Each did a standard diagnostic check using software (easy to do) and declared that the car was most likely irreparable. Cyprus VW even told me to simply donate the car, telling me that repair would cost about $14,000. Phil from European Cars suggested that I go to Heights Autohaus. (Phil was not one of the four by the way but someone whose advice I trusted). Heights Autohaus repaired the car. The cost was not cheap, but certainly less than $14,000 and the cost of a new car. My impression is that they employ real mechanics/service people who can look past what the computer tells them and determine what can be done to fix the issue. Of course these guys can do standard repairs like brakes and oil changes, but their real talent appears to be actually resolving more complex repairs that others will not or cannot touch.

The moment I picked up my car, it started making noise. I had to bring it back four different times, and each visit I was given a different explanation. The final excuse was that the noise was coming from the brakes they "didn't replace" and that it was just a coincidence. That explanation made no sense. When I asked for a refund, they raised their voices and were rude instead of taking responsibility. I felt dismissed and not taken seriously. Their attitude changed completely once there was an issue. I would not return and would not recommend this shop.

Marci showed me photos of what the underside looked like and what they did to repair the damage. He always checks for recalls and will send me to the dealership to get those done, rather than him charge me and do the work which he could easily do because I'm clueless about cars. There's also been two times where the dealership has told me I need to have something done and give me a quote, then I call Ray on the spot, and he tells me not to have it done it there because they're overcharging, and he ends up charging me little or even nothing. I do, however, think their customer service has gone down since their old receptionist left out of the country. She was awesome, but the replacement(s) are not as helpful as she was.

Ronnie knows his stuff! Recently, I was having an issue with my front end rattling real bad. If I was at a stoplight with the vehicle running my vehicle would shake vigorously. When I took my car to Ronnie, he sat in my car to diagnose the problem and said, " You need new motor mounts." He gave me a price on what it would cost to put new motor mounts on my vehicle. Fast forward sometime later and I was in Meineke getting my oil changed. While I was at Meineke I asked them to check my motor mounts, so I could compare pricing. To my astonishment, the Meineke mechanic said my motor mounts were fine, and it was the shocks and something else that was causing the vigorous shaking. Who was right and who was wrong? Well, it would turn out that Ronnie was right, because once I purchased the motor mounts and had him put them on, the shaking stopped. My ride is sitting smooth again, while idle. Ronnie is a good guy, a honest mechanic, and his shop is the only shop that I trust to handle my vehicle repairs.

They finished the job unusual fast. after picking up my vehicle my alignment was off, which Ronny claimed wasn't his fault so charged me another $150 to fix. There is also a knock when turning my wheel to the left or the right. My vehicle idled rough, performance was sluggish, and I was smelling fuel through my air vents. Ronny claimed to have used the wrong plugs and that he replaced them again with what the manufacturer (GMC) recommended. I had a bad feeling when picking up my vehicle because I could sense Ronny was being phony, Nancy looked concerned, and the muppet helper in the shop was out there cracking up laughing as Ronny told me they fixed everything. My vehicle performed better for the most part, but still occasional vibrates during idle, runs hotter, and the worst thing is that I am constantly smelling fumes through my air vents...a lot! Had to travel for work unexpectedly, but as soon as I return, I will be taking my vehicle to the GMC dealership to determine what they did wrong. Next time I will pay the extra money and take my vehicle to the dealership to begin with and not allow some careless, "corner cutting scammer" shop, damage my vehicle. I'm sure they would treat their own vehicles much better. Unfortunately, I do not recommend.
