Shawn did an excellent job diagnosing and repairing a difficult, intermittent AC problem that had been challenging to identify. He was knowledgeable, thorough, and persistent, taking the time to find the root cause. He explained everything clearly, completed the repair professionally, and made sure the system was working properly before leaving. I highly recommend McLaren for their expertise and dedication. read more

BEWARE: these people are unprofessional and don't give a damn about customer service. I called them at 8am to get someone to service my meter. Needed them to coordinate with eversource as I'm on limited power supply because of said meter. All day was getting "someone is on the way" only to be told after 5pm that someone can't actually come at all! Would have called someone else to get this since as it's a holiday weekend now I'm stuck without a stove, washed, dryer, dishwasher for me and my two kids until Tuesday. You guys BLOW. I implore anyone who's had a bad experience to call the BBB. read more

Mc Claren - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - East Bridgewater, Massachusetts

I've been doing business with McClaren for the past four plus years. I purchased two new AC units (complete systems), a new gas furnace, and was the fourth person which signed up for their membership program. In the past two year I've been trying to address a warrant issue with one of my AC units. McClaren Heating has changed hands. New owner and new operational manager Justin Knight. McClaren is NOT the same company anymore. In the past, I gave 5 stars. I now give the company, based on my last five phone calls and 5 months 1 star. Very poor customer service. Very poor operational manager. In my last phone call, the new operational manager informed me that I was the worst customer that he had talked to in the last 15 years. Think about the person that would say this on the phone to an existing customer of over four plus years with a yearly membership. Again, this is not the old McClaren Heating and AC company that was great. read more

Scheduled with them to get my oil/steam/water heater serviced a month ago. They call me the DAY OF stating that they need to cancel because they refuse to service the water heater since its not something they do.... even though its specifically stated on their website they do handle it. Waste of time. I'd go with another company if you want professionalism. read more

Phone calls, two appointments, one a no show. Electronic answering system, lame. Unit less than four years old and under warrenty and in need of repair. No reply from e'mail either. Buyer beware. Would not recommend! read more

No heat!, the General Manager of Service "Mike" is very upfront with pricing and availability of when a service person could come that day. Right on time, and price was right on. Very experience service person with a very large van loaded with repair / replacement parts. At 5 pm on a Friday night he had the two different parts he needed on in the van! Carol in the office, after 8 am is also very helful. Jeff L read more

I do not believe that McLaren is the honorable company it was under its previous owner. They offered a membership that allowed me a "free" heating system cleaning annually by paying for just an annual cleaning of the air conditioning. The heating system had worked perfectly for the five years I have owned the house until the day they came to clean it. Unfortunately, the visit was used to find issues they claimed needed fixing. Also, after the technician's visit, the boiler went out leaving me with no heat or hot water. The technician returned and got the boiler back on again, but "uncovered" other issues that he said might have caused that. He said it would probably go out again if not addressed. That made me quite suspicious. The cost of all these proposed repairs was quite high so I called another company. Their technician said the fixes were totally unnecessary and showed me a possible reason for the boiler problem. For a fraction of McClaren's quoted prices, my system was restored to the working condition it was previously in. I will not be using McLaren in the future. read more

McClaren Heating and Air Conditioning did an outstanding job during the annual service of my HVAC unit. They were prompt, professional, and extremely thorough in their work. Communication was excellent from start to finish--they responded quickly, kept me updated, and explained everything clearly. On top of that, their pricing was very fair, especially considering the quality of service. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend McClaren for anyone needing HVAC service! read more

Artie and his team are awesome! They were quick, efficient, on time, and extremely friendly. The maintenance for our heating/cooling system was a great price also! I would highly recommend them if you are looking for any of their services. read more

My mum's house A/C was on the blink. One company based in Brockton told my mum it was unrepairable and it would cost $12K for a new unit and installation. I texted my plumber, Mike Thayer, to recommend a good company and he texted back "McClaren HVAC". The result? McClaren fixed the existing unit for $800. Be careful out there, there are a lot of disreputable companies! For A/C problems go to McClaren HVAC! read more

These guys are still great, I've had them in for many services and they are easy to work with and very detailed oriented. They explain everything clearly and answered all my questions. Mine was a large project and included a HP Hot Water heater and heating unit. I helped me with all the paperwork and got back to me quickly whenever I reached out. I'm not sure you can get better service or a better value anywhere. They say you pick a doctor based on who does the most surgeries. I say do the same for your heating and plumbing guys. This company is always busy and always on time. I'd use them again in heart beat. JL read more

Our 24-year-old furnace went out 3 weeks ago. McClaren had installed a new central A/C system for us last summer and we were very happy with their work so we called about the new furnace. Gary is a knowledgeable , pleasant salesperson who went through various options with us and we finally agreed on a high-efficiency replacement gas furnace (the old one had been gas also) including on-demand hot water to replace our 7-year-old tank. Wasn't cheap, but a lot of plumbing was involved and I believe the furnace is one of the better ones available . Took some time but we secured a HEAT loan approval from MassSave, then a long-term 0 interest loan from Eastern Bank and the new furnace /hot water install took 2 days and was just completed , in time for the cold weather . The plumbing team was very professional and polite , a lot of work dismantling the old system and installing all new (and extensive) copper piping (we have a radiant heat floor under the main family room), built a new wooden wall on which to hang the new furnace and mount the pipes, and took a lot of time to make it look good and clean. Good electrician team as well that did all the wiring , also not easy with 6 zones. Very pleased with the final result , they cleaned up nicely and everything looks good . I don't love the PVC venting pipes that are on the back of the house and am a little worried about the constantly wet shingles , but I suspect that's normal. Anyway, highly recommended ! read more

McClaren installed our heating A/C system, but post installation, we have found them to be unreliable with dispensing service assistance and frankly lacking in integrity. I do not recommend this company. read more

This is the first negative review I have ever given, but feel like it is important for others to hear our story before selecting this company. We initially went with McClaren because of their other strong reviews, however, we were quickly disappointed. After many days of install, our ducted unit would not turn on. We were told it was very unusual for this to happen, but would take a week for the part to arrive. During that time we still received a bill to complete the final payment despite not even ever having a working unit (we had to remind them that we would pay when the job was completed). When the part came in, McClaren sent over a technician that was visibily upset upon arrival and proceded to swear and yell for 30 minutes making me and my kids feel unsafe in our own home. I have never had an experience like that in my entire life. We literally sat outside on our deck til he left. During his 30 minutes there he was unable to fix the problem. left a huge mess and a hole in my ceiling and said he wasn't sure what the issue was and someone would have to follow up with us. When I called Artie, the owner, he told me that his company has so many 5 star reviews and he has never had a complaint on this person before, and prides himself on his reputation. Only after threatening legal action for our money back because the units were not working, did Artie send over a team the following day to put in a brand new ducted unit. This team was polite and respectful of my home and thought we were putting the bad experience behind us. After two weeks all of our units went out again. I called Artie again and he said that is was so rare for this to happen, yet obviously not since this was the second time in one month, and that he had to special order the part which would take 5 days for the part to come in. I told Artie and all the technicians that I thought it was an electrical problem and was repeatedly brushed off and only after I specifically said that we needed a technician to come out did he send someone out to diagnose. After talking to the technician and doing some of my own research I learned that the units broke because they never installed a surge protector which is recommended for all LG inverter splits and ducted units (we installed 4 of these) because of the sensitivity of their components. After one heavy rainstorm it blew the PCB. After two days of research, back and forth texts with Artie, calls with Artie and Mike, asking for just a technician to come out and diagnose and seeing if there is anything they can do to remedy sooner, turns out we have paid $30,000 for 4 units (3 splits and 1 ducted upstairs) that have broken twice and have only ever worked for 2 weeks; and after being brushed off numerous times learned it was electrical in nature after all. The last thing Artie reminded me of before saying there is nothing he could do to win with me because I felt that he should do something more than say "oops and I'll get to you in 5 days", was that he had 700 4.9 reviews. This is exactly why we went with McClaren and exactly why I feel compelled to let others know who see the positive reviews that there are some of us who feel like this was the worst experience we have ever had. As of today, we are out $30,000 (this is A LOT OF $$$ to us despite Artie telling me he does 15 of these a week), have no working ACs, it is 85 degrees in my house, and still waiting for this company to make this right. read more

Paul and Eric replaced our old furnance. They are very professional, knew exactly what they were doing. They also worked late the second day to finish installation. We have had McClaren the last couple of years and are soo happy with them. Our central AC broke on the hottest day of the the year, and Mike came out on a sunday, and worked in the heat to get it fixed. I highly recommend McClaren's to anyone needing service, replacements, or installations on heating or air conditioning. read more

After dealing with oil energy for the past few years we decided to convert over to gas in order to be more efficient and save money. In addition to heat, we also decided to installed central AC throughout the house. This job was definitely not a small undertaking. As we were under certain time restraints to have this work completed, Artie could not have been more understanding and got the job done fast and efficiently. With temperatures in the single digits, Artie had his team turn around this project in quick order to ensure our house had heat and coordinated everything perfectly with the town and gas company. Would 1000% recommend Artie and team, and could not be more grateful for their work. True professionals and great people! read more

The crew that installed our new mini-splits were fantastic..Lead by Colin, Noah, Ken, and Nolan were all very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with throughout the process. They answered all our questions and were willing to go above and beyond to explain the installation and school us on how to use the system. We can't wait to use the AC and heating system and the crew assured us not to worry they are just a phone call away. I would definitely recommend this crew and they are an asset to McClaren Heating & AC. Thank you Artie for making this happen. Larry & I appreciate all the guidance you gave us and truly value your guidance. We will definitely be recommending your company to future clients. read more

Today had our annual furnace, a/c units check up today. The tech, Donny called me to let me know he was on his way to the house. We were scheduled for 8-10 a.m. He called at 8:05. Can't say enough good things about the service I received. Donny explained everything he was going to do. Went over the entire system, Said we were all good to go. Spent over an hour at our residence. Reassuring that our system is in great shape. Tech was punctual, personable, and professional. Our system was installed by McClaren 4 years ago. Would definitely recommend their company for any HVAC issues. :) read more

I recently had central air installed after receiving a quote from two other companies we decided to go with McClaren. All of the staff from Gary who initially came out to give the quote, Artie who walked use through the job, to Sean who came by within a few hours the following week when I couldn't figure out if things were working ok were all super personable, professional and knowledgeable. As a female I find sometimes tradesmen who come to do a job don't take the time to explain things/in depth because well, female. With this team I feel all my questions were answered and then some. It's nice to have a great experience and feel satisfied with the job that was done. Hopefully will have them back again soon for a water heater replacement! read more

We wanted to have a maintenance check on our Carrier heating system it was running ok but with the colder temps we wanted to make sure it was in good running condition, Derek and Mike came out they replaced the filters and battery for the thermostat and also vacuumed the inside of the unit. They did a CO check and reminded me to get CO detectors. Since we just moved in I didn't even think of them. Mike even showed me the best placement for them. They came out on time and actually called a half hour before they were going to be here it took @ 45 minutes and cost $172.00 dollars we felt it was worth the cost. They were very personable & actually showed me how to open the vents for better air flow. read more

We've been attempting to contact McClaren Heating & Air Conditioning to schedule a project. McClaren originally installed a mini split unit on our home when it was under previous ownership. We called McClaren to ask for their help with new line set covers for the system and to remove the condenser for some house work we're doing that requires access behind the condenser. A project the owner Arty, said would be fairly simple to accomplish. Arty even originally came out and said it wouldn't be a problem to accommodate, but to give them a week's notice so they could schedule the work. It's been two weeks of consistent follow up and we have yet to hear back regarding scheduling. The receptionist has been unhelpful at best and rude at worst. She did let me know Arty couldn't return our call last Friday because he was enjoying the day on his boat. If you're looking for a company that actually cares about servicing its customers, I suggest looking elsewhere. read more

We have used a few AC companies over the years since our install in 2002 but we knew of McClaren as they are a local company and we heard good things about them over the years. We started with a diagnosis of our AC system in 2017 and owner Artie laid out options for us that included a zero interest option through Mass Save for ultra efficient systems. Our system didn't qualify due to a few factors. Artie made the trip out to our home to ensure the quote was accurate before the job stated. We decided to go with McClaren by paying half up front as deposit and then the other half when they finished their work and we were satisfied. Chris and Pat showed up a bit early at our request and they were very thorough. Chris made the effort to make sure we had a new condenser pad when he could have used the existing one but it looks real nice. He also pressure tested our system and detected a slight pressure issue so he installed brand new AC piping which really shows the quality of their work. Artie was very good at communicating and getting back to us quickly so with all this, I highly recommend Artie McClaren. read more

The owner is very HANDS on and I like that , the one thing I would suggest to people is to define in great detail what you are buying warranties for. I would also strongly advise against tankless water heaters , we are over 700$ in maintenance costs and it seems as though we are going to be spending a few more 100 , if not more since it is leaking ( 4 yrs new , 1 of most efficient snd best on market lasts under 5 yrs???? ), and if you look online that is almost impossible since they dont hold water , but half a bucket says otherwise, I was 100% under the impression it was covered under warranty but apparently it's not and just to have someone look at it will be 100s of dollars . GREAT FOR LONG SHOWERS FOR FAMILY ( ALSO MEANS HIGHER GAS BILL ) 200$ EVERY 6 MONTHS OR SO !!!! Heating system except for balancing issues every few months is still good and same with A/C . read more

We won't be using McClaren again. Sean, the technician, was incredibly rude and made me feel very uncomfortable - borderline unsafe. I didn't like this technician last year and I certainly didn't like having him in my home this year. I'm not sure why I didn't act on my instincts and find another company last time. I won't be making that mistake again. He seemed to go out of his way to make me feel stupid for the questions I asked and then didn't even bother to actually answer the questions with anything more extensive than 'Yeah' or 'No'. Since our furnace continues to work I'm willing to give McClaren a 3 for the work quality: not great, but not bad, average. I would recommend you find someone else to work with. read more

We recently hired McClaren to install 5 Mini splits in our house. Artie was very helpful with applying for the Mass Save Loan, would always return our calls, answered all of our questions, and did a great job with the install. Artie even returned after the install to make sure the units were all working correctly. That is service for you! We used the AC system over the weekend and are so happy with our decision. The units are whisper quiet and the air feels clean. What a difference from the wall units. The McClaren employees were very prompt with their service. We also had our boiler fail over the winter and called the emergency line late Friday night. Mike called back immediately, arrived next day for repairs, explained we needed a new motor and would return first thing on Monday. Mike was great and even offered to go get us space heaters from the office to use over the weekend since it was in the 30s. Mike returned on time Monday and repaired our furnace promptly. I do not typically write reviews because who has the time but I feel as though McClaren deserves a great review and I give them 5 stars! I would highly recommend going with McClaren for both heating and AC! read more
