Best salad bar around and the grilled cheese variety is crazy good. Always hit them up for seasonal treats like Mardi Gras bars or peach cannolis during the festival. Recently ordered a "Happy Birthday" Cookie Cake for my grandson who is attending La Tech. The cake was picked up and not delivered. While the cake was good and very nicely decorated , the total price of $84.15 seemed way overpriced especially if you figure the cost per slice ! When the cake was first ordered the price quoted and paid was $39.27 plus a quoted small future charge for decorating . The final charge of $44.88 was more than the first payment ! Amazing service. Obviously a real artistic passion for the owner. We love ordering cakes for special occasions and giving them room to let their creativeness expound. We've never been anything less than fully satisfied and inspired. But, what spurred me to write this review was the "double doozie" I received and consumed yesterday. I feel like I have the adequate experience on this subject to say that the specimen I received last night unseated all previous samplings from other establishments. The moment it touched my lips, I worried that the cookie was too hard but to my delight the crunch was only a thin layer that quickly gave way to delicious goodness that was generously loaded with the finest chocolate hunks. But all this gloriousness soon became a footnote to the silky smooth icing sandwiched between the two chocolate chip cookies. The icing is unrivaled among the many attempts at a double doozie. Free of the granular sugary texture that only causes guilt and never enhances the experience, this collaboration of cookie and icing is not to be shared. They are large enough for two but so tasty you better forget about any ideas of sharing. There is only heart ache and confrontation to be had down that road. A certain chain cookie company who coined the term and will here remain unnamed in this review was only hinting at what could be when they began to offer their "double doozie." All these years I just did not realize what was possible. Satisfied all these years with the mere elementary offering of so many bakeries. I almost regret having experienced the refined simplicity of the Uptown Downtown "Double Doozie." From this point forward, this guilty pleasure can only be fulfilled here. Yesterday during the Peach Festival I went in with my two toddlers to order food. The only menu on the board is for desserts. I asked one of the employees if they were serving sandwiches she said yes and turned away. I wanted ask where I could get a menu. I finally got her attention again and asked where I could find a menu. She pointed to the end of the counter and said over there and turned away again. She didn't even bother to get it for me. There was a long line in front of me to the end of the counter and I had my two children in a stroller so it was difficult for me to maneuver to the end of the counter. Fortunately a kind person standing in front of me walked to the end of the counter and got it for me. There was no seating inside so we went outside. I waited about 15 minutes and then went back inside to ask how we were to get the food. Another employee was standing at the door so I asked her. She said we will call out your name. I said are you calling the names outside too? She said no. What???? People are seated outside. She offered to go get it for me which was the only Customer service I received from them. Please work on training your employees to be more customer friendly and focused. I definitely won't be back!! read more

$27 for a grilled cheese blt, plain Caesar salad and one fountain drink. My sandwich was burned and so hard, the bread cut the roof of my mouth. I took it back to counter to ask for a less crispy one. There was no apology for my sandwich, instead I was made to feel like an imposition. No customer service sadly. My daughter ordered a simple Caesar salad no chicken, but was charged the full price. I asked and was told by the twelve year old working the register that they charge the same amount with or without meat. It's a really cute place, but way overpriced.
