Wow!! It's my first time going through Mississippi on a road trip and we just happened to stop by here for some sandwiches. I learned that it is a Mississippi chain-perfect! We got the half Italian and half Honey bbq. Sides were steamed broccoli and potato salad. The sides were ok but the standouts were definitely the sandwiches. I wasn't expecting them to be so good. I imagined they would be on par with Subway but nope, they came out so quickly and warm. The cheese on the honey bbq melted so beautifully and loveee the sweetness of it too. The sourness of the Dijon mustard coupled perfectly with the Italian meats. You may dine in but we got them to go to eat while on the road. The staff was patient with while we looked at the menu. It looks like if you sign up for rewards, you get a famous sweet tea! I don't get why they have negative reviews. This place definitely deserves 5 stars! read more

I ordered two 12" sandwiches with sides, total cost of $40 to go. When I received the order I noticed the bread was different and cold. I telephoned the restaurant to ask what type of bread both sandwiches came on, first time the call dropped (right)? Called back to ask to speak to manager , I asked the same question. I was told the sandwiches come on ciabatta however, they were out of the ciabatta and substituted the bread. I indicated the bread looks like hot dog buns. I stated, wouldn't it be better if you informed the customer you were out of the bread and give them the option of canceling the order. She agreed, and apologized. However, I did not feel as if she was sorry for my inconvenience. This was my absolute last time to order from this McAllister. The sad part is that we don't have a lot of restaurants so why not be the best at what you do. Let's do better people. read more

McAlister's is one of my mom's favorite places. We were in town visiting family and stopped here for lunch. My mom ordered the choose two, with a sandwich and chili. She asked for onion on the chili and didn't received any. They also didn't have the bread my mom wanted yet never mentioned it until the cook mentioned it later. My mom loved the chili. When I walked to the register there were 2 young girls standing there talking. They looked at me but didn't say anything. I waited another minute then asked if I could order. It was awkward. There seemed to be a lot of employees by the registers but only 1 cook. Our order took a while. I ordered a sandwich and salad. My sandwich was not what I ordered and looked so sad. I ordered the Turkey melt but only got a turkey, cheese, bacon sandwich with barely any meat. We were so hungry and since the food took a bit I just ate it so we could return to our hotel. I did like there was seating available outside. We were able to have our dog outside while we ate. read more

We dined here last night after checking into nearby hotel. We were in the mood for tasty comfort food including soup and sandwiches -- so this fit our goals. Glad we stopped here. Pleasant staff and good service. Food quality was good -- I liked my spicy chicken sandwich with avocado and pepper Jack cheese. My wife enjoyed her soup. Of course the famous sweet tea was awesome. What a turnaround!!!!!!! Everyone of the staff at the Vicksburg McAlister's Deli was super friendly and helpful. One lady asked if she could recommend a sandwich for me , since I was undecided? I took her recommendation and ordered the Horseradish Roast Beef & cheddar sandwich. Wow, it is Great !!! There is an entirely new set of employees recently. When picking up food at the drive through window the guy working it the past two times has earphones in and stares at me dumbfounded. He stares at me, waddles off, then comes back with one or two others who also look at me as if wondering why I'm at the pick-up window. I'm not sure if they cannot read and are looking for someone who might be able to read the names on the to-go orders or if they are just on copious amounts of drugs. I really don't think I will be going back to this establishment. I dont know if my food was spit in and won't take any chances with such types working there now. The customer service is awful for the money you spend. I expect this service at Subway, but not McAlisters. Never greeted, felt rushed when ordering, and I don't think I saw but one employee smiling. My to-go order was forgot about even though I was the only other person in the restaurant. I never heard my name caller. Ordered delivery after a long day of driving. Although quoted a delivery time of 40 minutes our family's 4 person order showed up in 15. The proportions were generous; everything showed up hot and fresh and the delivery man brought it directly to the room. I especially enjoyed the New Yorker. The only criticism we can offer were the lack of fountain drinks (hotel purchased instead) and only one dessert (Brookie) available for delivery. If you are ever in the hotels off of highway 20 entering Vicksburg, definitely give McCallisters a try. read more

Staff was great here - had the nachos!! The outdoor patio was a wonderful addition to our dinner scenery! The tea was sweet. The food was served promptly and at a great temperature. The nachos are a large portion which is great to share. The sandwiches and sweet tea are another sure thing to order! We ended up sitting on the patio outside which was shaded and perfect for a nice day outside. Even though you order your food and it is brought to you, I felt the customer service here was above and beyond, everyone was super nice and acting as if they had known you forever. Still 5 stars such a yummy deli..this time I got half a salad and turkey sandwich..but I was a pig and wanted the other half of the sandwich so I got another..next time i will get the whole sandwich to begin with.. the bread is so tasty..my hubby got a cranberry club and thick tasty cheddar brocolli soup..when I got my second half it came with baked potato which he ate and was very good..then we got 2 brownies..yes we overdid it.. but we love it here and wish they had back home.. read more

For the price you pay, you'd expect far better management. Not only do the employees look far from miserable. But I could only spot maybe 2 smiles in the whole restaurant. I can't blame only the employees because Scotty Evans (head manager) doesnt seem to have his restaurant put together. I expect better from the future of mcalisters. We are regular McAlister's customers when traveling... we find them to be clean and the food usually quite tasty. Here the food was "okay?" But not Great! We had our usual order. My choose 2 salad was quite small barely covered the corner of my plate and the soup was barely warm. So much so it did not melt the cheese that they sprinkled on top. Also the price was quite a bit higher than our last McAlister's stop in Texas. On the plus side the staff was excellent. Very friendly and just plain personable. read more

There is a myriad of problems with this establishment. The parking lot has a hole that knocked my front tire into the front seat and gave my wife road burn on her thighs. After reassembling my spare tire in the poorly lit parking lot we went in to have a nice meal. Unfortunately, the employees decided that the restaurant would not be serving any other customers regardless of the fact that they didn't close for another hour. We felt as though we were being discriminated since there was a table of besuited men that had just been seated to eat. The men were also driving a Tesla with a licensed plate stamped "Electric", so we can only assume that the employees base there quality of service on the originality and pure brilliance of their customers. This is an establishment with staff that is arbitrary by nature and downright lazy. Save yourself some time and eat trash like the raccoon we spotted in the back of the building. Or if you have a few miles left on your charge, drive to whataburger where the staff is diligent and caring. They also do not discriminate based on customers driving naturally aspirated vehicles. read more

Nice, neat, clean place. I got a sandwich, my buddy got a salad. In all honesty, I should have gotten a salad as well, as it looked better than my sandwich. That's not to say that my sandwich was bad, it's just that the salad looked that damn good. They have unsweetened tea, which if you're a guy from the Northwest like I am it's a god-send. EXQUISITE salads! Generous portions and easy on the wallet! I got the taco salad and my husband got the southwestern cob salad. We were both very pleased with our decisions and left full! The chipotle dressing was an amazing tonight touch! The chili was deLISH and I was so happy they didn't forget any of the special instructions (cuz I can be particular about how I like my food :P ) plus we were traveling so had they forgotten napkins or utensils, it wouldn't have been so pleasant a dinner. I don't go out to lunch often, but I really enjoy this place when I get the chance. I always order the 4-cheese griller, because I'm eternally a pre-pubescent child and addicted to grilled cheese. The food is delicious, and it comes out pretty quickly. The staff is hit and miss. Sometimes they are the nicest, friendliest people. Sometimes you can tell they have no desire to be there. The last day we ate in the restaurant, during a very busy time. The staff was able to handle the noon rush and made sure my group was taken care of, too. Even more remarkable, the young ladies who were serving our area chased our group outside the restaurant on two different occasions to return items we had left inside. Mediocre. It reminded me of the Panera chain immediately upon entering. However, not near the quality ! I had the cranberry salad ... It was loaded with sugar and hardly discernible turkey. Others had ham and melted cheese with, what was soggy at best, Mac and cheese side. Deli turkey sandwich with honey mustard was even disappointing?! Rye bread was a little stale and the turkey was usual salty low quality lunch meat and the honey mustard was tasteless. Really , couldn't even use quality condiments? I was in Vicksburg for work and McAlisters was very close to my hotel. I ended up going there about four times and I enjoyed every visit. Not only were the sandwiches and salads very good, but the service is fast and the prices are reasonable. I especially liked the BLAT sandwich, and the club. I did notice that there were some times that they were extremely busy, like Sunday evening, so if you're in a hurry or on the road, it may not be a good option. read more
