I experienced a terrible nail job with "dip gel". I wanted regular gel but the tech couldn't understand me. It had been awhile since I'd had a manicure and frankly needed some guidance but that's not possible with someone who doesn't understand you. Only days later my "dip gel" polish cracked apart on a couple of nails. I came in to get it repaired and the tech and owner sure didn't seem happy about being held accountable. And of course blamed the cracking on me. The owner is another can of worms. His staff sadly seemed afraid of him. He comes off phony and seems to love money more than anything else. read more

I went to this place with my friends, we walked in and got started on pretty quickly we asked for regular polish 3 TIMES and they STILL gave us gel me not knowing the difference I said they looked good. the nails did come out good but not like the pictures we showed them. dont recommend. this has happened to me multiple times not at this specific place but nail techs like to mess up on purpose to get more coin if you do go here be very clear!!! read more

The nail tech ripped my acrylic nails off to redo them, honestly destroying my nail bed in the process. I even asked her if she was going to do that for every single nail and she just shrugged and kept going. I've never had that experience at any salon I've ever been too. I had heard good things about Michael and wanted to get my nails done while visiting my sister in Clovis. Made an appointment but the receptionist was SO RUDE that I decided to cancel my appointment. She claimed that Michael could complete my gel polish change in 15 minutes and when I said my nails have never been done that quickly, she said "I'll just put you down for 9am and Michael can "deal with it" when he gets here". How is this person employed? This is the first person you deal with when bringing the salon business and she is driving people away with her disgusting attitude. Maybe she shouldn't work there if she's so unhappy. Will gladly get my nails done elsewhere. Her attitude was so horrible it's actually almost funny. read more

Best nail place in Clovis hands down. First french tips I have been happy with since I got to Clovis a year ago. MC star has better prices, availability, quality, and techs who will actually take their time to make sure you are satisfied. I paid less for a soak off and full set here than I do for a fill at USA. And with the soak off here, they don't leave you sitting in the acetone for 30 mins, much better for your nails. At MC Star, I can afford to do my nails AND toes again. Me and my mother went there about a week ago. We just moved down here from Florida and it's only 3-5 minutes away from my house,so we decided to go. The people are very nice and all but the only things about it were 1, they didn't clean between my mother, me, and the girl we were rotating with. And on top of that, me and my mother got a fill in and I'm pretty sure it's just the brand that they use, the nail polish brand but anytime in the shower or when our hands are wet... the nail polish will start to peal off and all it does is gets worse becaus since you dry your hands or do something involving your hands, the polish peels. I have been here a couple of times and I am from Portales, the workers are very sweet and they do such a great job. Unfortunately the owners are very rude to their employees, especially the guy who does acrylics. Not that long ago I had gotten a full set and he talked very poorly about his employees and it made me very upset because I have been here a couple of times and the girls have done great but that not only makes the employees look bad but that also makes him look way worse for talking about them to customers. I believe that if you're a owner and have employees you should treat them right in front of customers and not talk bad about them regardless if they are doing something wrong. This place was very nice. They have a great set up typical of nail salons that take walk-in clients. The technician was through and took her time. My pedicure was awesome. The best part for me was the cleanliness of this place. They have a huge autoclave (tool cleaner) in plain sight and the tools they use come individually wrapped . . . perfect for someone as OCD as myself :) They also serve you water or soda as you sit and relax. I don't do fake nails, so I have no experience with those services. This is a review for a mani/pedi. Really nice experience compared to other Clovis nail salons. Nail techs are really sweet. I never feel like I am getting conned into a more expensive treatment or rushed out like at other nail salons. I like that it is a small place, never overcrowded, and they don't chat it up too much, allowing for a quiet relaxing experience. More than one option for gel polish too, like French or Shellac. Best nail treatment for the price. Even the basic $35 mani-pedi (my usual choice) comes with a really nice hot stone leg/foot and hand massage and choice of color. Polish options were good and polish/paint job was the best I have had in a while. It lasted a whole month. Probably would have lasted longer but my nail growth was showing so I removed it. If you pay cash they will do 10% off for military. read more
