The bed, the dog's bed, the closet door.

Cute and clean with a few nice extras! We stayed in their basic room which had a full sized bed, small table and TV. We had our dog with us, and they gave us a little welcome bucket with doggy rules, an extra towel to wipe sandy paws, a blanket, a food/water dish, and a milkbone. Most places charge you a pet fee ($15) and that's that. While the shower was a bit small and room space was at a premium for our bags and walking room, we'd happily stay here again. Good pricing, clean, maid service prompt and during the hours they say they will be there...plus it's just a few houses from the beach. The only negative is that they don't want you to leave your dog unattended so you have to plan around that, and there's no cable, so you have to walk a block to the registration desk and get a dvd to watch (but it's free, so who cares?). Would happily stay here again, the price was perfect. We've had to pay a lot more to stay in a lot lesser places.

    This was a welcome gift!

I was blessed to stay at this cute little cottage! I loved it. So cute, has everything we needed! Thank you for such a great visit!

I bought a LivingSocial deal for my Mum for Christmas to the McBee Cottages and we used it this weekend. We fell in love with Cannon Beach - it is a beautiful, little seaside town and there is miles to walk on the beach. The cottages are very similar to the pictures on here and on the website. We stayed in Cottage 30 and were pleasantly surprised by the use of space and the fact that it actually was ONE block from beach access (they do not have a ocean view though). The cottage was small, but cozy and we made good use of the fire in the winter weather. Added bonus, they are pet-friendly (for $15 a stay)! They greet your pet with a Woof Amenity bucket, which was cute - the only sad part was that it wasn't addressed for my dog (who's name they had asked for on booking). It included a bone, towel, blanket, doggy bags, and a dish. Be warned though, while Cannon Beach itself is dog-friendly, most restaurants do not let dogs inside, so if you want to eat with your furry baby (and McBee has a policy that you are not allowed to leave your pet unattended in the rooms), you have to eat on the decks - which can be cold in the winter! Pros: -Close to the beach. -Cute, cozy cottages -Pet-friendly and greeted with a bucket of doggy fun. Cons: -Our cottage wasn't ADA suitable - shower is about half a foot off the ground and is very small. -Front desk girl was informative, but brisk - she acted as though she was too busy to answer our questions. -The regular price is very expensive, especially for the winter and the lack of services offered (no housekeeping after 2pm, no desk service after 10pm, requirement to clean up after yourself). -Cottages and garden are very close to the road - there is a hedge, but maybe an added trellis/hedge would help to make the property feel more private - we felt that we wouldn't be comfortable using the fire pit in the summer, due to the closeness of the road and the lack of privacy. Overall, the cottages are very cute and quaint, pet-friendly, and close to the beach. However, due to the price, we probably would not stay at the McBee Cottages again unless we got another deal - $159 a night to stay by the beach is a little too expensive for what's offered.

The rooms were clean and extremely spacious. The view and the sounds of the waves were dreamy. We didn't get a chance to use the pool/hot tub. Check in experience with Elizabeth was super smooth Scott was there his back up. I was shown a map including a list of places to eat and told about the wonderful DVD selection they have and how to find the menu for it online. I was also offered cookies that were not just for checking in but anytime during this day. I decided I probably want to try each of them just, you know, for research purposes. Happy to find a bag of saltwater taffy in the room and a comfortable table to work or dine at in a sunny nook of the room. The bathroom area is spacious, though the tub was out of commission which also was reflected in the room rate. There was a shower which makes things speedier and some nice bath amenities especially the bath salts. Fireplace in the room with a TV screen that doesn't dominate. Conveniently there was a small kitchenette area with a microwave and Keurig as well as mini fridge. All the things that matter when you're on a quick trip. The grounds are beautifully kept. Maybe because it was a sunny day or maybe just because everything about the area seemed quite well cared for including the rocking bench and the bird feeders where is the nearest feather friends actually feed. The attention to natural details is lovely. One more thing. I thought I had dropped my cars keys accidentally in rhe parking area and Chelsea was very helpful searching for them. This meal came after a surprise engagement for my girlfriend so I had high hopes and they delivered. We were greeted with a lovely glass of champagne and also received some specialty bon bons to end the meal. Starting with the venue itself, the restaurant is situated on the second floor of the restaurant in a quaint dining room. I was honestly a little surprised as I had assumed the restaurant was bigger but none the less it was a nice space. There's a kitchen near the entrance which is cool to see. The service itself was fantastic. They were welcoming and kind and fast to address any question or request. I also noticed they did a great job pacing as there would be times where other tables finished courses before we did but they still waited on our conversation to then clear and serve us the following dish. Now to the food. It was so delicious. I'll be honest that when I saw the menu in comparison to the prior night I got a little worried as the first two dishes I saw, crab and a mushroom soup were not something I would typically order at a restaurant. That being said...they were both incredible. The flavors and care that went into each dish was incredible. Great restaurants make items you may not typically like taste fantastic and this is a testament to the chef. We were loving all parts of the meal and it was an amazing dinner and evening to share. The bread and butter by itself were so amazing. It was such a lovely evening and thank you for making it so special for us. Would definitely come back if you're celebrating a big milestone!

We booked our stay just a few days before our arrival and I was lucky enough to secure an oceanfront fire pit room (there are only 4 on the property). As I reviewed the many advertised amenities on the website, I started to anticipate a great stay. On our check-in day my husband and I arrived around 2pm and were immediately greeted by friendly and helpful staff. We decided to wait in the library/lobby area for our room to be ready. The library has incredible views of the ocean and Haystack Rock, comfortable seating and is located just off the lobby where there are refreshments (water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, freshly baked cookies, muffins and scones), as well as books, puzzles and games. When our room was ready we were given welcome drinks (sparkling wine with blueberry purée), helped with our bags and given a tour of the room and the grounds. It was during this tour that we realized that the property and room came with many more amenities than we anticipated! Such as: complimentary car wash, chocolate tasting, shuttle to/from downtown, in room snacks & beverages and a S'more's kit for our fire pit. The room and property provided everything we could want for a relaxing stay. During our two-night stay we enjoyed the cocktail hour which included drinks & appetizers, a good nightcap which included cocktails, nuts & chocolate covered cherries, breakfast in the dining room (buffet style with made to order items), a Ranger chocolate tasting with the chef, dinner in the dining room, listening to the ocean by our fire pit, watching the waves and the bunnies from our patio and yes, we also took advantage of the complimentary car wash (hand washed at that)! The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, the grounds and room were well maintained and comfortable, the food & drinks were delicious and the amenities were thoughtfully curated and delivered. We wanted for nothing except to stay longer!

As my…read moreprevious review states, the view is incredible and it's always a fantastic stay every time. I wanted to add some details: You get 1 parking spot per room for the duration of your stay which is amazing and quite literally feet away from the famous haystack entrance. Bigger cars might prefer more ideal spots along the sides of the parking lot to reduce congestion of the entrance but those are limited. So plan the times you leave accordingly. Their booking system is different from anywhere else we've stayed. For the dates you stay, at check out, you get dibs on the same dates the following year. Which is why many guests have maintained the same reservation for many years. (That is also why it is always booked out) We see some of the same people every year which is also cool! It will require a $100 deposit which will be deducted from your total if choose not to book the following year. Otherwise that same deposit rolls over year after year. I found the full size refrigerator amazing for new moms who breastfeed and need to freeze their milk. I was able to continue my breastfeeding journey on vacation which I'm grateful for. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need; silverware, dishes, new sponge, dish soap, salt & pep, roasting pan, frying pan, pots, cast iron skillet, microwave, oven, coffee etc. So for families with small children, this also means snacks & mealtimes can be cooked inside your room. (We stop at Costco in Warrenton on the drive over!) If you want the biggest room, choose room #5. It is up a flight of stairs so keep that in mind. It's so spacious. There's a back room with 2 queen size beds, tv & vanity. That's where our kids sleep and plenty of room to play. Bonus, there a door separating the main part of the room where there is another queen bed, kitchen, fireplace and of course, the killer view. They are very strict (as they should be) about fire department requirements regarding how many people can be in each room. There are zero exceptions to maximum capacity. So book accordingly, not based on how many beds there are. Children are included in that count. There is no traditional turn down service but clean towels are provided every morning if you wish. Guests are asked (or have been in the past via the handbook) to remove their own trash which is right under the stairs requiring little to no effort. Also to remove shoes at the door to prevent sand buildup on the carpets as it's difficult to remove. Out of respect for Rosa (who we love) and her staff, we make sure the room is clean of any dishes, garbage before we check out as well as stripping the sheets and leaving on the bed for easier turn down for the next guest. Dogs are allowed on the property granted you pickup after them & remain respectful. No leaving dog unattended. The lower rooms have direct access to the backyard for easy potty breaks. The weather here is kinda funny in the earlier months of the year because it will forecast rain the whole week and be sunny/beautiful for at least half the day. That said, it is windy sometimes with king tides so walks on the beach are dependent on that. Hope this helps! Check that website for opening dates and may the odds be in your favor!!

Upon arrival to check-in, I observed one person at the reception desk being helped by the sole staff member, plus several folks hanging out in the lobby. After checking that no one else was waiting, I sat down to wait. They all left and I was the only person waiting. Of course, a white woman strolled right up to the desk from outside just as the other guest left, and instead of telling her I was there first, or even acknowledging me at all, the white staff person just helped her. 2. They say that pets names are on a welcome board when you arrive. My dog's name was not there and the board was tucked away against a wall. 3. I'm traveling alone with a dog, so I unload everything before bringing my dog into the room. After lugging everything to the door, my key cards did not work. When I went back to reception, there was no apology, or anything about accountability. Simply "oh let me fix that." 4. The room says that the TV is equipped with AppleTV, and even has a special button for it. Does not actually work. 5. They say they provided cookies in the lobby between 4-6pm. I checked in just after 4pm and there were none. 6. I took my dog out to sightsee and when we same back, again with my hands full, the key cards did not work again. So, I have to leave my belongings at the door, and run to the lobby with my dog in tow, to get the fixed AGAIN. funny how that happened again. 7. When we did open the door to the room the first few times, the smell of "old lady perfume" was so strong. I asked the front desk if that was intentional and she said it must be a cleaning product. It is way too strong and I can still smell it on day 2, even after airing the room out as much as possible. 8. The shower head is covered with lime, and the spray options do not all fully function due to how clogged the shower head is. 9. The bedding is way too light for the climate. So then you run the heater, and get too hot in the night. 10. The outdated fridge runs loudly at random times in the night. I'm on a long road trip with my dog as we move to Canada, and we've been on the road for 2 weeks and been to 5 states. I decided to splash out on this hotel because I'm a huge Goonies fan, and my dog loves the beach. Overall, I'm disappointed and I'd say this hotel is not worth it at all. I will not stay here again. For this amount of $$$, plus dog fees for me, this value is abysmal.

We'd totally stay here again.
