Not knowing any better, I agreed and paid for it all. Totaling to $154. I come to find out later that the steering wheel reset is supposed to be a step in the alignment process and the steering wheel reset doesn't actually affect if the car pulls to the left or right. Basically I got taken advantage of as someone who didn't know any better. Not coming back.

Years ago I had an SUV that just died while I was getting gas nearby. I walked to McBroom's since it was the closest shop (right across a side street actually). I asked if I could use their phone to call a tow truck, but one of their mechanics volunteered to come and look at my SUV and try to start it for me. This went on for about an hour until he finally decided to tow it with his own truck to their garage. The next day, my car was running so I picked it up and drove it to my side of town. It died after about 20 minutes. So why such a glowing review if my truck/SUV wasn't actually fixed? I was charged nothing for the time and effort that this mechanic put into my car. Yes, he didn't totally fix it, but he did what he could to the best of his abilities and for FREE!! Most people in the Houston area wouldn't even bother to look at one of your troubled autos without agreeing to a $75-100 fee first! I guess McBroom's is just proof that while we all complain about mechanics there are still some good ones out there. You may just need to get out to the suburbs to find them!

I went in for an inspection at the beginning of November 2025 and the guy who did the inspection…read moreinformed me that my front and rear brakes needed to be replaced within the next month or two. No lies, just honest, caring and helpful. I waited until Jan 31, 2026 to replace the brakes because of finances. Turns out my rotors were worn and should be replaced, with the front being priority over the back. He said I could keep the rotors if I could deal with a little squealing. I went ahead and had the rotors replaced too. The total for front and rear brakes, front rotors, and to fix something that was dragging under the car, came to $637, which I felt was reasonable. I highly recommend ETA Tire and Auto on Spencer Hwy and Center St., in Deer Park, TX because they are respectful, honest and not out to take your last dime. It was nice to hear that they are Christian owned! BONUS!!
