The 1993 Honda Accord Transmission Repair Experience…read more The transmission repair for my 1993 Honda Accord was handled exceptionally well. The technicians involved demonstrated their expertise in working with older models, especially since the parts were hard to find. They thoroughly understood the common transmission issues associated with this model and provided a detailed diagnosis. They explained the necessary repairs clearly, ensuring transparency throughout the process. The repair was completed within the estimated timeframe, which was appreciated. The shop communicated effectively, keeping me updated on the progress. The pricing was reasonable, especially considering the quality of the work performed. They also offered valuable insights on preventive maintenance to avoid future issues. Overall, the experience was positive, and my Accord now runs smoothly. I highly recommend this repair shop for anyone needing transmission work on a 1993 Honda Accord or similar models.

One star is too generous. Eric's Car Care seems friendly up front -- but once something goes wrong,…read moreit becomes delays, excuses, and attempted add-on charges. Unfortunately, my experience matches what other reviewers have described. Also, this company has a few unresolved BBB complaints recently. In May 2022, they installed a throttle body on my 2007 Ford Explorer. Shortly afterward, the vehicle began having intermittent stalling, and it has steadily worsened. A throttle body should last 100,000 miles or the life of the vehicle, so this kind of failure this soon after installation is unacceptable. Last week, a second mechanic at a Yelp four-star shop inspected it and said the throttle body was "faulty out of the box" and not a Motorcraft or Original Equipment Supplier part. When I brought the vehicle back to Eric's, they kept it for three full days, then told me "nothing is wrong" and attempted to charge me $125 to "look into it" -- exactly the kind of delay and added fees others have warned about. The manager blamed the delay on having only one mechanic and my vehicle being "in line." To make it worse, they claimed the warranty had expired, but when I asked for the signed warranty documentation, they couldn't produce it. If you're going to deny coverage, you should be able to provide the paperwork you say I agreed to. Run -- don't walk -- away from this shop.

Paid $50 for a mobile mechanic to come out. Initially, he described the $50 as a deposit that would…read morego toward repairs, then later changed it to a travel fee. When he arrived, he began insisting on payment for a diagnostic before even opening the hood or inspecting either vehicle, and then asked for partial payment just to begin. Due to heavy rain, he mentioned possibly needing to reschedule and said he didn't want to "abort mission." I told him that was his decision as the business owner and I would respect it. He chose to proceed. I also explained that I was planning to sell one of the vehicles and wanted it evaluated, but he refused, stating it would be "somebody else's problem." Despite proceeding, he refused to get out of his car and did not inspect either of the two vehicles at all (no hood opened, no physical checks). Instead, he relied on the codes I had already pulled and repeated that information back to me, then claimed I needed a transmission without verifying anything. He also stated that he "doesn't need to get out of his car to do a diagnostic." Afterward, he asked if I appreciated his help enough to send an additional $50. I offered $30, but since he had not performed any work, I told him that was not a viable decision. He later texted around 10 PM threatening to have my car towed over the $50. I paid the initial $50, but no diagnostic service was performed. I would recommend confirming all pricing and expectations clearly before working with him.
