I was then presented with a treatment plan totaling $2800. Mind you, this is 3x's the national average for said procedures so I decided to book a ticket and go to my regular dentist in Philadelphia. My dentist in Philadelphia found that I DID NOT have the 2 cavities I was told I had, and that I DID NOT need the deep cleaning that had been recommended. Learning this was extremely concerning and left me questioning the ethics of Old Town Dental. I believe they profile new patients based on where they live. I was left wondering whether treatment recommendations and pricing may vary depending on the patient. I can't say for certain, but the high cost of the proposed treatment and the big discrepancy between my diagnosis and the actual dental work needed raised concerns for me.
