my anxiety skyrocketed. I thought I was going to get stuck with an older high mileage vehicle. I caught a flat a week before & was ironically in front of a Sams club so I bought two new tires & I was informed my alignment needed to be looked into, so I came to McCarthy ford for a oil change & to have my alignment inspected. I use to live south and came to this particular ford dealership on 114th & Pulaski always! Then I bought a mile away from the United center & I still insisted on coming to McCarthy ford on 114th & Pulaski! What can I say this place has character, the staff is always friendly they have new chairs so the seats are comfy in the quaint waiting area & as a extra treat they have fresh popcorn popping in the lobby & it's better than movie popcorn, it makes a customer smile to smell popcorn! One time I thought to try a closer ford dealership so i called the one on Michigan & 23rd I think, any hoot I felt like a number in the deli and kind of got the impression they were too busy, so i politely said I would call back to schedule & never thought to call them again. Then I went to the ford on Elston ave just for a oil change & it took them from 9:30am when I dropped off the car to 2pm! That was absurd! It was just a oil change & then I felt the entire staff was on break when i tried to pick up the car. Mind you they are a new business in that area & large facility but no character & strangely you couldn't get the time of day from other staff members?! I left there feeling insulted! You feel at home here on 114th & Pulaski and you don't feel you will be taking advantage of here which is a super plus! When I brought my car here for service on May 20th 2016 at 10am I received a call from Brian Dempsey the 4 wheel tire alignment & both left & right tire rods were completed & ready for pick up at 3pm! Wow and I say that because that terrible facility on Elston Ave that call themselves a ford dealership could not complete a front break change or give me a call until the next day & inconvenience me and keep my car for a day & a half! I had to learn the hard way to appreciate a good thing to receive a call and inform you of your vehicle's status. Now I know only McCarthy ford on 114th & Pulaski know customer service! I will never stray away from this ford dealer, it's peaceful here, true you are in the dealership for repairs or buying a new car rarely do you think that will be peaceful but you feel relaxed here can't explain it, but you will see when you come to this one on 114th & Pulaski. read more
