We split the sandwich and some chips and got a bag of the oatmeal raisin cookies to go. Let's talk about this sandwich shall we??? OH, I will be chasing this club sandwich "high" for many a day. I don't know if they cure the meats in house or what, but every ingredient shined. And not least of which was the grilled bread - it was such a perfect foil for the meats. (and I loved that this sandwich let its bread shine on the outside and there was no pesky middle piece of bread like traditional club sandwiches. YUM - I will happily go back here! The decor was very "Texan" too, It is less than a block off the main square and is only barely renovated to fit the new use. So many things looked good on the menu, but I couldn't resist ending this road trip with another taste of chicken fried steak to compare to Mary's (and they can definitely compete because it was AWESOME)! We also tried the chicken fried chicken (delicious), sweet potato casserole (amazing), Mae's potato casserole (tasty), cheese sticks (good), and the hamburger and fries which was obviously delicious enough that my picky daughter almost finished it - which says a LOT! We were very glad that we'd ordered the "smaller portions" for lunch because it meant we could grab a few of the desserts to go to snack on for our final leg of the road trip and keep enjoying at home. We tried the toffee cake (incredible), peanut butter cake (sinfully good), and the coconut pie (very light and creamy)!
