My daughter and I came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch around 12:30; it was not busy, at all. There was a someone at the bar that did not greet us. When I asked him if they were open he did acknowledge me and said yes but kept his back behind us. We waited about 10 minutes and I asked her if she wanted to go somewhere else because I knew she was hungry. The person by the bar said he would be with us in a few minutes and made us wait another 10 minutes...no water, no menus, nothing. A friend and I came here on St Patrick's day. Every other local Irish place was busy and this place was too, but the guy on the phone when we called ahead said he'd get us in. He did! I've been going to this bar for well over 5 years. The owners have stayed the same and they're usually the bartenders themselves. They're probably some of the funniest bartenders in the world and are always super kind and generous. I cant speak much for the other nights (even though I've been going for years lol) but weds are wing nights where its 50 cent wings which come in a multitude of flavors. They typically have a special on drafts as well but to be honest with you, I never pay too much attention to the bill at the end. They're usually comping a beer here or two so it's never enough that I wince at the check. I always go here every weds with a small group of friends and stay typically from 830 to around 11. During that time, the bar can get a little crowded but there is always enough room to maneuver, bathroom is always clean and with the age restrictions on the bar (I believe its 23 and up) the bar is never rowdy though the average age in here seems 25+. It's a bar with super nice bartenders with authentic Irish accents (lol) and cheap yet delicious food. It's very homie and it's my go to bar. I'd review it on more things but to be honest, it's a 10/10 in all the categories I care about. read more

So this review WOULD be 1 star if it wasn't for the second portion of the night. My fiancé and I are frequent McBride attendees and wanted to spend NYE having some beer and wings before the NYE crowd came through. We walked in around 6:45pm to no greeting or acknowledgement and sat down at a high top table. Typically, the bartender would walk over to the table to take our order, but after a few minutes of sitting there, we realized that was not the case tonight. So I took my fiancés debit card and walked up to the bar and waited for the Older blonde haired bartender with glasses to finish taking her shot with another customer before she made her way to me. I proceeded to order 2 shots and 2 beers and she stops me and asked for our ID's, which is of course not a problem, so I walked the 5 feet back to our table to grab both of our ID's and went back up to the bar. She ended up walking away to the other end of the bar doing everything and anything to not help me or acknowledge me. If the bar was crowded I would understand and would not complain a single second, but this bar had only 3 older customers sitting at the bar. She then takes another shot, still ignoring me. She finally makes her way back to me and says and WHERE is this other girl (referring to my fiancés ID) and I go the girl I'm sitting with right there (5 feet away-clear view). She goes who's debit card is this?? (With crazy attitude) and I tell her it's the girl sitting at the table. She then replies, again with unwarranted attitude, that she needs to be at the bar if it's her card. No problem, I walk back to the table and sit down and have my fiancé go up to the bar now (again a 5 second time frame). My fiancé is now standing at bar and the bartender once again goes to the other end of the bar doing everything and anything to ignore my fiancé standing in the same spot I was. She proceeds to take another shot. I'm pretty sure she took 6-8 shots within this whole ordeal. She was taking her time, doing any little task to preoccupy herself before 2 men at separate times got her attention to let her know my fiancé has been waiting. The bartender finally acknowledges my fiancé by asking her how can she help her. She was clearly there because you asked for her to be there before putting in our order of drinks. But my fiancé just repeats our order for 2 shots and 2 beers and she only brings out 1 shot and 1 beer and my fiancé corrects her letting her know she said 2. The bartender then asks her who the second drinks are for.................. at this point it's as clear as day that the bartender is wasted. She finally gives us our drink order after being there for 20 minutes at a almost dead bar. We were really excited for food and drinks at McBrides, but this interaction really turned us off and we agreed to leave after we finished our beer and not even order food (even though we LOVE their wings). But, a shift swap happened and there was a new bartender! So we decided to stay since we no longer had to deal with that drunk bartender. We didn't let anyone know about our experience, so I don't know if he knew this, but he completely turned our experience around. He was so attentive and nice! He carried our shots out to the table for us and checked on how we were doing multiple times throughout the night. It was literally night and day and it was back to being McBrides like I typically experience. I want to say thank you to the bartender that saved our NYE! read more

Divey- Pub-by in Bellmore. I believe this location used to be the old Bulldog Arms. The place is on a corner right under the LIRR station and attracts a mixed bag of people. Earlier you have the commuters who pop in for a cocktail before heading home to face the rugrats and the wife. Later you have a much younger crowd with everything in between. The bartender is usually johnny on the spot and the drinks are both strong and reasonably priced. Parking is on the street. read more

A great local favorite bar in the heart of town by the train station that has not changed much over the years LOL except for the updated bathrooms! Beers are always ice cold, super friendly and accommodating bartenders and complete staff,Yes it is sort of a dive But a dive that should probably be on triple D with Guy Fieri,The food is very very good specifically the carnivorous burgers that are super juicy tasty and satisfying! Excellent place to go for wed pm hang out- cheap and very good wings and $3 beers. Bartender kelly very patient and conversational, we got exactly what we wanted there-sports on TV, music playing but not too loud, some friendly strangers, and in my book 3 beers, a plate of hot wings, a good looking and cool bar tender, and a clean and comfortable place to hang for 90 minutes with a friend was well worth the $20 I spent (my half). 5 star would have been given if there was anything that was just spectacular. But 4*s is a pretty good yelp rating for a small, friendly local bar, which is what this is. read more

Stopped at this bar on saturday night around 7 or so. Wasn't too crowded, bar area was just about filled in but the tables were empty. Sat down at a table with a few friends and ordered some drinks. There didn't seem to be any waitress service so we just went up to the bar to grab our drinks. The beer selection was decent and the bartenders were friendly. Some of my friends ordered the cheese fries which they said was pretty good. The location of this place is great, right behind the bellmore train station. Worth a trip if your in the area. read more

McBride's is a solid local watering hole. Great bartenders pouring good drinks at reasonable prices and the bar food is excellent. Solid dive-bar experience. Good selection of beers including my favorite (and infrequently seen on tap) Paulaner hefe. Your best bet is to come in the afternoon when it's quiet. Nice calm atmosphere. Nothing I enjoy more than a nice local watering hole, that serves reasonably priced drinks and food. They recently renovated to add a nice casual atmosphere. There are about 6 - 10 TV's for watching sports, a video poker game, and good locals all around. Sometimes they'll have live entertainment which is a plus. On Friday's and Saturday's later at night, it might fill up with 20 something's and get pretty crowded, but other than that (or because of it if you're alot younger than me) it's a perfect place to hang and relax. read more
