My salad and sandwich were okay except that the japaleno crunch sandwich was a bit over the top on the japaleno notes... mine was actually very hot do to the amount of japaleno In The roll. Service was really good. Very kind and helpful staff. The food was average nothing to really go out of way for. It was a easy stop for us getting gas and break during long road trip. Plenty of seating with comfortable dining area. The lemonade was my favorite item from the menu even though we've been drinking sweet tea all day. Had lunch today at Mcalisters and there was less than 10 people eating there. It took 35 minutes before they brought our chips/nachos and one person's food then waited another 10 minutes before they brought the other two meals. There were people that came in after us and got food earlier than us. We had to remind them we had been waiting. No apologies. Many tables were not cleaned. Also had a small sign at counter they did not have lids for cups. Took food to go and ate chips there. Poor management! read more

Terrible service. The young lady at the counter was customers friendly at all we were left standing there without acknowledgment. The food was awful. This place has outdoor seating which has limited covering. However, it is convenient if you are traveling with a pet. The place was clean and the service was very good. The chicken salad met our expectations while the turkey club fell slightly from our usual McAlister's experience. As for the ice tea--It was fabulous as always. Just had the absolute most horrible customer service experience at McAllisters in Ruston. Ordered at 5:00 on the app. Get there at 5:30. Not ready. Only one table in the whole place has people in it. Lady asks for our name. Puts our order on the window and doesn't come out for a while. It was ready and she could have brought the order out to us. But she stayed back there doing other other orders. No one on the floor. I had to ask her to come out and bring it to us because we had somewhere to be. She said, actually, I just put it there. No maam you did not. It's been there for a while just staring us in the face. And she was going to argue. I wish I had gotten her name but it was a woman in a grey shirt with long multi-braids. Rudest experience I have ever had. I really hope she wasn't a manager. Another gentleman was the one who came out of the back and handed us our order. He gave us 2 cookies and while I appreciate that, that's not the point. We didn't get our order until 5:45. It was only 2 sandwiches and broccoli. Not only that, but when we went to call the restaurant they would not answer and then had an attitude. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I am absolutely appalled at my experience at the Ruston, LA McAlister's On 1101 N. Service Rd. Suite 100 yesterday. I am a huge McAlister's fan and have never had a bad experience. The McAlister's that we have in Indiana at both Hamilton Town center and Fishers on 116th St. are phenomenal. I pray there wasn't actually any member of management at this restaurant when we were there yesterday. That would make it even worse! I don't even know where to start. It should've been a sign when we walked in at 1:30 and there were only two customers sitting at a table together. Everyone working there wasn't really working. The best way I can describe what I saw is that it was a whole bunch of people getting together, on their cell phones, goofing off, but just happen to be behind the counters of a restaurant and expected to fix a dish if someone orders. And if someone did need to order it was a huge inconvenience for them! McAllister's needs to shut this place down! Those employees give McAlister's such a bad name! Horrible horrible!! And the food was disgusting. Never thought I would ever say this about McCallisters. I went to McAlister's website and posted a review and got a call from Someone. I believe she said she was the manager or area manager.. Offered no compensation, coupon, nothing. Just apologized to me and said that the guy on his phone got fired. She apologized and said that they had just talked to the employees about not having cell phones out. There was so much more wrong outside of the cell phone. She said the next time I was in town or in the area to come by and she would do something to compensate me. That doesn't make anything better at all. I explained that the next time I come back would probably be 2 to 3 years from now as this was the last time I was here. I am attaching a picture because to top everything off as I'm leaving the same person who made me feel like an idiot for getting his attention to ask for a refill and hopefully help out the woman in front of me who needed to place an order... He was literally hanging out the drive-through window texting or whatever he was doing with his cell phone in his hand when we left. I could literally open up my own franchise and have it built from the ground up and hire all of the staff and still have my food before this particular restaurant had my order ready.
