As McAllister's is a chain restaurant I find their food is consistent and good. As for this location specifically, they always seem to be understaffed. Food takes just a little bit longer to get, but the staff is always kind and nice to get us refills. I always like to get their chicken Caesar salad wrap or their chicken tortilla soup. I try not to enjoy McAlister's. I can't pinpoint it exactly, but there is something lurking in that place that I try painstakingly hard to locate and dislike. However, every time my wife is craving a Chicken Salad sandwich, I find myself living in the recurring nightmare of walking through their doors. Waiting in line, I am standing next to a beautiful picture of a sandwich piled high with pastrami and corned beef. I couldn't help but snort my disgust knowing full well that if I ordered that exact sandwich (The New Yorker) it would be a pathetic disappointment compared to the delectable picture next to me. The gentleman who took our order was friendly and personable. Ridiculous. The young lady who brought our order was smiling and cheerful. Awful. I knew I located my disdain when the food came out so fast it would be inconceivable for it to be hot. But it was hot! Even worse was the kitchen staff had the cruel sense of humor to pile my pastrami and corned beef so high it was indistinguishable from the photo by the front door. I begrudgingly ate the sandwich, it was delicious but I wasn't going to admit it to anyone until this friendly manager had the audacity to come by and check on us and basically forced me to admit that everything was lovely and there was nothing else we needed... The tortilla soup is delicious. I loved the Italian sandwich also. The meat wasn't skimpy which is awesome. Strawberry lemonade is not too sweet, it was just the right amount of sweetness. Food was 'ok'. The employee who helped us was awesome. Friendly and professional. Everyone else needs training in COMMON SENSE. My daughters mac and cheese was cold and I had to go up to the counter to request a new one. The second one was like warm but not hot like 165 degrees hot. MY sandwich was the chicken salad on a croissant and the croissant was soggy because the plate they put my sandwich on had water on it from the dishwasher. I mentioned this to the employee who brought us our food. She didn't offer to replace the bread or apologize. She just said 'oh yeah the plate is wet'. I asked her to please bring it back to the kitchen and replace the bread. She just stared at me. Clearly this was an inconvenience. (I wish I could make this up.) After dealing with the chilled mac and cheese I just decided to eat the soggy sandwich without the bottom part of the bread. Shame on you McAlisters. Your food is expensive and your customer service is crap. I used to love eating McAlisters and we tried the Yukon location for the first time since moving. Went in to order meals to go - tipped of course cause when you pay they ask you to fill that part out - won't again in advance based on this experience. I live 20minutes away and have never had an issue at this location. My order took forever!!! People walked in and ordered after me and got their order before I got mine but okay. Got home and my sandwich was missing - called and spoke to the manager and she was not apologetic at all - she actually laughed before I could get out what I was calling for and said oh wow I bet your missing a sandwich - which I didn't think it was funny told her how annoyed I was she just started talking over me dismissing what I had to say. Ultimately said she would put my name on a board and when I wanted I could come back and get a free meal. Christopher and Evan, the GM and AM there, were absolutely top notch with their knowledgeable and proactive help with a large food order delivery for a funeral reception that we were organizing. They went out of their way to provide everything we needed, and when we requested one item they did not have on the menu, they went the extra mile to acquire it for us at a nearby grocery store. They prepped and delivered the food to the funeral home for us, and stuck around to make sure everything was just right. The food quality was excellent and portions perfect and there was not much left after the reception was over. Frankly, we are unaccustomed to this level of service in our home region of the Northeastern US. Absolutely love McAlister's! I have been to several locations and have been pleased at each and every one. I was extremely excited when they finally put one out in Yukon. I have been here many times and decided to finally give this location a review. First, we will speak about the staff. They are awesome! They are always friendly and seem like they actually enjoy working here. They are always asking to refill your drink and make sure you are enjoying your experience. Next, the food is amazing. It's a sandwich place so their menu isn't huge. I attached a picture of their menu, so you can look for your self. Everything I have tried, I have enjoyed. I will be upfront though, and tell you I usually just have my favorite, which is the McAlister's Club. If you like potato salad, give theirs a try. It is amazing! Love bringing my daughter with me when we eat here. Kids menu prices are amazing if you are dining in. So if you are on the fence about trying out this location, just give it a try.
