Half Roast Beef Spud and half Memphian sandwich
Cheralyn M.

Went to McAlisters today and it was a great experience. There was a little bit of a wait to order but the woman working the register was super friendly and helped make suggestions. She also offered a sample of the tea since we were unsure if we would like it. The food came out relatively quickly. There was a little mishap - they gave us a cup of chili instead of a half a spud max but they corrected it and brought out the correct item. The food itself was very good and the sweet tea and plum tea were great as well. The workers were very polite and were quickly bussing the tables to ensure the dining area stayed clean for new guests. I will agree with other reviewers that the portions could be slightly larger, but aside from that we have no complaints. We will definitely be back again.

Grilled chicken sandwich with chicken tortilla soup and Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake

My first visit to this McAlisters was incredible awesome. I went to the one in Grovetown but not to this one yet so decided to give it a try. I purchased the Choose 2 Grilled Chicken Sandwich with the Chicken Tortilla Soup and for dessert the Chocolate Godiva Cheesecake. What a wonderful combination to choose. The customer service and food was awesome. Can't wait to come back here again!! :)

My first visit to this McAllisters. I always loved their potatoes! So I decided to order ahead online through their website. My husband and I both got the pick 2. I always get a potato with cheese and ranch and he get the spud ole. We discovered they changed all the names. But we were still able to get what we wanted. I got 1/2 of the crunchy jalapeño Sandwich and he got the horse radish beef. Wasn't a crumb left so must've been ok. I can't skip their tea... so good! There was only 1 curbside pickup sign, which probably needs more, especially right now.

Pretty good establishment. Clean. Staff was really friendly. And most importantly, the lead by example management. The owner was working in the back, WITH the crew. This is unheard of anymore. They got my order right and the food was amazing. This place set the bar. I've had so many terrible experiences with restaurants in this area, mostly fast food. But when you both set an example and hold people accountable and create an environment that isn't hostile, it benefits everyone.

Pick 2 from menu--jalapeño turkey crunch and chicken avocado salad

We started frequenting this place during covid for ease of pickup. They have now earned our loyalty. The food is always fresh, timely and served with a smile...and you never need a refill because their beverage cups are Huge! My most recent meal included my go-to sandwich and a salad. The salad could have been a meal on its own...avocados and chicken aplenty. And the bread for the sandwiches?...always fresh. Highly recommend you try something on their expansive menu!

Broccoli and cheese soup

I got the Memphian sandwich with turkey, ham, and roast beef and it really impressed me. Their veggies were very fresh and the meat was mighty tasty. Their broccoli and cheese soup was very, very good. They have so many sandwiches on their menu and after eating one i want to try them all because i really enjoyed the Memphian sandwich.

Hadn't been to California Dreaming in a bit so met friends for drinks tonight. Bustling during rush…read morehour on a weekday (Tuesday), I was glad I made a reservation. The restaurant is aging gracefully; interiors haven't changed in some time. Servers were fast and friendly. The food is a known quantity; always good hot and tasty. I just reminded myself to go more often.

After an initial terrible start, California Dreaming has had a heck of a hot streak for me. That…read morestreak ended today. I ordered the Cali Bowl - Miso Salmon (added blackened shrimp) and fries WITH NO SALT as an APPETIZER! My buddy orders wings and a salad. His salad comes out promptly but no fries. The food comes out shortly after and he says the wings are great. Great for him! My fries finally make an appearance and are overly salty. I reminded the waitress they were requested unsalted so she took them back. By the time she'd returned with the new batch of fries, which was quite prompt, I'd mixed the ingredients of my Cali Bowl only to discover that it was lukewarm at best. The fries tasted refried, soaked with grease. The third time was a charm for the fries. I'd mentioned temperature of the bowl and although she'd offer to have it remade, it was quicker to reheat it, thus my request. It came back slightly warmer but not enough to eat. At this point, I was over it and just packed it up to take home. It wasn't the best visit but it definitely wasn't the worst. The croissants are the reason I'm sure I'll be back.

I'm going to try to separate my 'tastes' from the dishes as presented. My wife's Bolognese was absolutely delicious and very well seasoned, and the cheesecake was fantastic. My wife thought it had too much crumble; I consider that a feature and would absolutely get that again. The salads were dandelion greens and they were far more bitter than I like, and a generous dose of dressing, something acidic would cover it, or something sweet. The bites I had with tomato were good. But I couldn't really finish it. The big problem was spaghetti with Sunday gravy. It was a huge disappointment. The pasta itself was excellent and the meatballs were okay, but the sauce was surprisingly bland and under-seasoned, especially for a $30+ entrée. It tasted more like plain tomato sauce than the rich, deeply flavored hardy sunday gravy that fully of meaty and salty flavors I was expecting. I do NOT salt my dishes at the table because I season them thru the cook. I wish there were salt and pepper at the table tonight though. The Sunday Gravy tasted decidedly like pure puréed tomato with a few meatballs added after the fact. They were dry and clearly not cooked with the sauce. I wish they had been. There are definitely things here I'd happily order again. Others I want to try. I'd just skip the spaghetti, especially at that price point.
